This type of massage though is not gentle, it's really to release tension and it may hurt a bit ..but you will come out feeling amazing. I'm sure you can always ask for more or less pressure. I've since moved away 30ish min away but I will continue to come back here! I'd only suggest that they make their music a little longer and ask if any guests would like a heat lamp. I strongly suggest them when you're looking to help fix or rebalance the body.

The treatment room is dark and calm with glowing salt lamps, a fish aquarium and relaxing music. You lay in a soft reclining lazy-boy with a blanket and eye-mask, and zone for the most part. Being my first reflexology treatment, I went in with an open mind, however I was surprised to find it COULD be painful at times. Lule has great hands! She knows the pressure points very well and knows how to apply it, so be in tune with what you can tolerate and communicate your needs. Even if I felt a bit of pain, it was because i NEEDED it! I never realized how tense my feet muscles were, and I could definitely sense where the pressure points connected to corresponding parts of my body. I felt awesome afterward, and continued to visit with Jaime and Lule after the session was over. This place is the real thing. Great customer service, the best therapy, and scheduling is very easy. I plan to schedule a full body massage next and I can't wait! I've been going to the same masseuse for three years and must say, "Sorry dear, if you miss me, I'll be going to Avalonian from now on". I have followed her to one of her new current locations, at Austin ReVital Massage. At Austin ReVital Massage I experienced a very welcoming front-desk staff member who went out of his way to help me get a great Groupon discount offer prior to beginning my session with Kathleen. The atmosphere was laid back and overall very enjoyable. I highly recommend Kathleen and even though I will soon be moving further away to South Austin, I will continue to see her without a doubt!

When I arrived it was 8pm on a Tuesday night and the joint was empty. There was a man I am pretty sure owned the spot from his demeanor & an older lady, which worked out since it would be two of us. Opted for the 90 min combo massages, total of $148. I love a good foot rub, I felt like the man did a solid job massaging my feet and hitting (literally) all the trigger points.
