She was so patient and kind to us and broke things down into steps we could understand. She even burned a copy of our song so we could practice every time to it. And she came up step options that went with our song so we could pick the steps that we felt best comfortable with. We just wanted to not do the typical high school side shuffle for our first dance. My husband wanted to shock everyone and learn how to do a simple dance. Well Paula had her hands full with us but she is a miracle worker! We learned and executed a great first dance and surprised our friends and family by actually having an interesting first dance yet we were still able to look into each other's eyes not focusing on steps but our focusing on our first dance as husband and wife. Thank you Paula for ensuring that our first dance was a wonderful romantic moment in our lives that we will never forget and could never thank you enough for! She is the best and I highly recommend to anyone thinking of lessons to do them as without a doubt it was not only fun learning together but it was completely worth it to get that extra special moment with my husband!! Paula you are awesome!

Mr. David is silly and friendly, but he still pushes the kids to make sure they become stronger dancers. We do the rec dancing, not competition. At other dance schools, I have felt like the focus is solely on the competition teams, with the rest of the kids just serving as filler. Never the case at Dance Connection! I've also been impressed with how the school began to provide high-end virtual opportunities and socially distant summer camps when this became necessary. They adjusted the common areas in the studio and the classrooms to allow for proper distancing, too. Mr. David worked with the parents to explain the new measures and made sure we feel comfortable. We'll be a Dance Connection family for years to come.

Every teacher she has danced with has not only been knowledgeable and accomplished but also fun and kind which is very important for cultivating a love of ballet and also the desire to push on. David the owner, an accomplished dancer and also a teacher there always offers a welcoming smile to the children and is always available to the parents. He certainly has a way with children. I remember when my daughter started dancing at his school she hated her tights and refused to go to class filling the waiting area with her screams. David was so gentle and reassuring and managed to get her to pull it together and join the class! All the staff are wonderful as are the families that that share my love of this school. I also want to compliment David and his staff for pushing on despite the COVID pandemic. Dance has never stopped for my daughter. Virtual classes went off without a moments hesitation when the world shut down. He put together a virtual recital in front of a green screen last June! Pretty amazing! Classes picked up on schedule this September. Small classes, social distancing and masks but the dance goes on. I'm so grateful for this little bit of normal and the smile on my daughter's face when she takes off that mask after class and tells me "Mommy that was fun!"

She first started…read morethere a couple of years ago for ballet and tap, but then she said she wanted to try hip hop, which they didn't offer for her age group. We tried another school.. and even though the teacher was good, it was a very dry environment.. no high energy, no interaction with the owner other than when payment was due (still hadn't met her by the time the recital came).... myself and other parents knew we would not return. So, I was so happy when my LO decided she wanted to go back to Kaye Lynn.. Miss Robin, Miss Jasi, and Miss Mary Alice are awesome! Miss Robin has the energy of someone half her age.. they're so fun and full of excitement and you truly feel as though they really love teaching your children. I mean, I sometimes want to get in there and start dancing! The best thing is, they don't nickel and dime you... if classes are cancelled for whatever reason, they encourage makeups in any of the classes when needed. I love it there and I actually enjoy going there multiple times a week.. and that's a big thing with my schedule. LOL.

Anyway, I grew up and danced with both owners. I believe I know some of the other teachers there as well. CDE's level of teaching dance supersedes that of any other dance school in the entire tri-state area. Bank on that. Many of their students have gone on to the best Performing Arts High Schools as well as top notch Colleges. Many/most students get scholarships and are awarded high honors, join a major ballet company, end up on Broadway (Rockettes or Musicals), or teach at prestigious dance companies all over the globe. Competitive? Yes, of course. They are great enough to be. If your child has the skill and the drive to take it all the way then you WANT CDE. You want them to be trained by the best in the business. If you want to be coddled, lied to, and to be taken advantage of financially: go to a dance school that has the teacher's name in it. Ms Joy's School of Dance will gladly take your money and lie to your child about his/her skill level. Think of it like this: if your child wants to dance as a once a week hobby or a recreation: CDE might not be the place for them but they will make sure they dance like a pro anyway. If you think your kid may want a lifelong career in dance, desire to try out for any of the tv dance shows out there, compete at a high level, dance on Broadway, teach dance, or anything of the sort: you WANT CDE.

The skills of the dancers were absolutely solid, the choreography was beautiful, the choices of music and numbers were modern and beautifully executed and the costumes were stunning. I felt that I was at a professional dancing company performance the whole time. I loved how they integrated classical ballet techniques into the non-ballet numbers to showcase the solid skil-set foundation of their students. All in all, I was immensely impressed. Spectacular job of both teachers and students! Congratulations to owners, teachers and all the dancers on a fantastic performance and thank you to Christina Manousos for graciously providing me with an opportunity to watch it.
