The staff are not only beautiful dancers and skilled teachers, but they are beautiful souls, as well. They come to the studio (I won't say "work," as it is "play" for them!) as their best selves, and offer their presence, attention and knowledge, a generosity of spirit, to their students. I am a fan of the private lessons, which is their primary vehicle of teaching, where, as a 'follower,' I get held and led as if I am a precious gem. For those of us who have accumulated a collection of bumps and bruises along the journey called 'life,' it can be very healing! I find it so! They are devoted to making sure that their students have a great experience. So, dancing at Fred Astaire feeds me emotionally and spiritually, as well as providing an incredible vehicle for my physical well-being. I don't even notice that I am getting exercise while I dance across the floor--there is too much joy! Yes, learning to dance opens my heart to joy, which is the best medicine for my health! I had a sadness throughout my life that dance had not been a larger part of it. No one is more surprised than me to discover that I am blossoming as a dancer in my mid-sixties! I can't imagine a better food for my soul than this. This is the first time my son is taking any classes, so we weren't sure. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place given the following facts: - The 2 instructors (who take turn) are very strict and cold to the kids. I think younger kids need more attention and need to be encouraged rather than be spoken harshly. My elder 9 year old daughter has been going to an American Tap school for the last 6 years and I have seen the difference. - The place is unkempt. The three Saturday mornings I went, I found the carpet in the lobby to host all kind of trash and never vacuumed. Maybe the place operates on a lean staff and they do not have this covered. But not a good impression to give newcomers especially. - We had a tiff with the center on the fees. We were charged for the trial class even though we weren't told initially that this class would be charged (In my opinion a trial class is normally free unless stated specifically). Upon pointing this out, we were reimbursed the money in again a very cold hostile way. Hope the center realizes its mistakes in dealing with newcomers and takes this review in a positive constructive manner.

Soooo glad that Groupon did not let me down...for once...and introduced me to this awesome studio. Let me be clear, I've only taken their Zumba classes here, so this is not to review all the other classes they have. I have taken classes with Sara and the tiny little tattooed Polish girl....both are really fun instructors, upbeat music, intense cardio, lots of screaming and and a decent crowd. The classes are about 20-30 ppl depending on the night, a mixed age group and the steps are not difficult to pick up. The studio is located in a tiny little plaza next to a Burger King....resist the temptation to go into the BK. Inside the studio is very spacious, lots of mirrors, disco ball is on and strobe lights, so overall a great ambiance. The only reason I'm deducting a star is because I experienced the front desk lady not honor someone's Groupon bc they were a current member and was quite rude. The print on the Groupon did not say anything about having to be a new member and did not even honor what she paid for the Groupon, which seems ridiculous. I'm glad I did not have that experience myself, but really felt for the lady who was now out $40. Apparently they always have facebook specials...for all types of members and if not regularly drop in classes are only $12.

TDN you are a challenge…read more As the parent of a student who went there for three years, I've had ups and downs with this place. The instructors seem to truly care, but our last two lacked discipline and classes can sometimes get rowdy. Quieter children, like mine, are in the shadow of louder kids who do a lot of whatever they want. Many guardians hang out in the lobby, but unlike other dance studios, there is no attempt to make a community of parents. The lobby in this location could also use a good deep clean. Songs and routines are fun and the kids are in to them. This is the good stuff. The location is also killer if you live in Lawrenceville. The recitals here are mixed. In some ways they are very fun. The first one we had at TCNJ went off without a hitch. The last two haven't been as smooth, and the practice for this last recital was a joke. They were incredibly disorganized, there was nothing for young kids to do backstage, and my wife waited for a while for a parent to show up. None did so she just hung out backstage for pretty much the whole rehearsal. At the end of the day, this is a decent dance studio. If you're not taking things too seriously and you're looking for a convenient location, you probably won't go wrong here. That said, we've had experience with a number of places, and this one wasn't exactly on the top of our list. As convenient as it was, we ultimately decided not to come back. This may or may not end up working for you.

Unfortunately I echo many of the other reviews on this site - poor customer service and employee training-resulting in terrible customer experience. I recently went to the spa for a massage. Upon checkout the receptionist told me there was a note on my file for 20% off my service. She reached out to the spa manager who indicated since there was no name or date on the note that they should ignore it and did not honor the discount. When questioned they said that it was an employee error. Seems like the customers bear the brunt of all employee errors--I did send a note to the GM - Hayden Duffy. I look forward to a response.
