I am so glad we stopped and explored this beautiful family owned and operated establishment. We brought home homemade apple and blueberry pies and hands down it tasted like it came right from my grandmothers kitchen. Hot and super fresh. We did try a few moonshines and settled with bringing home the blueberry moonshine. The Aunt of the establishment makes beautiful mugs ! you will have to go to actually see there beauty. Grace was really nice and told us about the blueberry picking that is in mid April. I look forward to going back soon. Thank you Grace for your Southern Hospitality

Great service, very friendly, good drinks and a cool little store. We will definitely come back whenever we are in town

One of the two blueberry pies we purchased. Had to pour the liquid down the drain to get a piece of the pie into a bowl.

Very nice young lady. Informative. Purchased 2 small blueberry pies. Got home and cut a piece--- nothing but watery blue liquid. The box she placed them in was soaking wet when we got home and we could not understand why the cardboard was soggy until we cut into the pie! Ive gotten pies there before and were always good but these were sadly missing ingredients that hold a pie filling together and the blueberries were tough.

On a lovely Sunday morning, my son and I decided to take a quick road trip out to a local distillery. The shop itself is by no means huge. In fact, it seems about the size of a gift shop just outside any ride at a theme park. However, the variety of stuff was pretty great. Freshly jarred pickles, homemade bbq sauce, all types of jams and jellies. But the main attraction is the moonshine. There are all sorts of flavors and free samples available. I did not partake in a sample due to stomach issues that day, but I did swipe up a bottle of locally procured moonshine for $35. A nice addition to their selection was one of "flavor enhancers" they offered. Such as a lemonade with raspberry and lime that will go well with their moonshine (watermelon or original flavor). There are others available as well. No gift shop is complete without a tee shirt available featuring the alluring Yalaha Bootlegger Gal. Unfortunately, they didn't have our size available. Plus! If you check in on Yelp while the cashier rings you up; they off $2 off your purchase. It's a win/win. I had read that fresh blueberries were available- but none while we were visiting. I assume they're out of season. All the more reason to visit again sometime later.

    This distillery is amazing.

The lady running the store was amazing, the whiskey tasting was really good. I highly recommend this distillery.

My homemade deep dish organic butter crust blueberry pie, using 2 pounds of berries.

I was happy to be able to find a u-pick blueberry farm, and not pay $5 or more for 6 ounces of organic berries at the store. However, I will caution you to go early in the day, as I went on a Saturday about 2:30pm, and it was so picked over, it took two people to pick a tad over 2 pounds in ONE HOUR. Some rows were zero berries half way down an aisle, and some bushes had only 2 or 3 ripe berries total, and no large berries to speak of at all. The spaces between bushes were serious weeds, and being an avid gardener, I couldn't help thinking about all the soil nutrients they were sucking up. I know you can't use weed killer, but what about just pulling them out? Anyway, it took all the 2lbs of berries I picked to make one deep dish pie, and in the end, I was very happy with that! The berries were $5lb. This is not located near my home, and I went because I was in Leesburg, 15 minutes away. They had moonshine too, live entertainment, and I saw a bag of clams that were $14 that I wanted to buy when I was done picking, and forgot! I would stop here again if in the area, but definitely early on the morning. Here's a picture of the organic pie I made. They sold mini pies there for $6.50 that looked killer.

    Take home some moonshine.
    Bob W.

Watch the magic. They take their organic blueberries and make their own moonshine. And you can see the process and sample the results! Several flavors (!) including pecan. Also pies, souvenirs, and of course the moonshine. Good parking, and the ride to get their - bike or car -- is wonderfully scenic.

If you don't know about the passport- https://www.floridacraftspirits.org/florida-distillery-trail/ here it is! The line up- my favorites, Rum and Bourbon/Whiskey. Heck YEAH. I skipped the white rum and went right into the spiced and dark rums- good gracious. The flavors! The dark rum actually tasted more like a good bourbon! Something I have found with some well made dark rums. Same notes, same mouth feel. The bourbon was also delicious and they make a single malt whiskey (Scotch Whiskey without it being called that) and it was seriously hard to pick a favorite! We snagged a bottle of the spiced rum and I convinced John to go with his gut and grab the single malt. He was leaning bourbon, because I lean bourbon- but the single malt would be something a little different on our bar. I would 100% buy these spirits again and I believe Paul said they are carried in ABC liquor stores- so maybe I won't have to drive to Ocala to get it! Yay. Happy stop on the trail!

They had quite a lineup for tasting. And the samples are free! I enjoyed their orange blossom sweet tea vodka. The orange blossom makes it a little different than the usual sweet tea vodkas. On the menu, they have a John Daly cocktail. As a golfer and a fan of golf, I was destined to enjoy this cocktail. And their prices! Talk about a bargain! My drink was only $7.99. We had a few more samples and then I spied their seasonal frozen drink. It's a spiked "hot" cocoa! That frozen drink was so good. You could not detect the vodka in it but I'm sure it would kick in. I just had a sip of my husband's. So good. The store is super cute. They were busy decorating the place with Christmas stuff- even though Christmas is literally around the corner! Haha. A bit late but much appreciated. They have quite a bit of merchandise. Some is loggerhead and some is just cute gift type- for example- their tea towels are funny! I grabbed two for Christmas gifts. They have shirts, coffee mugs and tons of bar glassware. You can even buy bottles of their spirits. The place is a bit small. There's a Large table that seats about ten people and then standing room. You can see right into their distillery from the windows. Their spirits are offered at a few local restaurants, including The district, which is next door. Parking is along the street. The little lot across from them is gone- it's undergoing construction to be some retail building. Definitely stop by when you're in the area. Have a free taste, get a cocktail and pick up some gifts. We had a trip down to the Tampa area to see family and decided we would hit them up on the way home- it's about 20 minutes off I75 heading West on 40 and then you enter the twilight zone. We are cruising through farmland and John points at the navigation and says look at that huge community out here in the middle of nowhere. A diamond shaped pattern of roads and intersections appeared on the screen and that is where GPS was taking us- into this what-appeared-to-be neighborhood. Follow that nav- trust me. Aw the road changes from paved to gravel you will feel like you slipped into the twilight zone or a horror flick or simply that there is no way a distillery is out there. It is. The property was selected based on water supply- spring water. It was never intended to host customers, but Fish Hawk has a wonderful bar setup in the backyard. Yes- you are going to a farm/home/working distillery. Pro tip- call ahead for reservations and have no other plans for the day. You will be treated as old friends and the conversation will be fun, entertaining and real. The samples of Whiskey, Rum, Vodka, Brandy & Absinthe will keep the conversation flowing, as will the craft cocktails, expertly made. The Old Fashioned was divine! And I loved my color changing Lemon Drop! This will probably be the most interesting distillery find ever for me & that's saying A LOT. Matthew was waving us in from the road and was so entertaining, his son behind the bar made sure we had our samples and cocktails and a few toasts were made. Conversation waxed on and the light dimmed. How long have we been here??? Just before the sunset we did a quick tour of the facility- they had a lighting strike that forced a remodel and things were temporarily out of place. That didn't stop Matthew from educating us! My favorites: Conquistador 1513- John and I tried 2 different batches of this whiskey and the one I had was bottled this year and so smooth. It's 100% Oat mash bill using half smoked and half rolled Oats from farmers in Northern Florida and aged with barrels and chips ot create a smokey oatmeal finish. I bought this bottle and it will be one of my most prized bottles on my bar. Marion 106 Black- This is a much higher proof fruit based brandy- deep flavors that linger and fill your mouth, I fully expected to buy this and I probably will next time I visit! It's tangerine based and delightful. La Septima- a bold Black Rum. A friend of the owner popped in and chatted for a bit and said to make sure I try this rum, the he had a bottle on his bar because it is so good. I LOVE rum. Whiskey, bourbon and rum are my go-to choices. They had 4 different rums and I only sampled this one and I took this bottle home. I loved the warmth in this bottle. I even convinced another guest to try it when he had his mind made up to buy a bottle of whiskey only. He took home both! Any of my friends who enjoy tastings- I will certainly send here! Worth the day trip from Jacksonville for sure! There is so much more to say~ but this is already a lengthy review!

The owner is a likable guy who enjoys telling stories and interacting with the guests. His story about the origin of the term "shot" to describe a portion of liquor is very entertaining. There's only one caveat about this place, it could use some... tidying up! I get the whole rustic vibe, but the tour area is very crowded, mostly with buckets, random tools and... kinda junky. I really want to stress the good aspects of this distillery, namely the people. You get a great idea of the steps involved in making liquor presented in an interesting and entertaining tour.
