I can't say enough good things about Taste of Portugal. About a month ago, I stopped in hoping for their cheese bread, but he mentioned he had stopped making it because it wasn't selling. Fast forward to today... they had it again! I was so excited I grabbed two. They're small (about $1.50 each), but absolutely delicious. Just a heads up--they're made with tapioca, so you have to enjoy that slightly chewy texture. This time, I ordered through Uber Eats for pickup--3 sandwiches and 2 pastries--and everything was fantastic. Super fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. My only small complaint is that I wish more of their pastries were available to order online, because I'd definitely try even more. Overall, this place is a hidden gem. Authentic, homemade, and consistently delicious. I'll definitely keep coming back!

I called in the morning time and by 2:30 p.m. the cake was ready for pick up. I didn't catch the name of the lady who I spoke with on the phone but she was very kind and helpful. The chocolate mousse birthday cake we ordered was fresh and delicious as can be. The cake reminded me of a softer kind of brownie with the best tasting mousse on it. It was perfection, flavor and texture wise alike. Today we visited for dessert and I must say you simply cannot go wrong with whatever you order here. We shared a tiramisu, a dulce de leche/tres leches cake and a Portuguese donut.. I could not decide which I liked most. They were all THAT good. Again the woman who attended me was patient while explaining the desserts to us and the establishment was clean and inviting too. I believe we've found another small business to gladly support. Maybe we'll check out one of their sandwiches next time. If you're in the area you must check them out!

Tidal might have my favorite beers of any of them. I've become one of those IPA people over the years, and they're great with those, from West Coast to Hazy--but they're also solid with other styles, and seem to be particularly good with British styles, from ESBs to "mild" ales. The service there's always been fast and friendly, and I like the place's atmosphere in general: it's rarely too loud but it's still lively, making it good for both sitting down with a beer to do some writing and for chatting up people on the admittedly rare times I'm being chatty. While there's little food within walking distance--a problem with virtually any Florida suburb--there's a lot within short driving distance, and a taco truck recently set up semi-permanently in the parking lot. (I haven't had a chance to try them yet.)

Tidal Brewing isn't much on atmosphere, but they make up for it with a solid bunch of beers. Tidal is located in an old, somewhat rundown strip mall that is next to an abandoned gas station. Some of the parking places were the actual gas pumps or former gas pumps. The inside is fine with an assortment of board games, tables, booths and a bar. The beer is really good. I asked for a flight, but they don't have flight boards. You can get as many 5 oz pours as you want in pint glasses. The only issue here is carrying 6-pint glasses to your booth. No biggie. I was a big fan of their Horchata Porter, Turbid Waters (hazy IPA) and the Dunkelweissen. Pretty tasty. There is no food onsite but there was a Marco's pizza in the strip mall, some shady looking food truck around the corner, and a Latin restaurant next door. If I was just judging on the beer, 4 stars. The server was nice and if I was a local, I'd be a regular.
