I really feel so fortunate to have been able to go to Laurie at Falcón Skin Therapy over the past several years. She is truly a gifted aesthetician who works with cutting edge technology as well as carry an absolutely amazing line of products by Éminence. Her expertise in the area of skin care is unsurpassed. She has coached me on what it really means to care for ones skin and has tailored my services as well as products to what is most beneficial to me. And the great thing is, it shows! My skin is really healthy even after years of being out in the sun and my nasty habit of on-and-off cigarette smoking. When I go for a session I usually will do the Microdermabrasion in conjunction with the MicroCurrent Therapy. More recently I've also been including the LED Light Therapy for help with lightening my melasma and reducing fine lines. I leave feeling like my face got to go on vacation-it's truly a treat. The Microdermabrasion helps to take off old top layers of skin, really just a deep exfoliant and skin rejuvenator that leaves your skin super smooth and soft while the MicroCurrent gives your face a workout which I find really relaxing especially on any areas I seem to hold tension such as my brow and forehead area. We've been working with the LED Light Therapy more recently in helping to lighten the brown spots on my cheeks and upper lip due to melasma. Since we have begun this I have seen a noticeable lightening of my skin and overall evenness in skin tone. In milder weather months I sometimes will do a fruit enzyme peel that helps to bring circulation up to the skin and clear away old top layers of skin. On top of these sessions I have slowly moved into the world of Éminence skin care and am so happy I did. Falcón Skin Therapy carries an extensive line of products from eye serums, face washes, moisturizers, exfoliating cleansers, etc. I first started of with the basic Vanilla Day cream with a 25SPF and the Monoi night time moisturizer. Within 3 or 4 days I saw a noticeable difference in my skin. The company is truly exceptional, almost 60 years under their belt using sustainable farming and green practices to create organic, what they term "Biodynamic", products. You really can feel the difference. I recently was on an extensive traveling trip for work and was fortunate enough to be gifted an Éminence travel skin care kit and it saved my skin! I was hoping around different parts of the US during winter dealing with crummy weather, changing humidity, and just the stress of a constantly changing environment. Normally, my skin does ok for the first few days then will go off the deep end and have a break out or dry out. The kit contained the Neroli Age Corrective Eye Serum (which I ABSOLUTELY love and use daily) along with a Coconut Age Corrective Moisturizer and Exfoliating Cleanser-both new to me. They were great! Kept my skin balanced and healthy feeling and looking through all the dry, cold spells. Super stoked to have this to take with me on future trips. I only write all this because I think Laurie and Falcón Skin Therapy are top notch and truly a hidden gem in Austin. She is absolutely lovely and her business...well, I just can't say nicer things about the experience. This woman is a miracle worker. Not only was my facial the best I've ever had, she also really puts time and effort into everything she does. As an aside, she is also probably the nicest person I've ever met. MOREOVER, I had what felt like a cyst on my chin that was so painful that the sensation was actually emanating to my ear. It was likely hormonal and Laurie got me in asap to treat it - literally I sent her an email the night I tried to pick at the damn horn myself and was in her chair at 3pm THE NEXT DAY. Mind you, due to how good she is the woman has appointments booked months in advance sometimes. She is extremely knowledgeable and takes the time to explain everything you. In my case, no extraction was needed, in fact it would have been detrimental as I also have issues with scaring. I have been to other places and even seen dermatologists that would have just extracted it to appease me and guarantee that I wouldn't be back for the same issue the following day. Laurie took time and effort to treat the situation with light therapy and a few other topical treatments, sent me home with samples for continued treatment and even texted me in the morning to see how I was doing. I SWEAR TO GOD by the time I got home an hour after seeing her the pain had subsided and the thing was noticeably smaller. The scab that came as a result of my picking the night prior, seemed to be a little bit darker and on the crusty side - meaning it was already starting to heal...after an hour...of seeing this woman. I found my new Esthetician! I found Laurie thru Yelp. The 5 star reviews were helpful but knowing that she uses Eminence products sold me. I'm so glad that she is flexible and able to work early evenings and Saturdays. I thought she was in her 20's when she first introduced herself, I won't divulge her age but let's just say Eminence products are worth the extra money to splurge on if you want to look so young. Do your research on the skin care line. It's been less than a year since my last facial so I decided to get the Signature Facial Treatment $145. I won't go into specifics but it was worth every penny. I'm self conscious about my dark spots so I bought a Bright Skin Licorice Root Exfoliating Peel and the serum. It's only been 1 week since my facial but I can already see results. At the end of our session, I made no hesitations to book another appointment. Also, I was validated by her skills because I went to get a haircut with a new stylist(Rae) and she also sees Laurie. Small world. Not only is she great at her job but she has a beautiful soul. Looking forward to my next visit. Note: She does not sales pitch the products. She will offer samples so you can determine if you wish to purchase them. I have been a loyal client of Laurie's for 4 years. She is the only, and I mean only person I will ever let touch my face (especially when it comes to microdermabrasion and extractions). Over the years I have seen many aestheticians and none of them even come close to comparing. I always left feeling like I had been beat up and at times even had scaring, but not with Laurie! I went for a "skin enhancing" session with Laurie right before my wedding last year. This was my first facial and I have always been skeptical about the limits of what a facial can really do for your skin. Oh my, was it fantastic! The micro current was an especially wonderful experience. I really love Laurie's skin care. I was originally introduced to her by a friend a year ago and I am so happy that I was. Since I started seeing her my skin has completely changed. My skin is soft, glowing, and while I used to have lots of problems with red and sensitive skin, now my skin looks and feels great.
