We were driving through Chassahowitzka WMA today and found Njoy! As we entered, a super sweet lady asked if we had ever been there, to which we replied, we had not. She immediately set us up with Natalie, the owner for a 'tasting' and to explain the distillery and farm. Natalie was very informative and fun! Tshirts, home baked goods using the rum, honey, spices and jams were available for purchase, along with the rum and whisky! (My husband loved the Rye Whisky and the Limited Edition Rye, bringing home a bottle of each!) After, we enjoyed a glass of Sangria (it was SO good! My non-loving sweet wine hubby loved it!!) and a smash burger from the food truck that was there, sitting outside by a pond! You can tell a lot of work has been put into this property! It's absolutely beautiful! I can see us spending a day here!! We'll be back, soon!!!

Small but mighty- I feel this way about plenty of small businesses, but this one is very interesting! Whiskey was the goal and they crushed it! A Florida Rye Whiskey that is farm to table, with the rye grown right there on the farm, it is one of the smoothest rye whiskeys I have ever had! And then there is the rum and the moonshine! The moonshine that is the base of the whiskey and only a heart cut! Plus all the extra in the gift shop! Coffee, jams, hand rolled cigars, bbq rub, and more! Plus the 2 bars outside offering beer and wine, plenty of space to spread out, play games, grab a bite from the food truck or enjoy some live entertainment. Please- read the information on their website about when they are open and how to get to their remote distillery. Google maps does not know how to get you there, but if you read the directions on the website you won't have any trouble getting there, and yes- you leave the paved road and drive through no where Florida! I'm always down for an adventure- so this did not deter me. It also helped that 2 other distilleries bragged about this distillery! If you don't have the Florida Distillery Tour map- you need to get one!

THIS PLACE IS SUPER CUTE! You almost feel like you're not in Florida. First thing you should know is that it does take a bit of time to get to this gem, just look for the little little green signs on the way there when you're on the long road. Besides that, this places is immaculate and stunning . I'm going to start taking my family and friends that visit to this place. The staff and owners were very nice as well. If you go when it starts to get cold bring a nice big coat or a blanket to sit by the bonfire.

This a perfect little day date location. The staff was amazing and very kind. The drinks were of course, perfect! But watch out for the moonshine, it will get you. Lol. The reason behind a 3 rating and not a 4 or 5 was based off of two things. First, location, location, location. NJOY was very difficult to find. Google maps takes you to a hunting location. Then when I put the address in a again it took me to a gated golf community. Lucky the guard at the gate was knowledgeable of where the distillery was located (he said everyone ends up there) I was able to find it passed the hunting location. Second was the food. We had the polish sausages with the pirogies. The food was ok at best. Missing seasoning and the bread was slightly hard. I will be visiting this little gem in the near future and will update my review if the food is any better. Nothing they can do about location, other than maybe larger signs at the beginning of the hunting trail.

Hard to find but well worth the trip to find it. Five mile dirt road drive with small signs pointing the way pass trees and open skies with nothing around. This place is like finding an oasis in a desert! The staff is friendly! Take a tour and get to the tasting room. Don't forget to take home a bottle or two of your favorites. They also have tshirts, stickers, hats, and lots of goodies for sale as well

This is the map we received from guard house in Glen Lakes.
    Ashley C.

GPS initially took us to Glen Lakes community. The guard gave us a map to the actual entry at Chassahowitzka Wildlife Management Area. It's about another 15 minute drive in the middle of nowhere. When we arrived, the sign said they were closed until April 8. Long drive for nothing.

Truly takes "FloGro" to another level... being "deep roots" & highly invested in this state (& well traveled) --- HIGHLY Recommend this place irregardless of the county/state/ country you're in... you'll NOT be disappointed in this HIDDEN Gem

We are working our way through the Florida Distillery Trail and it's great because we are hitting up distilleries we might not have known about! If you don't know about the passport- https://www.floridacraftspirits.org/florida-distillery-trail/ here it is! The line up- my favorites, Rum and Bourbon/Whiskey. Heck YEAH. I skipped the white rum and went right into the spiced and dark rums- good gracious. The flavors! The dark rum actually tasted more like a good bourbon! Something I have found with some well made dark rums. Same notes, same mouth feel. The bourbon was also delicious and they make a single malt whiskey (Scotch Whiskey without it being called that) and it was seriously hard to pick a favorite! We snagged a bottle of the spiced rum and I convinced John to go with his gut and grab the single malt. He was leaning bourbon, because I lean bourbon- but the single malt would be something a little different on our bar. I would 100% buy these spirits again and I believe Paul said they are carried in ABC liquor stores- so maybe I won't have to drive to Ocala to get it! Yay. Happy stop on the trail!

They had quite a lineup for tasting. And the samples are free! I enjoyed their orange blossom sweet tea vodka. The orange blossom makes it a little different than the usual sweet tea vodkas. On the menu, they have a John Daly cocktail. As a golfer and a fan of golf, I was destined to enjoy this cocktail. And their prices! Talk about a bargain! My drink was only $7.99. We had a few more samples and then I spied their seasonal frozen drink. It's a spiked "hot" cocoa! That frozen drink was so good. You could not detect the vodka in it but I'm sure it would kick in. I just had a sip of my husband's. So good. The store is super cute. They were busy decorating the place with Christmas stuff- even though Christmas is literally around the corner! Haha. A bit late but much appreciated. They have quite a bit of merchandise. Some is loggerhead and some is just cute gift type- for example- their tea towels are funny! I grabbed two for Christmas gifts. They have shirts, coffee mugs and tons of bar glassware. You can even buy bottles of their spirits. The place is a bit small. There's a Large table that seats about ten people and then standing room. You can see right into their distillery from the windows. Their spirits are offered at a few local restaurants, including The district, which is next door. Parking is along the street. The little lot across from them is gone- it's undergoing construction to be some retail building. Definitely stop by when you're in the area. Have a free taste, get a cocktail and pick up some gifts. We had a trip down to the Tampa area to see family and decided we would hit them up on the way home- it's about 20 minutes off I75 heading West on 40 and then you enter the twilight zone. We are cruising through farmland and John points at the navigation and says look at that huge community out here in the middle of nowhere. A diamond shaped pattern of roads and intersections appeared on the screen and that is where GPS was taking us- into this what-appeared-to-be neighborhood. Follow that nav- trust me. Aw the road changes from paved to gravel you will feel like you slipped into the twilight zone or a horror flick or simply that there is no way a distillery is out there. It is. The property was selected based on water supply- spring water. It was never intended to host customers, but Fish Hawk has a wonderful bar setup in the backyard. Yes- you are going to a farm/home/working distillery. Pro tip- call ahead for reservations and have no other plans for the day. You will be treated as old friends and the conversation will be fun, entertaining and real. The samples of Whiskey, Rum, Vodka, Brandy & Absinthe will keep the conversation flowing, as will the craft cocktails, expertly made. The Old Fashioned was divine! And I loved my color changing Lemon Drop! This will probably be the most interesting distillery find ever for me & that's saying A LOT. Matthew was waving us in from the road and was so entertaining, his son behind the bar made sure we had our samples and cocktails and a few toasts were made. Conversation waxed on and the light dimmed. How long have we been here??? Just before the sunset we did a quick tour of the facility- they had a lighting strike that forced a remodel and things were temporarily out of place. That didn't stop Matthew from educating us! My favorites: Conquistador 1513- John and I tried 2 different batches of this whiskey and the one I had was bottled this year and so smooth. It's 100% Oat mash bill using half smoked and half rolled Oats from farmers in Northern Florida and aged with barrels and chips ot create a smokey oatmeal finish. I bought this bottle and it will be one of my most prized bottles on my bar. Marion 106 Black- This is a much higher proof fruit based brandy- deep flavors that linger and fill your mouth, I fully expected to buy this and I probably will next time I visit! It's tangerine based and delightful. La Septima- a bold Black Rum. A friend of the owner popped in and chatted for a bit and said to make sure I try this rum, the he had a bottle on his bar because it is so good. I LOVE rum. Whiskey, bourbon and rum are my go-to choices. They had 4 different rums and I only sampled this one and I took this bottle home. I loved the warmth in this bottle. I even convinced another guest to try it when he had his mind made up to buy a bottle of whiskey only. He took home both! Any of my friends who enjoy tastings- I will certainly send here! Worth the day trip from Jacksonville for sure! There is so much more to say~ but this is already a lengthy review!

The owner is a likable guy who enjoys telling stories and interacting with the guests. His story about the origin of the term "shot" to describe a portion of liquor is very entertaining. There's only one caveat about this place, it could use some... tidying up! I get the whole rustic vibe, but the tour area is very crowded, mostly with buckets, random tools and... kinda junky. I really want to stress the good aspects of this distillery, namely the people. You get a great idea of the steps involved in making liquor presented in an interesting and entertaining tour. Devon, our guide, explained that every part of the process is guided by their hands. They begin with hand-selected grain, then hand-mix and hand-mash the grain to get the perfect blend before distillation begins. We were warmly greeted by Devon, and we were each offered a taste of Kozuba Lemon Flavored Vodka which was very fresh tasting. Definitely there was no chemical aftertaste as I often find in the commercially flavored vodkas. We walked into the distillery and learned that this dream started in 2005 in Poland. Zbigniew "Papa" Kozuba, a biochemist and businessman, retired and moved to the countryside. While there, Papa began tinkering with cordials, continuing a tradition of infused spirits that many Polish families honored. His sons joined him and Papa and his sons turned the hobby into a business. After a few years producing a successful line of cordials, they ordered a hybrid copper still and shortly thereafter, they were distilling vodkas. Later on, the first Polish single malt whiskeys and other varieties of the brown spirit evolved. The family decided to move the business to Florida's Grand Central District - an area thirsty for small-batch, local spirits. They have two handmade German hybrid copper stills which they brought to the U.S., one is for vodkas and the other is used for whiskey. I recommend that everyone take a tour to learn for yourself about the processes. We headed back to the tasting room and experienced several delicious types of vodkas, whiskeys, Sunshine State Agave and cordials, etc. The BarBox Negroni and the Cranberry & Juniper Flavored Vodka were my favorite that day. I'm looking forward to the bourbon being ready soon too. We stopped in their on-site store and did not leave empty-handed.
