My massage was with Mi Ja Seo and my husband's was with Peter. Booking was relatively easy. They have the availability showing online. I called to book our massages just to make sure we got the same time. You have to fill out an intake form if it's your first time. It was digital and sent through email. It was standard and pretty straightforward. Both our massages were pretty good. I specifically was to focus on my neck, shoulder and lower back. Since my muscles were really tight, that was the focus for the hour. Mi Ja Seo had great pressure and technique. I felt so relaxed after! She even gave some suggestions and tip to help make sure I'm not so tight. My husband's focus was on his neck, back and shoulder blades. No complaints. Rooms and washrooms were clean and everything looked professional. Why I took off one star was because of our experience using a gift card. We received one a while back. I made sure that gift cards do not expire before making our appointment. When it came time to pay, it said we only had just less than half the amount it should have been. We had never used this gift card before. We had to pay the difference on credit card while they sorted it out. It eventually got sorted out, but we had to make a trip back to get the refund on our credit card. We live on the other side of town, so that was a hassle. Otherwise, our experience would have been better.

I was not asked if I was comfortable with a male practitioner which is has always been specified in my experience elsewhere. I didn't mind to wait for a female to be available, and I didn't have to wait too long but the massage was a relaxation massage and I felt more stressed by it as I didn't feel like I was having an actual massage for almost the entire time and was practically a forearm sweeping my body only hard pressure in a couple wrong areas. I had booked a deep tissue and even though I explained where I had injury and problems they were completely missed as were many areas. It didn't feel like an RMT. I asked the receptionist after because I was very confused if I was mistakenly given a relaxation massage and if it specified that I booked a deep tissue and it had not been properly booked and noted as a deep tissue massage which was the massage I had booked. I booked specifically at Sutherland Chan because they seemed to offer therapeutic massages if you have any injury or need to have a massage as therapy but it turned out to be disaster when I needed help the most, very disappointing.

Anyways, thankfully my gf discovered them and recommended I try them out. Best decision ever. First of all, their online booking system is hella convenient. In addition, surprise, surprise, TONS of evening and weekend options available. They're even open on Sundays! It's really hard to book last minute evening or weekend massages, but they're pretty flexible here. I had booked a Saturday appointment for the first weekend in November with Leana (my friend recommended her, after a session with her), but my body was super sore I couldn't take it anymore. I booked for the soonest weeknight, which was 5 days away. They also have the option to fill out your pre-appointment forms online, which again, totally convenient! When you get there, there are no forms to fill out. Simply just have a seat and wait. While chatting with Leana, she mentioned they had only been at this current location for about a month. Lucky for me, this is closer to my home. I like how they have diffusers with different oils, but I wish they would blast the mist or pour in more drops cuz I'm tryna breathe all those good scents in lol. Anyways, Leana was great. She got a sense of my stiffness and what was bugging me by making me do some stretches before the actual massage. She applied a heating pad to my sore back and shoulders while she worked on my legs. I have never had this done before. I like when new and different techniques are introduced to me. It's totally boring when people do the same techniques over and over. She definitely got the knots out of my shoulders. This is what was bothering me the most. She also smoothed out my neck muscles and I had way more mobility after. I had an appointment with a confirmation email that I booked on their online app for Saturday April 25th at 10:30am with Victor. I got there at 10:20. The next morning on Sunday April 26th at 10:50am the receptionist calls me to say that I had an appointment with Victor at 10:45 that morning. I had not made that appointment, she insisted that I did it online and that I was a no show and would have to pay the no show fee. I told her we have been clients there for over 10 years and never missed or were late for any appointments ever. She said well you missed this one and it's a no show. I told her I won't pay the fee and that I did not receive any confirmation email. We ended the call, and I went back into my emails. I called her back and went over every single email I received including their annual intake form which I filled out before my appointment, I went over the feedback email and dates and times and told her that I do not have any email that indicates that I made an appointment and did not keep it. She said well you did, you did it online and you are a no show. I told her again we have been coming for ever 10 years, and I would not pay this fee as it must be some issue on their end. She said, we are revoking your privileges till you pay. I told her not to bother revoking my privileges, as neither I or my husband will ever return there - and she told me OK, I will make a note of that on your file. I have gone to Victor, George, Frank, Valeria and years before June and Benja for our therapy. We will not return. This is the difference that poorly trained customer service staff make on your business. RMT's here work at other locations too, and with many locations in Milton for massages, there is zero reason to ever come back here. This is how they treat a 10+ year customer. Zero customer service skills. That's what makes or breaks your business.

I heard the guy in the room next to me getting stretched and then my boss talking to the receptionist during my massage - neither helping me relax for the massage. The room was clean-ish but I've definitely been to cleaner (including Step Up across the street). The massage was ok. I had lower back pain and still have lower back pain, so not the best. Also I got scratched a couple times. The worst part though was the conversation. What clearly was meant to be helpful really took away from the experience. I was suggested other services for things I'm treating in other ways and also told to lose weight. Granted, I am overweight, but as someone who has been that way for some time, I clearly know that less weight is better. This wasn't something I needed to be lectured about while getting a massage. My masseuse asked if they could be direct before telling me to lose weight and I said yes but the none direct method before of asking me about my appetite and portions I eat and if I stress eat made it pretty obvious where the "direct" advise was going. I wanted to enjoy it and I seriously debated writing this, but I would hate for someone more sensitive than me to go in and have the same experience and walk away actually sad.
