She kept cutting me off when I tried to explain that someone rescheduled my appointment when I called days ago. I told her I really need the massage as a post-surgical requirement but she kept telling me in a very unapologetic way that there's nothing she can do about it and that she doesn't remember rescheduling my appointment (my call logs prove otherwise). Her most influential teacher comes to her from Thailand and it's this style that she resonates with most. Doing over two hundred and fifty hours of training in Thailand and India she uses prolonged acupressure and stretching to open up specific energy lines in the body. Also trained in Reiki levels 1 and 2 she incorporates these techniques within all her treatments. The Health Loft is located on Stewart St. just a few minutes walk from King and Bathurst. It is an all women's clinic and along with massage therapy they offer acupuncture, chiropractic services and orthotics. Upon entering I received a friendly greeting and smelled a scent that was reminiscent to minty chocolate. You can schedule your appointments online through their website and for your first visit they will send you forms to complete ahead of time and bring to your appointment or email back to them. In the event that you forget to do so (like I did) you should arrive about 10 mins early to complete the forms. After I completed the forms I was escorted by my massage therapist to the therapy room and had a brief discussion of what areas I wanted worked on and the amount of pressure I prefer. This was by far the best massage I've had in recent memory and have already scheduled my next couple of visits! If you are a woman that lives in the neighbourhood I would recommend checking it out. Dr. Debbie Smrz actually was able to ELIMINATE my foot pain completely! Here's my story: About 14 months ago, I went to the Urgent Care Clinic barely able to walk. I was diagnosed with a severe case of plantar fasciitis. It was so painful, I could barely walk. I sought treatment at a podiatrist who promptly prescribed orthotics and stretching. Nothing helped. After 6 months, the podiatrist decided to try cortisone shots in my foot. If I rate my pain prior to the injections, I would give it a 10 on a scale of 10. After the second round of injections, my pain went from a 10/10 to about an 8/10. Better...but still AWFUL. I was no longer going to the gym, and I was spending a lot of time sitting. I started gaining weight. I was told to exercise to lose the weight, but I couldn't put weight on my foot. I tried the stationary bike; the recumbent bike - but still a lot of pain. After multiple conversations and callbacks, I was assured they had the appropriate specialists on staff and was booked accordingly. When I arrived, I was shocked to learn that the practitioner I was booked with was not the specialist I had been represented to be seeing, and was not even a fully licensed physiotherapist, but a resident. This was never clearly communicated to me in advance. I do not blame the practitioner personally -- the problem was the clinic's poor booking process, misleading communication, and failure to set accurate expectations. What made the situation far worse was how the clinic handled my complaint afterward. I raised my concerns in person and was told someone would investigate what went wrong and get back to me. No one ever did. I later followed up myself, cancelled my second appointment because I had completely lost confidence in the clinic, and repeatedly asked to speak directly with the owner. The owner refused to speak with me and only communicated through the receptionist. Instead of taking accountability or offering a fair resolution, they told me that if I ever wanted to return, I would have to pay for another full initial appointment all over again. They then tried to present a small discount on a future session as though it were a meaningful gesture, but that "discount" only applied after I first paid for another full initial assessment. In other words, the offer was essentially a trap: spend more money first, then receive a token reduction later, after they had already wasted my time and money the first time. This was a colossal waste of time, energy, and money. What was most unacceptable was not just the original mix-up, but the complete lack of accountability, transparency, and basic customer care afterward. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this clinic.

The facility is super clean. The bathroom is down a flight of stairs, so it is unfortunately not accessible. I go to Paul (RMT) , and he's just fantastic. He's very interested in providing the best massage possible. I've had at least 100+ massages before, because I've had back pain since I was a child and I can say with all honesty that I have never had such amazing deep tissue massages before.
