Since the original owners sold this location it has really gone downhill. The original Nitza's owners still operate the location in Sherwood Park (last I checked). Prices have gone up, service has gone down, and I don't know why but our orders consistently are missing an ingredient when we order a 2-3 ingredient pizza, that's a bummer. We now prefer Red Swan for pizza in St. Albert. read more

Their product is wayyyyyy overpriced! 2 Large for 2 toppings is about $36 which is 12" inches only. compared to other pizza store most Large size is 16". Placed an ordered in advance for pick up, but they only made 1 pizza. I have to wait for 7 minutes for the other one. Store ambiance is okay but nothing special. read more

Best donair pizza. Fast delivery. Reliable. Fresh toppings. I love nitzas because it is reliable, fast, consistent and delicious. I have ordered here so many times in a bind starving at work and they have delivered us pizza within 30 minutes. Their delivery service is outstanding and they are always on time! Toppings are always fresh and plentiful. Crust is crunchy. Dough holds well despite the plentiful toppings. They make a wide variety of pizzas and I have been lucky to try most of them (generous doctors). But my favourite by far is the donair pizza with extra sauce. Its outstanding and I almost cant resist it if I drive by this place bc its that's good. It sounds weird but it works. I have gotten the whole sturgeon hospital addicted to this pizza. The donair here are not very good. the size is fine but the cheese tastes strange and the donair sauce, if you get any at all, doesn't taste like donair sauce. it tastes like garlic mayo. the lettuce is very soggy and wilted and the tomatoes were not fresh either. the pizzas are not what they used to be under the original owners standards. like most restaurants now a days, the modern franchise buyers buy a place and water down the quality so bad it becomes apparent that going elsewhere for food is ideal. avoid if you are undecided. just avoid. it's consistently bad here. read more

Wonder where the previous staff has gone? They used to greet you as you walked in, smile and offer kiddos a small slush or pop for free. You could sit down, watch a game while they prepared your order. Went in last week and no longer giving kiddos slushes, no smile. They'll take your order and you can go. Seems like they have a large number of staff in the back. Their fries don't seem to have the same seasoning. They used to be a large part of this community but don't seem to be as much now. A great family owned and operated pizzeria - with a splash of donairs, pasta, and slushes. The current owner took over the business after his father passed away. The pizzeria is very involved in their local community with sponsorships of various volunteer events. My brother-in-law took us there. We were a family of three adults and five kids. The interior was pretty basic but you can tell they are used to accommodating big groups so we easily had seating room amongst the table and chairs. Seemed like an ideal place to have a sports team outing. All pizza are 2 for 1 and very affordable. So it's a good deal. We had a Donair and a Vegetarian's Nightmare pizza. The kids received slushes as well. The pizza crust was good - moist, crunchy, and tasty. The donair pizza was unique - good helping of meat and a LOT of their homemade donair sauce. The Vegetarian Nightmare was loaded with meat - but didn't feel excessively greasy. The owner was very friendly and the staff extremely accommodating - helping out with hot sauce, parm, and chilli flake extras. Next time you are thinking about ordering from Pizza Hut or Panago, I would recommend giving these guys a try. We love supporting locally owned and operated businesses - and will definitely be back. A special came in the mail today and I ordered with 1 extra topping, for 1$, she put me in hold for 3 minutes. She finally told me $40.50. I said again, to her I ordered a #1 special for $24.95 plus 1 extra topping, she put me on hold for 20ish secs then said it will cost $27.95. I said perfect. 40 mins later the greatdriver gave me the bill for $31.00. I said sorry can't except another price difference. I called Nitzas and a guy answered, after the introduction i asked why the price increase, i will not accept this, the 'GUY' hung up on me. Like didn't give a F___! Quite simply - Nitza's is my go-to. Their calamari is superb, dipped in a lovely tzatziki sauce - hits the spot every time. I always get the ceasar salad - one order is enough for two people and more. Since I can never make up my mind, I usually get the wings and pizza - just means I don't have to worry about lunch the next day. No waiting for 2-for-1 Tuesdays - their 2-for-1 pizza is everyday. The pizzas at Nitza's are sturdy - substantial crust - not overly thick - but solid and can easily hold whatever toppings you have piled on. Personally, I like a pizza that doesn't fold in half half way to my mouth. The chicken ranch is particularly good, in my opinion. I usually order pick-up or delivery. The staff are always friendly - but they go over and beyond for me these days. I'm a bit compromised walking with a cane just now and when I picked up my last order - they carried my food out to my car and put it on the seat for me. COVID safe and all. That's great service. And, as always when you pick-up from Nitza's, I appreciate that they always offer me one of their epic lime slushies - on the house. We ordered the 2 for 1 pizza deal this weekend and got the donair and the mushroom, pepperoni pizzas. We used to love Nitza's as it is local but unfortunately the toppings on the pizza were practically non-existent leaving everyone to be hungry after their usual two pieces. Considering the pizza market is a highly competitive segment, you would assume Nitza's would look at their local competitors, such as Socrates, and keep their pizzas well made with a fair amount of high quality ingredients. I get things are tough right now due to COVID, however, I also think reducing the quality and quantity of your food does more harm to a brand long term. Will not be returning anytime soon. read more

To be honest I have never set foot in the place but have eaten there pizza a tons of times thanks to my husband who is on pick up duty. But beside that I have to say these guys make a damn fine pizza. Of all the pies of tried I have to say the donair pizza is by far my favourite. It is loaded with donair meat mushroom and topped with fresh tomatoes. But the best part is how they literally drown the pizza in their sweet creamy donair sauce. It is just so freakin fantastic. Yum yum yum. They basically have an option for anyone, including those with allergies. I kid you not they even have a vegetarian option that is cheese less and can be made on a gluten free crust. Other options I love are the Tropicana pie. And my kids absolutely love their cheese pizza. Little Caesars got nothing on this place. The food is second to none but the likelihood of having your order delivered correctly, the first time, is a crapshoot at best. If you can pick up, you're good to go and you get a free slush. Their hot wings are exceptional especially if you eat them fresh and if your wife lets you have any. And I don't normally like hot wings. Our hot wings rarely make the drive home intact. The guy was working the till and hand pressing the pizza dough without first washing his hands. I just read an article on the widespread ADHD in recent years, and here's an extract that I quote: "Avoid all paper receipts. Most have BPA or BPS (bisphenol S); they have the same effect. You don't absorb BPA/BPS through the skin. However, if you get it on your hands and then touch your mouth or food--bingo! -- you get 1,000 times the dose that you'd get from food or drink packaged in plastic." My understanding of why they are popular is because they buy customers by giving relatively tiny sums of money for the publicity they get, to Bellerose School, as seen on photos on their wall. So it seems the students of Bellerose and their friends and family patronise this place and pay a hefty price for it! Makes me wonder what the ADHD numbers are at Bellerose. read more

Ordered from here getting two pizzas, one donair and one of the chicken pizzas. They took down the wrong address and phone number for me. After an hour of no pizza, I called them and they told me "the driver said there was a dog so he didn't deliver the pizza" . He had went to the wrong house, and they never called me. They remade the pizzas (I think, because it took another hour to finally deliver them, more than 2 hours total) and the pizzas were not that good. I was starving at this point so I ate some, and ended up throwing out the rest because when I tried to reheat it later it tasted disgusting too me. They didn't offer me any discounts or barely even apologized for being over 2 hours late delivering the pizza. We've lived in St. Albert over 30 yrs. We have bought Nitza's pizza since it opened. We always pick up, and the pizzas and donairs are always superb. I'm sure if you order delivery there's an extra chance for a mix up, but for us Nitza's is the place. Highly recommended. read more

I love this place. First off it has always been a great place for an after bar pizza. On top of that I learned it is a great place for a pizza any night. Must be under new management! Service has declined significantly! Ordered a donair by phone for pickup. Was told it would be ready in 10 minutes. Arrived 10 minutes after ordering. Paid for the donair. Waited another 15 minutes. Still not ready. Asked when it would be ready and the person looked at me like I had offended him by asking when my donair would be ready. Told him to keep the donair and my money and left. They have my phone # and have not reached out to rectify. Very poor service and a very scuzzy looking environment. They give away 'free slices' to kids for reading. But you can only get them from 6-7PM. It sends a bad message. Either keep the 'free slices' to yourself Nitza or offer them whenever the kids show up. Are you trying to build some brand loyalty by buying customers? Was house-sitting in St. Albert and our original plan for dinner had fallen through, so I looked online for a decent pizza place that delivers, and Nitza's kept coming up, so we decided to try it. They do a 2-for-1 which is awesome, but like the other review said, their pizza sizes are misleading (M = 10", L = 12", XL = 14" - they should really just rename them S, M, L). We ordered a 'special pepperoni' pizza (special pepperoni sausage (which when I asked, turned out to be the same as their regular pepperoni), asiago, green peppers, mushrooms), and a donair pizza (donair beef, mushrooms, onions, fresh tomato slices, slathered with donair sauce) since it seems to come highly recommended from many other reviewers. Both come with mozzarella as well. I asked if they have a garlic dipping sauce but they only had tzatziki, so I ordered that as a side. The lady on the phone was really nice and actually called me back to clarify if I had wanted the tzatziki sauce on the whole pizza, half, or the side. Delivery took the shorter end of the 30-45 minutes that she had told me, which was great. The crust is a regular crust (not thin, but not super thick either), not fantastic but held up the toppings well. I couldn't identify any asiago cheese on the special pepperoni pizza, but it was was still tasty - lots of large slices of pepperoni, real sliced and cooked mushrooms, and cubed green pepper that was neither under nor overcooked. And the cheese was melted just the way I like it - a little bit brown on the edges (I dislike undercooked pizza, where the mozzarella looks white and barely melted - although I find that with better quality pizzas, the cheese can be white and still melted and gooey). The donair pizza was completely slathered in a white, sweet donair sauce, and had a fresh tomato slice on each slice of pizza. The beef was tasty and the onions tasted like they had been caramelized (which I love). Didn't notice the mushrooms? Overall a tasty pizza but there wasn't as much donair beef as expected. The tzatziki sauce was excellent - thick, fresh and creamy with dill in it. Total came to around $37 - I think the 2-for-1 pizzas were $32 each, and the tzatziki was $2 and there was another $2 service charge. Enough food for dinner for two and leftovers for both our lunches the next day. They do accept credit cards. I'd be interested in trying out their other Greek offerings due to the tzatziki being so good! read more

Nitzas was a family favorite since I was a kid- since the new owners took over a few years ago it has been awful. Every single time I have ordered delivery it has been over an hour and 45 minutes to come (once was 2 hrs and ten mins on a Wednesday and the pizza clearly had been sitting under a heat lamp the entire time- completely dried out and disgusting). Owner offered to "get hs next time" and the next time I called they refused to honor it and said they have nothing there. Out of the last six orders, five times my order has come completely wrong.
