I recently had a military move from one side of town to another. I was left without a bed for three nights due to military movers picking up all items on a Thursday and not delivering until Monday. So after sleeping on the floor for 4 days due to military mover delays, the military movers wouldn't assemble the king bed put into storage by Ferguson the previous year. So, I called Ferguson and the following day they assembled my bed and other items left unassembled by military movers. for a very small fee.

Most importantly, they destroyed my $650 computer monitor, by allowing it to either be stacked with other heavy boxes (when it clearly had fragile written on it) or had let it fall when they were walking it in with the handcart, and of course have refused to pay for it. They also constantly complained about having to move boxes upstairs. And today, while trying to use our pull-out couch, we noticed it was broken from them struggling to move it. I was under-quoted for my move, despite providing them with an itemized list of furniture, and items, and describing the square footage of my home. A one-day 10-hour move turned into 2 days and 16 hours total. 2. I was told that I would not need to empty drawers to prepare and that the drivers would take apart beds and wrap items for me and then was told that I was not fully prepared for the move by the drivers. They ran out of time and space on my first day, which resulted in furniture being left in my driveway for me and my family to get moved into the house at 9pm. 3. The movers did not move items to specified areas despite being asked and provided with pictures and I also had to remind them to take things repeatedly. 4. I was not provided with detailed instructions on how to properly prepare for the move, including cleaning out my deep freeze, the fact that they cannot move any paint, chemicals, etc., and that they cannot take apart exercise equipment to move it. I was not told until they were driving away that they could not move a treadmill because it needed to be taken apart and that they could not do this. Had I known this information, I would have taken it apart myself and would have been better prepared. I had to call a manager to come out to help resolve the issue which led to further delays. It comes down to poor homeowner education on their part to help prepare for the move and overall poor communication regarding what they can and cannot do. For larger moves, a on-site visit and estimate should be a requirement to avoid issues such as this as well as a pre-move call to go over the items and ensure that they are all prepared. This move was extremely stressful and was extremely expensive which may have been avoided had the company done their diligence in their estimates and in preparing the homeowner for the move. Terrible experience. I will not use this company again.
