Yesterday when I picked her up, she was waiting patiently in line for a sticker after class when the instructor told her she didn't behave well enough for a sticker, maybe next time, as she handed every other child a sticker. Then, the instructor proceeded to hand out munchkins to all the kids in her class, even some younger siblings, and only excluded my daughter. I called and spoke with the woman at the front desk, who just defended the instructor. When I asked why no one spoke with me if my daughters behavior was a problem, she said they usually speak with a parent after multiple incidents, and this was just the first time. Apparently, this punishment was because my daughter was moving in the opposite direction she was directed to, which shows how developmentally inappropriate a 90 minute class is for a 4 year old, and the lack of training the instructor must have had. I would call this bullying, and will not be sending my daughter back. I am appalled she was treated this way and I will be more careful about whose care I leave her in when selecting another dance studio to try.

Go figure our seats are all the way towards the back of the football field . I asked why are we sitting here at the end ? I can't even see the stage ... She screams because you were the last that paid for the tickets . I asked what does that have to do with anything ? She said again loud and clear, "You paid last you're seated last". I was totally embarrassed by this incident . I asked for my hard earned money back and she screams Again refund these people their money back . I must mention we are the only Latino and mixed race parents there . We were treated like second class citizens. Our daughter will not go back there at all

Another friend had taken classes at this academy before and highly recommended it, so the three of us booked an Introduction to Ballet class on Sunday at 12:00. Check-in was quick and easy. The class was $25 for an hour and a half, which I think is very reasonable considering it's from an actual ballet school. There's no strict dress code, which worked out well since none of us owned ballet attire -- we just wore regular workout clothes and socks, and it was perfectly fine. The instructor was wonderful. She started by asking who had never taken ballet before, then positioned the newer students between people with experience so it would be easier to follow along. I really appreciated that, as I have no dance background and definitely found myself lost more than once. Having people around me to follow made it much less intimidating. The class itself was energetic and fun. The instructor was patient, encouraging, and made sure to keep things approachable for beginners. I'm sure my form was atrocious and I messed up plenty of times, but nobody cared -- the atmosphere was supportive and welcoming, and everyone was just there to enjoy themselves and keep trying. The class had people of all different skill levels and abilities, and it felt very inclusive. Overall, this was a great introduction class, especially for someone nervous about trying something new. I never once felt self-conscious, and I genuinely had fun. I'd highly recommend this academy to anyone looking to take dance classes, whether you have experience or not. If I were interested in pursuing ballet, I would definitely come back.

For $10 you get the 1 1/2 hour lesson plus light refreshments. It was pretty fun. If you know the other style of Salsa, mainly what we do in clubs in most major cities, you will find it's a little different. It's got an extra step in it that I wasn't used to. But the lesson is fairly simple to follow along. Otto does teach the lesson in Spanish, but it's really learn by watching, so you should be ok even if you don't know any Spanish. And there's always someone that speaks English if you are really stuck. Wear comfortable clothing, and prepare to sweat. A lot! Awesome class.
