I had low expectations for a free service, so I was completely floored by her design skills. I felt bad when I, being clumsy, smudged the paste while it was still drying but she was completely cool with it, said that it happens all the time, and had no problem fixing it. We sat outside at a park while she was applying the paste and a few passerbys stopped to compliment her skill and ask for her card. It's also super refreshing to meet someone who genuinely wants to share her professional-level, artistic skill with others!

She took the time to walk me through the different henna color options and makes her own organic henna paste, which was a huge plus. She was patient, detail-oriented, and efficient, and the finished design came out beautiful. The stain is rich, bold, and has lasted longer than other henna I've gotten in the past. I would absolutely recommend Farhana to anyone in the Northern Virginia area!

She sent us a lot of inspiration photos and was very good about clarifying what we wanted. She was clear with her prices and her contract. She was also very responsive whenever we had questions. The day of our mehndi, she was very flexible and patient with two somewhat clumsy brides who had a hard time sitting still - but it still came out gorgeous ;) She gave us excellent aftercare instructions and was very kind and accommodating to everyone who came to our mehndi, also. She makes her own paste - it goes on beautifully and smells lovely.

Henna Harmony (Deepti) did a fantastic job with the henna for my wedding. She is very sweet and…read moretalented! Deepti arrived EARLY and was extremely patient as I was trying to find a design that my mother would like (who was not at home at the time). She brings her own henna that she makes at home. We chose the designs for arms (3/4 length) and feet on the fly and she interpreted the makeshift suggestions beautifully. Her work was impeccable. Everyone complimented the intricate, beautifully done designs. She worked quickly but accurately. She was also a complete joy to chat with. I think her work speaks for itself but when you have someone sitting with you for hours, it helps if they are positive and a great conversationalist. I could not have picked someone more talented or professional for my wedding henna. I highly recommend to all desi brides!

Her work was our first choice and our initial online contact was the more informative and detail-oriented than the other henna artists I contacted. Unfortunately, Covid changed our plans as I was about to contract with her. When it came time to schedule again, I decided to review several artists again - just because that is who I am. Since we are not Indian, but the groom is, we consulted his mother for recommendations. Independently, the mother of the groom asked around and her friends thought Shazia's work was first rate too. Unfortunately, it looked like there might be a conflict with the day that the bride preferred to have her henna done, but Shazia made it work. Shazia put in a 12 hour day to fit us in - and her work did not suffer for it. She arrived with everything including her own table and chairs that she wiped down in between clients. When she came back to do the bridesmaids' hands, she took extra time to help the non-Indians. She was so kind and friendly that she even helped them learn to fold a duppata properly for the evening's festivities. I only am pointing out that it was a mix of Indian and non-Indian guests to stress that everyone was pleased with her talent, and kindness. I highly recommend Shazia. We have not gotten the professional photos yet. So, I cannot post a photo, but the ones on her website do reflect her talent.
