Our friends ordered Nitza's for their wedding and they raved about how great the staff and service were through the whole process so how can I not write a review! The pizza options are probably the biggest highlight - for our gluten and dairy intolerant friend this is a huge and rare gem of a find. For the wedding not only did they bring a great selection of pizzas but they also had orzo pasta and salad too. The pizzas were all so tasty and well put together. Had an impromptu unannounced family member arrived moving to town and needed to feed the folks ASAP. My other half recommended Nitza's as he's purchased from a number of times. We were situated exactly half way between the two Sherwood Park locations, so I ordered from the one off Wye Rd that my other half has been to. Being celiac - I am not able to tell you how the pie was, but the tired folks all grunted at me in contentment, so... I assume it was good. Smelled awesome. Ordered online, and the pizza arrived WAY faster than the quoted 45 minutes! It was hot - the driver was a very helpful young gent who held the door while we dragged in a bed. I tip a bit more than the 20% extra - they went the extra mile for us and the service was impressive. My other half's only regret was when the nice neighbour kiddo came around selling fundraising vouchers for Pizza, he didn't buy more! I would say that's an endorsement! read more

Stars were only given because the sauce was pretty decent (although there was hardly any on each pizza) and the cheese was cooked well. The service was also fast and they offered a free fountain drink at the till. Other than that, and overall, this pizza/flavour was a major disappointment. We got the 2for1 deal without asking what the price would be and were super shocked when 2 one topping 10" pizzas were $25. They could've been 12", but honestly it would be like how the foot long subs are only 11" The crust looked like it was hand tossed and not cooked in one of those pie pans when we were checking it out online, but it was sub par when we actually got the pizza. The pepperoni on the one pizza had zero flavour and tasted worse than balongna. We had three pieces of pizza each and it was literally like having just one normal sized slice. Love this local small business. They make some awesome pizzas and take care in crafting unique options. Always tasty, decently fast in making it for takeout. They even offer free pop or slushie while you wait for your order. This is gold while it's a small thing, the small things in life are sometimes the best. So I can't believe I have never heard of this place before. I asked on Facebook where would be a good place to take my daughter for lunch who is developmentally delayed. Someone mentioned that Nitza pizza on Sundays allow kids to make their own pizzas if you just donate to the Stollery. We were warmly greeted by the staff and they treated my daughter well. She made her own little pizza while my husband ordered a large un-vegetarian, and I ordered a larger Conner's Delight. The pizza came out promptly and it was delicious. Nice thin crust, good sauce and lots of toppings. And such a great restaurant to support. They do so much for the Stollery in memory of their niece Nitza who used it. I dislike making phone calls to secure meals. I find more mistakes are made this way then through web-based order systems. Unfortunately, Nitza's on Wye doesn't offer online ordering. Fortunately, they've never mistaken our order. The (usually) women who answer the phone do so promptly and repeat my order back to me along with the delivery info. They could stand to speak a little clearer and slower, but I understand they are pretty busy handling both phone and counter orders. Delivery estimates can seem a little long, between 30 and 45 minutes, but the pizzas arrive within that time frame and they are always hot. I've had several of their veggie selections including the "Veghead" (with and without cheese) and the "Greek Popeye". On the latter, I've swapped out the fresh tomatoes (I find them abhorrent on pizza) for banana peppers and sundried tomatoes with no issues, though there seems to be some confusion about whether substitutions are allowed. So far, no one has vetoed my choices. If they ever do, I'll stop ordering here. As a vegetarian, I'm usually have so few options for recipe pizzas (mushrooms on every &@$/ one), I feel I'm being taxed when I create my own variations. Their sauce is excellent, not too sweet, not too stingy. The ingredients are generous and fresh (a little too generous when it comes to the artichokes; I like the 'chokes strained a bit more thoroughly or they make my pizza soggy). I can't speak to the meat recipes, but my partner loves the chicken ranch. He ordered the vegetarian nightmare once and said it was kinda boring. Today, our pizzas arrived in 35 minutes. read more

we purchased several fundraiser coupons to support 4h as Christmas gifts for our family. they have many conditions on the back of the coupon fine print which restrict the use of the coupons - one per household per day, per order, not on Friday or Saturday, only by phone or counter ordering, and at the discretion of the manager. they also had a quick expiry. because my various friends and family members all live in the same town, the Nizas pizza on Wye Road refused to honour the coupons as they had sequential numbers and they said they must have been from the same household. the manager yelled at me when I phoned to ask him to honour my elderly mother in law's coupon. read more

Wish I could give the owner Peter a zero rating! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! We are fairly new to SkipTheDishes and ordered 4 XL Pizzas on Halloween and it was awesome! Then we tried ordering lasagnas this evening. I placed the order at 4:18 to avoid rush hour as we do not live close super close to the location. We waited over an hour to contact the restaurants about our order. We were informed that our order had been ready for over 45 minutes but SkipTheDishes never picked up the order. We were told we could cancel and reorder but we would get the same food. Then Peter got on the phone and was EXTREMELY RUDE! said SkipTheDishes screwed us. We needed to deal with the SkipTheDishes and he was not even supposed to talk to the customers.. then said we were looking for "free food". Sad that he doesn't understand that the order needs to be paid for before the restaurant gets and makes the order. I will NOT BE ORDERING from Nitza's Pizza and will make sure to tell EVERYONE I know about Peter and his comments. Nitza's pizza will definitely go down as one of Alberta's finest. I can see it growing into a larger franchise. Ever since I was a kid (I'm not that old), even when there was just the one location, this was my family's 'go to' pizza. A truly unique recipe; the perfect amount of sauce, meats, cheeses, and vegetables (for the strange ones who eat vegetables). I have grown up eating Nitza's pizza and I can see myself eating it in a senior's home at one point of my life. I highly recommend the food here for anyone looking for a new place to try that will satisfy their taste buds! The poor rating is for treatment of the staff. With first hand experience I can tell you we had to fight with Peter for our daughter to be compensated for the shifts she worked. He wanted to dock her two shifts to pay for the Nitza's T-shirt. His wife was pleading for him to pay she was clearly uncomfortable trying to bridge our expectations and her husbands refusal. Our persistence paid off eventually. His use of profanity directed at these kids is unacceptable. Being a customer previously I had only seen a wonderful side of Peter. Kind, happy and engaging. The owner takes time to visit with the customers, especially my children, they do countless sponsors for the community and gave our hockey team a great party for only ten bucks a person (all you can eat pizza and wings!) I have to say the staff when I went in to get my pizzas were great and friendly. I guess that was to help cover up for the bad pizzas. We had 6 people sitting home waiting to enjoy this so called great pizza and everyone was extremely disappointed. We paid just short of $40 for two large pizzas that were about the size of a couple of 12" and figured that this was not going to be enough to feed us all. To our surprise we pretty much had one whole pizza left because no one liked either one. Our Donair pizza tasted like it had mayonnaise on it instead of donair sauce and who puts red sauce on the Donair pizza. The other meat pizza was just plain bad tasting as well. Pretty bad when our pizza eating dog would not eat either one as well. Needless to say I will not be throwing another $40 dollars to the composte bin again from this place. read more

Food is just okay. Edible, but not something we'd go back for. Also, they automatically add 30% tip to the after-tax amount on the bill. Pretty shady - the cashier even confirmed the "pre-tip" total as we were being charged. If this was meant to compensate them for the pandemic, they should at least be upfront about it. read more

I order from Nitza's all the time. Everything I have had has been great. I have had their donairs, dry ribs, mozza sticks, and of course their pizza. Everything has always been A+ quality, at a good price. My regular is a loaded donair pizza. The loaded donair is always... loaded. Their donair sauce is the perfect balance of acidity and sweetness, and it is poured on there. Their donair meat is great, and competes very well against other donair places. The donair meat is piled onto the pizza. For the price you pay for the loaded donair pizza, it is a great deal. The customer service has always been a major highlight of this establishment. I have walked in and ordered, and I have called. The staff is always friendly, and it seems like they genuinely enjoy being employed there. read more

I don't normally write reviews, but after phoning in with a complaint & being accused of being dishonest & my daughter being accused of being dishonest I felt I need to caution others. After being a long time customer since they opened in Sherwood Park & before in St Albert, I could not accept the treatment my daughter received. When I phoned in to complain the treatment I received was just as rude & angry. I can guarantee if I had walked in he would not have spoken to me in that manner. So here's the deal. a couple of months ago we bought some coupons through a hockey fundraiser for Nitza Pizza . Good cause, support a local business, (one we love), & glad that this business was supporting the community. This is not the first time we have bought these coupons & we also know many in the community who buy them as well. We know how it works, we know you can't use them Fridays,( which is why last friday when all my kids were home we ordered three & paid for them,) and we know one coupon at a time, so we usually order an extra, however tonight my daughter & I were home alone & I was stuck at work, so I phoned her to put some supper on, she asked if we could get a pizza from Nitza's, I said fine but how you going to pick it up ( she doesn't drive yet). She said her friend was over & that is what her family was doing for supper, (because they were both going to their perspective homes they didn't think both of them having a coupon would be an issue) perfect I also told my daughter if she wanted milk she would have to pick up a jug at Macs as we were out( I mean really pizza without milk, you gotta have milk. The girls phoned in their orders would go pick up their perspective pizzas ,then her friend would drop her back off on her way home|(they live just north of us so this made sense. The problem arises when they went to pick up. they found parking at the end of the lot as there was no spots open when they parked, my daughter ran to Mac's and her friend went and grab her pizza. My daughter went to get our pizza and the girl asked how she was going to pay and she gave her the coupon. The owner started yelling at her saying "Are you with the other girl?" & you can't use that. He continued to yell & tell her she was dishonest, everyone was staring at her she said she felt like she had been caught stealing or something.She said he continued to swear and tell her she was f-ing lying and that she was going to pay for that pizza. She tried to explain, and all she got out was umm. By this time she was embarrassed and just wanted to leave so she said fine I can pay and he yelled at her that he didn't want her money, and then walked away telling the girl at the cash to make sure she paid. He accused them of parking down the way so they could hide, and when I phoned in he was saying there were three spots right in front, which my daughter said vacated after they had parked. When I got home after work, I found my daughter crying and very upset, when I inquired why, she explained what took place, so When I phoned in to complain about his assumption, rudeness & foul behaviour towards my daughter he continued to talk over me, when I asked him to let me explain why the girls were together,he started telling me how I was dishonest & that my daughter was a liar. I asked him to please listen to what I had to tell him I had not had a chance to explain, He just kept asking if I was done yet & would not listen. So Sir yes I am so done. I have been in the customer services business for 39 & I have seen it all. So I understand your distrust, however had you actually calmly asked if they were together, she would have explained for lack of better term, they were ride sharing, and no they were not eating supper together. I even offered him the other families phone number to follow up. He didn't want no number. He saw two young girls and jumped to an assumption and a conclusion, which were totally wrong. He also told me I didn't pay for that pizza so he is losing money. Well... first we did pay for our pizza and my daughter brought home a coupon which we also paid $15 for ($4.00 of which goes to the fundraiser) So I think $11.00 for a cheese pizza he did not lose money. He has lost a long time customer who actually promoted his business, which now all stops. We teach our children to not bully in school, I will be damned if I let a business be a bully. Shame on you sir for how you behaved, you may be helping the community, but you are setting a poor example of how to be a human being. If It had been me in your shoes, I would have calmly asked the questions Are you together & did you know the rules of the coupon, they would have been given an opportunity answer, (which I know didn't happen because of how you spoke to me on the phone) Once they explained their position, I probably would have given them the benefit of the doubt & told them that they couldn't do that next time because of untrustworthy customers. read more

I have eaten here twice in the past couple of months and loved it both times. The location is reasonably spacious and quite comfortable if you want to eat-in, and take-out on a Saturday night was ready in under 20 minutes. I'm not a huge pizza fan, but their pizzas are delicious. The crusts are doughy but not too thick, and I didn't find the pizza greasy at all. I normally order from Nitza's when it's pizza night. We enjoy the freshness and the taste of pretty much all of their pizzas. Yes we have tried most of them. Our favorite is the 6 cheese. We don't care for the tomatoes so we order without (normally the tomatoes get soggy by the time they are delivered). The donair pizza is awesome too. It had only one sweet sausage like meat. We also had #31 which I really liked but it was missing the tomatoes. We advised the store and they were disinterested. Our kids love the chicken tenders and fries, two kids (even two adults!) could easily split the portion, it is huge! They always offer free fountain drinks whenever we pick up, another plus! The other night my husband went in to pick up with our son, who was in his soccer attire. The owner was there and he said that if our son only let in two goals next game, he would get a free pizza. It does not get any better than that - made our son's day. This will continue to be our "go-to" take out place.
