I have NEVER left a review in any salon, if i don't like them i just won't gi back but i had to say something for this place - HORRIBLE!!! Not only did the guy yell at me when i asked if i could see the nail color on one of my fingers before he did my toes (literally yelled at me like i was a child - I'm 46 years old, i just sat there quietly, i never answered him) then when he did my nails i asked if he could cut my cuticles and he said "no, you don't need it". Long wait. They Don't honor your appointment. That is a big turn off and then you have to spend $ and tip. That is a management issue & they need a new person to monitor the schedule. This salon is not sanitary. Nail instruments are not wrapped for each customer individually but are used on multiple customers. The technicians apply dip powder in a communal pot - so unsanitary. The led light isn't supposed to be used after the dip powder but the technicians tell me to use the light. There are no dip powder color samples so you have no idea what the color will really look like. I've been to this place 3 times always hoping for the best but it's the worst nail salon I've ever experienced. The technicians are not friendly and the place is dirty. Never again. read more

They were so rough. Cut my finger many times make me bleed and kept the service going after i kept telling him to stop & that he was making my finger hurt. The one girl doing my toes was so focused on talking she burnt my foot with the UV light. Im not the one to make bad reviews or reviews at all because i don't complain but the service here was just horrible and over priced. After I jumped a few times in pain you would think the older gentleman would stop filing my skin he kept getting frustrated and I feel like he was taking it out on me. I didn't bleed at first but my cuticles were raw. He started painting but then messed up and again he went back in with a file, this time aggressively filing my skin. He got what he wanted I started bleeding he took a whole chunk of skin off and then he finally stopped filing it took him three liquid Band-Aids for my finger to look like this. I'm not the type of person to speak up about things and I tipped him two dollars because that's just the kind of person I am but when I left I cried in my car. Not to mention they told me $18 on the phone and asked for $35 at the register I didn't get the color I picked because he decided to choose a gel nail color instead. First time here in over 5 years and I was very happy! Peter did my nails and one of the girls did my pedicure. Very satisfied with both and will go back again. I had a regular ped, acrylic fill in and gel polish with a design. Price was $80 before tip. read more

There are so many nail places in Toms River and I have been to them all. NJ nails (Pete and Tina) do a phenomenal job. My nails always look beautiful don't break and I never need to go home to do extra filing like I do at other places. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. Unfortunately one employee ruins it now for the future. I sat in a pedicure chair at 4:04pm to get what I thought was a nice relaxing gel pedicure. Turned into a nightmare . As 5:04pm approached and this girl was still hacking away at my toes for no reason with every tool I spoke up and said enough is enough I have no idea what you are still doing as 4 of my cuticles were bleeding. She proceeds to put alcohol on them and it was burning like hell. I spoke to a gentleman who stopped what he was doing with his client and he tried to take over but my cuticles burned so bad I asked him politely to charge me what he had to and I'm done. So I paid $25 to pretty much be tortured and nothing was done. Came home to see 1/2 of the gel still wasn't off and pretty much all of my cuticles were bleeding . Advice to the salon, hire people who know what they are doing ! So needless to say I paid $25 for someone to take 1/2 my gel off cause when I got him and took a close look some was still on even after all of the drilling and picking she did and prob can't get another pedicure for a few weeks cause my toes are shot . Made an appointment for 3:30 for a pedicure. Waited 10 or so minutes and then was told my water was ready so I found my chair and sat down. After 45 minutes, the massage ended and the water got cold. No one said a word to me during this time. Once someone noticed I had taken my feet out of the water, they swung a chair over to my foot bath. I asked for a towel and left. I just sent my 15 year old daughter in for a gel french manicure. My husband just picked her up and I am livid. They put a full set of tips on her, then filed them down to the skin! My daughter didn't know what to say, so didn't say anything. Her nails are shorter than when she walked in! Then charged her $60 (pedi too). She only needed paint on her nails!!! My daughter couldn't understand what she was saying. She has had her nails done many times and never would I let her get tips. I will NEVER go back to this place. read more

And she goes you want nails short and I said that's not what you said and now silence. Needless to say I won't be staying for my Mani after this or ever come back or refer anyone here. Been a client w LAURA for 10 YEARS. Followed her to every business she ever worked at. I appreciated her work and liked her designs. Never really had a problem w her. She was always accommodating and for the most part pleasant w me every time. Until the other day! She fit me in to her schedule on Tuesday 03/16. Needless to say I was grateful that she was willing to see me w/o a scheduled appointment. I walked in and everything seemed fine. I picked out a design from her ig page the EXACT design the only thing I changed was the color. Simple right? Not according to her. I tried to explain what I wanted and it just wasn't getting thru to her. She tried explaining that it wasn't the same and something about a matte design? I was totally lost! Making the situation more confusing. For the life of me I verbally couldn't understand her ! And didn't understand why this was so complicated. In turn she confused me more and everything just seemed to get lost in translation to the point where we both didn't understand what the other was talking about. She began to get impatient w me and started to raise her voice about a stupid matte design . What I was trying to say was I wanted to view the color I had picked in a matte covering. She wasn't getting it and neither was I. She began to get nasty with me and said that I didn't "understand ". No honey U don't "understand ". Learn how to speak English a little bit better before going into the customer service business. I told her not to get nasty w me and she proceeded to abruptly do my nails. And getting more impatient w me bc I smudged a nail on the inside of the UV light, only bc I was distracted and distraught about what just went down. I was trying to be discreet and not to make a scene but was shakey and anxious trying to hide my anger. After she finished I walked over to the sink to finish up. My only thought was to get out of there ASAP! I paid and tipped the nice girl that did my waxing. I usually Venmo a tip to Laura but not this time! I think it's safe to say that I will never be returning to this place and she lost me as a client forever! Oh and FYI this was the sloppiest work she has ever done on my nails. The right thumb nail is bumpy and doesn't match the shape w the rest of the nails. I recommend that u research a manicurist before going to her! Her designs are nice yea but so are other manicurists. This place is by far the worst nail salon in the area! The staff is a bunch of rude, shakey Chinese people. They rush their work, don't listen to what u ask, and keep pushing designs I didn't want. They don't even have real uv lamps for gel nails. They use the cheapest of cheap products. And they are overpriced ( prob why there wasn't anyone there on a Friday) $40 for a gel fill!!! I like it here. My manicures always look good and last. My only issue is there is only one person that does Acrylic fills so a walk in fill is probably not gonna happen. But she does excellent work. It's been 3 weeks and mine still look good. Everyone is very friendly read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. I just recently went to NJ Nails to get a fill for my nails. I have acrylic nails and the acrylic on one of the nails had a crack in it. I asked the gentleman to fix the nail and he said okay but went on to just put the acrylic on top of the crack. The gentleman continued to me very rough with my filing causing me to bleed on my cuticles. I asked for my nails to be square and he continued to make them rounded. I had to go to another nail salon to get a new set put on the day after because my nails were hurting and something did not feel right. When I went to the new salon, to take off my nails they had advised me the original technician from nj nails had damaged my nail bed that had the cracked acrylic by not properly fixing it. When removing the the acrylic from the nail that was cracked they noticed that my nail had almost been fully removed and was bleeding. I will never go back!!! read more
