This is the second time I had Plumbing Solutions solve a problem for us, and like the first time, they hit a home run. The first time, about 2 years ago, I called on a weekend evening as water was coming in through a hole that had opened up in a basement storeroom wall. In real time on that call, they walked me through some quick diagnostics and helped me stabilize the situation for the night - and they were onsite with a crew at 7am the next morning. This turned out to be a complex job involving insurance and a separate construction company, and Plumbing Solutions was there every step of the way, 100% professional about communications, work and excellent completion of the job. That particular issue had to do with the main drain from my house to the outside septic system, with the pipe having failed inside foundation wall due to mild earthquake activity we experienced a few years earlier. The team, led by Sergio in this case, did a remarkable job. Today I had another issue come up. The 40 year old outdoor hose bib / hydrant was failing. I called at around 10:30am on Monday, found they had an available slot between 11am and 1pm - and they sent another excellent plumber, Eli, to tackle this. He arrived at about 11:20am, and I tagged along as he started examining the indoor view of the plumbing that connects to the outdoor faucet / bib. I had the basement finished many years ago, so we could only see parts of the pipes where opening the dropped ceiling exposed them. What we quickly determined was that the original builders had not made it easy at all to get to the pipes in this area, and in fact it would be necessary to remove a full 4-ft x 8-ft section of sheetrock, and even then accessing the pipe would be difficult. We discussed this, and Eli suggested an alternative - diverting the water supply to a new pipe to the outside, and installing a new hose bib / hydrant, this time in a way that made access (still hidden in the dropped ceiling) reasonable. Once we agreed to this, he tackled the work quickly and thoroughly. From start to finish, communication was great, creative and thoughtful problem solving were excellent, and execution was perfect. The entire job was done quickly with a great outcome. From my contact with the firm on the phone, through every instance dealing with management and plumbers, my experience with Plumbing Solutions has been excellent. I'll be using them again in the future, and will happily recommend them without reservation. read more

We had an after-hours issue with a malfunctioning sump pump and the pit was rapidly filling with water. The answering service informed us that Don was the on-call technician and would call my cell phone. When he called he said, "Yeah I just really don't want to come out. I'm trying to avoid coming out. And I'm not going to bother my guys. I'm the one on call." When I said to him, "So you're a 24 hour plumbing company but you're telling me you simply don't feel like coming out when you're on call?" He responded, " Yeah, I'm not coming out - sorry." We've used Plumbing Solutions before, and although wildly overpriced ($1,200 to replace a toilet), after this encounter with Don it will be the last time we ever use Plumbing Solutions. we had a 75 gallons gas fired water heater in the basement replaced. The tech Sergio did a great job and they cleaned up very well after completing the work. I didn't give them 5 star due to the price charged. For the specific water heater used, the cost is $1350 which I can buy from the distributor, the cost to install and parts was $2400 which was outrageous. for roughly 3-4 hours of labor, it should be less than $1200 even account for post COVID inflation. My fault for not negotiation. when my neighbor gave me their contact information, he mentioned they are good but expensive, I just didn't realize it can be this extreme. The work was inspected by the town's official and passed, but the inspector mentioned the vendor's license expired which means the vendor may not be licensed when I hired them for the work,making it hard to the fact that I was charged that much. anyway the work is good, but watch out, negotiate and make sure their license is renewed if you hire them for work. read more

Sergio came to replace the leaking faucets of my little old corner sink in the bathroom tucked under my stairs. He replaced the old lines to the sink and then had to saw off the bases of the old brass fixtures. First off, many plumbers wanted $80-$90 just to come do an estimate, Plumbing Solutions had a more reasonable $59, which was waived since I had them do the job. Secondly, the work involved undoing some bad work by the previous owner and rebuilding the drains for both bathrooms. The work was done quickly and very neatly. We had a backup in our sewer line, and another plumbing company was pushing us to replace our whole line, which would have cost lots of money and torn up our whole yard. We got referred to PS, and Don came over. He had his guys video the line, and they found that while the line needed to be cleaned out, it was intact and didn't need to be replaced. He recommended that we install a cleanout and do a thorough cleaning of the line. We went ahead, and we also decided to ask him to change out some old leaky plumbing.
