I wanted to say that I would fully recommend NJ Pipe Doctor. I actually knew the co-owner of the company Mr. Chen prior to him coming over to this company. He was the owner of a HVAC company previously. Now, him and Stephen both provided an excellent schematic and solution to my AC ductwork in the attics (I have 2) and invoice on May 19. The follow 27 and 28th Ed and Pablo, both senior HVAC technicians came over and proceeded to finish up the job. They were both extremely professional and setup everything so it was not a mess and cleaned up extremely well after they were finished. Ed took the time to fully explain everything to me and show me around. When the job was done the air was FINALLY blasting downstairs. After literally 10 years in my home my central air finally works! Waste of $79.. Had frozen pipe. Tech said 45 mi - 1 hour. Price OVER $500. Also inquired about a new faucet module for a Moon shower valve. Price over $400. Called the plumber that just worked on my neighbors frozen pipe (who charged him $200). He came in about 3 hours. Defrosted my pipe. The shower quit dripping and he said it dripped because it needs pressure on both sides and being the hot side had no pressure due to the freeze, it dripped. HIS PRICE FOR THE ENTIRE JOB $225.00. I needed sump pump replaced. Was told it would cost $1800. I told the tech that was too much and was then asked what I thought was fair. I panicked and said $1000 which was accepted and the work was completed promptly. However, in hindsight $1000 is a lot for a $300 sump pump and one hour of labor. My fault for not researching the price, but I was clearly ripped off. The work was done well as far as I can tell, but was very poor value. ***RED FLAG*** most of their positive reviews on Facebook are either from people that live outside the US or have empty Facebook pages OR BOTH!! Beware of this company. I had an emergency call and it cost me $220 to have nothing done but give me three overpriced estimates and two of which had nothing to do with the issue. I ended up using my regular honest place that I go to for all of my plumbing and HVAC needs and they charged me $700.00 for everything and fixed the issue in less than 1 hour. This company wanted to charge me an option of $2,000 or $3,000 and said it was a huge job just to replace a leaking kitchen faucet. Glad I want with my intuition and did not go through with the work. I found horror story reviews on Yelp and it seems like this is a scamming company based on the Yelp reviews and my experience. Also their estimates show $199.00 membership fees added on. this company is the scum of the earth. their google reviews have to be made by friends and family because they robbed me. They didn't do their job properly and charged insane prices. I called to have a line clog cleared out and paid extra for the camera, they still have not provided the camera 3 weeks after I paid for it. When I called to complain about the clog not being fixed and the camera still not being provided, they told me I'd have to pay again even though the guy didn't do the proper job the first time and they lied and said that the camera wasn't part of the price but "complimentary", even though the plumber told me it was an extra charge. this company is awful, half a mortgage payment for 15 minutes of labor, these are disgusting people. read more

*** Beware Terrible Company*** I contacted NJ Pipe Doctor over a July 4th weekend for a sewer line problem. They diagnosed a collapsed sewer line which needed a complete replacement. Brian the sales rep/supervisor reviewed my homeowners insurance and said it was one of the best he had seen and that the work will be covered by insurance and that I would probably make money. He told me to wait on contacting insurance as it would delay the job. Brian quoted a price of $42,000. and said "don't worry it will all be covered by insurance 100%" . He also said that he was installing a water filtration system at no cost which I'm still waiting for it to be installed along with my utility room toilet which was never re-installed after their removal. Brian asked me if I had any extra flooring from previous work at the house to use in my utility room when he takes pictures for insurance, to scam the insurance company so I would get a free floor. (I declined). Brian is a savvy bullshit artist do not believe anything he says and don't use this company and always get a second opinion and price quote. I write this so others do not get taken advantage of. I will be working with the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs to get this job completed and bring to light the fraudulent practices that were used by this company. Multiple invoices were produced and sent out over the course of months one totaling $42,000 and another totaling $65,985.31. Charged me over $800 to snake out sewer line. I even had to lend them an extension cord! Also recommended trench-method replacement which would have cost $$$$$ and ruined my yard. I spoke with a construction company that specializes in sewer pipes, and they said "no, don't do that, we can burst it at less cost." Other reviews here agree that NJ Pipe Doctor should not be let anywhere near your sewer line. read more

I typically only write reviews for exceptionally good or very poor service, and unfortunately for us this falls into the latter category. We have been stuck in a four-month nightmare with NJ Pipe Doctor including spiraling costs, delay after delay and poor-quality work. If I could go back in time, I would never have chosen to work with this company and felt compelled to warn others about our experience. We initially hired NJ Pipe Doctor to fix an issue with our kitchen sink. While the plumber was here, we also asked them to look at our toilet as we were having a separate issue. The plumber Bryan advised us that we should replace our sewer line immediately as it was very old, damaged and could cause serious issues if left untreated. At the time of the work, we had a 2-week-old baby and Bryan assured us the work would be done quickly and we would not be without plumbing for long given our circumstances. Our initial estimate seemed expensive but based on prior reviews we thought we were paying a premium for high quality and quick work. Almost immediately after the crew broke ground, we knew that was not the case. The one-day job turned into a three-day ordeal, while our house looked like a warzone with construction debris and dirt strewn all about. While replacing the sewer line, the crew accidentally destroyed our water line and told us that required an emergency repair. We were told the issue was caused by a third party mistakenly flagging the water line, and that third party admitted fault and agreed to reimburse us for this part of the job. This water line added several thousand to our bill, which we agreed to under duress with the understanding that we would be reimbursed later. After several months, we were offered a paltry $288 settlement and left with the feeling that NJ Pipe Doctor padded the bill and took advantage of our situation. After the initial three-day job, we had to repeatedly call NJ Pipe Dr back to our house to correct their work. I lost count how many times the plumbers failed to return phone calls, showed up hours late to appointments, or no-showed altogether after we cleared our schedules for their appointment. Most notably the first time it rained; water gushed into our basement around the sewer line hole for nearly 48 hours. The drilling of that hole also added several thousand to our initial estimate which still has me scratching my head. I have called several times over the past few months asking to speak with the owner of the company and have always been told that the owner is not involved in the business and I'm already speaking to the people in charge. This work cost us upwards of $40,000 with very little covered by insurance, a significant increase over the initial estimate. This will go down as one of the most expensive purchases of our lives, and we can't believe we paid that much for the quality of service and craftsmanship that we received. Editing to Add: (9/29/2023) Unfortunately for us, the nightmare with NJ Pipe Doctor continues. NJ Pipe Doctor replaced the toilet in our primary bathroom during our 1st project. The job was not completed correctly, as the plumber did not secure the toilet with enough wax rings, causing a massive leak in our kitchen ceiling. Of course, NJ Pipe Doctor said our bathtub was causing the leak because they would never install a toilet without the proper seal. But lo and behold, the remediation company confirmed the leak was coming directly from our toilet through infrared camera. We have been out of our home for a week as our kitchen ceiling needs to dry from the leak and be replaced. NJ Pipe Doctor responded to my first review: "Please call our office and we will make this right..." For the record, NJ Pipe Doctor has never done the right thing in any scenario. They continue to place blame and not hold themselves accountable for the faulty work they have completed. Plenty of other plumbing companies do good work, are honest, reliable, and act ethically in their business practices. NJ Pipe Doctor is not one of them! read more

I hired NJ Pipe Doctor to fix a leaking faucet. Their technician spent 30 minutes replacing two valves and water supply lines, and charged me $400. However, the leak was actually coming from the pull-out faucet, not the valves or supply lines. Even I could clearly see where the leak was when I checked under the sink afterward. Unfortunately, I was in a rush for an appointment and didn't verify the work before the technician left (my oversight). When I realized the leak was still there and called them back, they refused to acknowledge their mistake and insisted I pay another $300 in labor charges. I declined and decided to go with a different company instead. I will never use NJ Pipe Doctor again--poor service and dishonest business practices. read more

I have used NJ Pipe Doctor for different issues. First one was for a broken outside faucet. Ray was quick to respond and after assessing the situation sent someone out the next day to solve all the problems. Relocating the valve to a better location than the nearly impossible location under the sink, has been wonderful. Boy was I happy I had someone reliable and trustworthy to call for help when a pipe broke under the slab of my house. All the guys handled this disaster with professionalism and were so respectful. Trenching though to slab of my kitchen, I was kept informed throughout. They were punctual and let me know their plans as they progressed. They have since replaced valves, a faucet, pipes with all the expert skills they all seem to have. They explain the plan or options and are eager reassure you. They are the BEST at all your plumbing needs. I would and have recommended NJ Pipe Doctor without hesitation or reserve. Integrity best describes NJ PIPE DOCTOR. read more

The only company you need. Trust these guys so much, I have their number saved in my cell phone. We first used them for a cracked water pipe on the exterior of our home. They were in and out in an hour, extremely professional and charged a fair price. Before he left, Ray let me know they also handle HVAC. Sure enough this summer, our upstairs unit froze over. Ray sent Lei to help and he added us to them end of his day to ensure our problem was remedied quickly during the heat wave. Turned out to be user error/ new filter size needed so they didn't charge us. We made sure to compensate Lei for his time. This is a really great small business to support, as they are fairly priced, quick to act and most importantly - trustworthy! read more

Do yourself a favor and don't even call this company with simple plumbing problems. We had a problem with our sewer pipe and they came to take a look, telling us that the service call is $150, which, fine, everyone charges that much. The guy came and put a snake down the line and after he was already doing it, told us that the charge for that is about $400, which is way more than we've ever paid for this service. Then, he sent a camera down the line for a minute to look at our sewer trap and said that since we were getting that camera inspection done the same day, they had a special package that would only cost $125 extra on top of all the other costs. They don't tell you the price of the visit before or during the visit. Later that night, their boss sends us the bill for almost 1k! The guy was in our house for literally 30 minutes, pulled basically nothing out with the snake, and didn't fix any problems or do any real work. One thousand dollars. I've paid that much for someone to knock down an entire wall and replace a leaky pipe before. Not for a 30 minute visit. These guys are complete ripoffs and charge completely unreasonable prices. After questioning them about their pricing, they immediately waived the camera inspection fee, which was, by the way, at least $100 higher on the bill than the worker told us it would be. The total price was still more than double what any other plumber ever charged us for the exact same amount of work. Find someone else. read more

I was closing on my house and it was recommended I get a sewer line scope by my attorney. These guys came out promptly, ran a scope, and found a collapsed sewer line. Then provided me with a video and repair estimate to show to our legal council. This ended up saving me upwards of $18,000 down the road, since legally it had to be repaired by the seller / insurance. If you are buying a house and not doing this first, you are taking a huge risk. read more
