I've been going to Kathleen for therapeutic massages for the past 5 years. She is a phenomenal advanced massage therapist and has helped me through my many aches and pains, including but not limited to the time before and after my hip surgery. (From day 1 she said my problems stemmed from my hip, and she was right!) She is very skilled and knowledgeable and I enjoy learning from her about my muscle pains. She provides great tips on how I can continue to improve my health and wellbeing and alleviate pain when I'm back at home. I have followed her to one of her new current locations, at Austin ReVital Massage. At Austin ReVital Massage I experienced a very welcoming front-desk staff member who went out of his way to help me get a great Groupon discount offer prior to beginning my session with Kathleen. A total of 140 cash for the massage. She tells me that I didn't tip enough, that I should tip 25%. I told her that this is gratuity, and as a hairstylist myself I would never hound someone for what they can tip or "expect" a certain amount. She was very rude to me and cold and basically said goodbye. What happens next is next level. The owner runs outside and I'm thinking maybe she will apologize. She accuses me of not giving her the $100 bill. She said I only paid $40. I reassured her that I paid. Then Mary comes out frazzled with all the money in her hand and I can see the 100 bill on the bottom of the stack as she runs out. Mary turns right back around to go back inside (without apologizing) and the owner also turns around to walk back inside. To which then I said "are you going to apologize?" And she said she was sorry. What a Mother's Day. I'll never go back to this place. Beware.

I booked the 2 hour spa/head spa/mini facial combo for $200 (figured I would treat myself on my bday). I don't know who I booked with because she never introduced herself. I was the only one in the spa besides for the lady doing my massage. We started with the massage and I asked for medium pressure, but it was pretty rough. She literally got on top of me and was sticking her elbow into my back. I'm currently laying down with a heating pad on my back because my back hurts. The entire massage was also face down and by halfway through I was getting a headache from laying down from the pillow they use. It's not like I'm used to where you're face down on the table. I was just wishing the massage would be over. Finally I couldn't take it anymore and asked if I could flip & she said it was time for the head spa portion anyways. The head spa portion wasn't bad but wasn't great. A lot of it is just the water running down your head which is kinda relaxing. The mini facial is just massaging oil in your skin & I have acne prone skin so that wasn't the best. Honestly I had a headache and just wanted it to be over. At one point she snapped at me to relax. Now here comes the crazy part. I didn't even want to tip because I didn't enjoy the service & it was expensive, but I did leave the lady a small tip. She said I should pay by Venmo so I don't get a $5 credit card fee and she had me pay a guy on Venmo which I now realize is sketchy. Maybe they are trying to avoid paying taxes? She then said she needed to take a photo of the Venmo I sent for proof. When she saw how much I tipped she became irate and said I needed to leave 25%. She gave me my phone back & told me to Venmo more. She said she barely makes any money & only gets paid by tips. I told her I had paid for the service and was leaving. She put her hand on the door & refused to let me leave. I had to maneuver around her & I pushed my way out. She then called me a bad person and as I was leaving she continued to yell at me outside the spa. I am terrified & I'm concerned for my safety because she has my address. I feel like she is unhinged enough to show up at my house & I'm debating filing a police report because she refused to let me leave the spa. I'm doubtful she was even licensed & this place is extremely sketchy. I would avoid at all costs.

She did something no one has ever took the time to do for me before. Test the levels of the machine to see what my skin and tolerance level could handle. For instance, level 25 is an average setting a spa would use on a client but being the seasoned adventurer and procedure getter that I am, I was all the way in the high 30s! Imagine what poor results I would have received if she would not have taken the time to determine what works for my skin. The average setting would have yielded poor results on me for sure. I am over the moon with the results of my photofacial. By far and away the best photo facial i have received ever. Right after, I went in for my appointment with CeCe for Botox. She is fan-fan-fantastic! She took the time to discuss my goals (DISABLE ALL MOVEMENT!!) and talk to me about my questions of additional procedures I am wanting to stop the hands of time, rid myself of the wrinkles.
