Great location as Nippon Cha is on a corner a bit away from Costco, so it's easier to park in this area. So happy it finally opened! Much brighter store than the one on Bell Blvd. On the day that we went, the doors were fully open and it was nice to hear the rain outside. There were a few choices for seating and service was okay. I asked if all of the rice bowls come with soy sauce since I have a soy allergy and they said yes. The food and drinks were ready pretty soon after we ordered on the iPad. We got matcha soft serve, sushi, matcha yuzu drink, and a matcha mango drink. I enjoyed the soft serve and drink a lot. The sushi was very simple. My one complaint is that the proportion of fish to avocado was off in each piece, so that could be an area of improvement. Overall, I look forward to coming here again and am glad the Long Island location is open!
The restaurant was small but nicely laid out. You need to order at the front kiosk or with the person in front. Then you grab a seat anywhere and wait for your number or name. I got the gyu-don and hojicha. The gyu-don comes with a miso soup. Everything came out fairly quickly. The soup was a typical miso nothing extraordinary. The gyu-don was pretty good with the right meat to rice ratio with the meat marinated well. There was a little too much sauce that made the rice a little watery. The drink was good. I liked the hojicha's flavor.
We took the family to Nippon Cha in Westbury for dinner the other night, and it did not disappoint. I wasn't sure how my kids would do, they love food from lots of different cuisines, but you never really know until you're sitting down. This place won them over completely. The atmosphere is beautiful, I loved the setup of the tables and chairs, and the staff were so sweet and attentive the whole time. We ordered a bunch of dishes to share as a family. The kids spotted the yuzu lemonade and had to try it (usually it's water-only for them, but we made an exception). We also got a strawberry matcha latte, a matcha tiramisu, and a yuzu cheesecake, they offered dessert first, and honestly, why not. The standout dish was eel served over rice with lettuce, avocado, and so many delicious toppings, my kids didn't even realize it was eel, they just thought it was delicious meat! We also tried a broth-based noodle soup topped with chicken, an egg, and a bunch of fresh vegetables, served cold (you can also get it hot). The noodles were a huge hit, and mixing in the wasabi took the flavor to another level. My youngest is by far the pickiest eater in our house when it comes to textures and sauces, and she tried everything, then asked in the car if we could come back for the exact same meal. Westbury is a bit of a drive for us, but it was absolutely worth it. Everything was flavorful, fresh, and beautifully presented. We'll definitely be back! 10/10 recommend.
The drive from Queens to Nippon Cha's newest location inside Westbury Plaza took less than 30 minutes. We came here for lunch to celebrate my dad's birthday. Sophia greeted us and explained the self-service setup. I was disappointed that there were no Tochucha desserts. We were indecisive, but Sophia helped us order at the register alongside Steven. They both provided amazing customer service. Drink Strawberry Ichiban Matcha (Small) Tochucha Yuzu Lemonade (Small): Mmm, refreshingly delicious. Appetizer *sharing is caring* Yuzu Tebasaki (Large): The chicken wings were hands down my favorite. Takoyaki: These bite-sized takoyaki were savory and super tasty. I tried this place for the first time a week ago because I saw that it was new, and I've been craving a good matcha near this area for a while now. I got the mango matcha and the matcha tiramisu. Both were so good! The mango matcha was a bit expensive though, coming out at a little over $9 for a small. Service was great, the waiters and waitresses are super nice. And I love the open space and plenty of seating in the store too.
A hot hot hot summer day while NYC goes through a heat wave. While shopping in Long Island Garden City, I wanted something refreshing and on the non-greasy side. If you love Japanese food as much as me, Nippon Cha hits the spot for a quick service bite with plenty of tables to sit at. I went for the Salmon Ikura Don bowl with a Matcha Strawberry iced latte. Taste wise both were good and not as plain as most quick concepts would be. They did use fresh salmon for my bowl and took a while to make, ensuring the taste. The one thing was my bowl only came in one size, a small. Wished it was as big as the regular sized bowls because I loved this. Especially with whatever dressing was used for this, elevated my meal for sure. The strawberry matcha latte was fresh with a good brewed matcha and fresh strawberries mashed included, no powdery drinks aftertaste which is what I like. On another day, I'll come back for the matcha tiramisu since they use good quality matcha for their desserts.

We figured maybe we should give it another shot. Very clean location. Love that all the doors were open so there was plenty of nice breeze on a beautiful weeknight. You can order at the self-serve kiosk or with a worker. After looking through their small menu we decided or order the strawberry matcha latte, yuzu chicken wings, takoyaki, and the cold tochuchamen. After I had ordered with the gentleman, I asked if their menu changes because I have seen ramen in their google reviews... he said no because they're relatively new still. It was only after my confusion did he said "maybe they have it on the kiosk menu." What the hell. How the heck is the menu different on the kiosk versus ordering with the workers at the front counter. I was pretty annoyed. I took a look at the kiosk afterwards and definitely saw a few more options. Still no ramen but I remember seeing beef noodle soup and even the unagi don that I was also interested in. But I already ordered more than enough at that point. - Strawberry matcha: Definitely the standout of all the things ordered. I saw many customers also ordering this. It's just strawberry jam with matcha latte. But it worked very well together. Make sure to stir it well. - Yuzu chicken wings: Small comes with 4 wings, large comes with 8 wings. The wings itself are pretty large. Subtle yuzu flavor. I thought this was interesting and pretty fun. I mean I don't see myself coming here to order it again but it was a good one and done. - Takoyaki: Typical. Tasty. - Tochuchamen: Not your typical ramen. We got it in cold since it is their signature. Definitely add the wasabi as it adds a lot to the flavoring profile (which it needs). It was decent. Nice for a hot day and seems healthy. I wouldn't order it again though. I do not see myself coming back. To be honest I would be surprised if they are still around in a couple of years. I usually wish Asian restaurants well as I love Asian food but I don't need this in my life.
Our go to place for anything matcha. Refreshing mango matcha drink. Had the gyudon rice bowl with hubby and it was delish. Really love the matcha tiramisu, so moist and light. The matcha cheesecake was rich and delighful to share. Would return to try other dishes. Nice inside to sit down and relax.
Intrigued by nippon cha from queens, had high expectation with this one and was disappointed by its espresso set. Espresso if not done right and consumed right away can leave different notes and the espresso were sour. I would skip this as they're not known for espresso. We ordered the thick matcha which was nothing special - it's a shot of matcha with no umami flavor.
I'm a bit biased here because I love everything matcha. We came here for lunch one day. We ordered the Kaisen Don, Oyakodon, and Yakoyaki. The sashimi quality was decent, especially for a place that centered itself around the matcha and other items vs. being a sushi restaurant. The oyakodon was a little disappointing because the eggs were overcooked -- not very traditional Japanese where the eggs should be softer and the dish should have a bit more sashimi incorporated. Takoyaki was also good, and seemed to be made fresh (as opposed to some boba places that serve frozen takoyaki-- gasp!). My Matcha latte was solid, no complaints. Our only complaint is that the rice used for both of these dishes was hard and didn't seem like quality sushi rice (or whoever made it did not use the right ratio or store it properly). Overall, I thought, not bad for what feels like a Chinese - Japanese business. Despite some of those grievances, I'd probably come back because I love the concept and menu overall.
Lovely new spot by the Westbury Costco! The staff are very customer service oriented, kind and attentive. Food is fresh and nice drinks! Happy to have them in the neighborhood! This was about $65 for two, a little pricey but good quality and nice ambiance.
Nippon Cha has finally opened in Westbury! It's in the same plaza as Costco so it has plenty of parking around. It's currently in soft opening mode with only a few dishes on the menu compared to their Bayside location but there's still a good variety from matcha drinks to appetizers, ramen, sashimi bowls and cooked meats rice bowls. There's even desserts! We ordered a good variety to try and they were all solid. I enjoyed the sashimi bowls the most. The fish were fresh and the wasabi tastes real too. The salmon Ikura don was a small size but good if you just want a taste. All of their hot foods are also have great flavors. They're known for their matcha and although we didn't get any matcha drinks this time, we did try their matcha cheesecake and matcha soft serve. Both were intensely deep matcha that I really enjoyed so I'd love to try their matcha drinks in the future. The prices are a little high but the food and quality are good. It's pretty much a self serve restaurant as well so you can order from a kiosk and seat yourself anywhere you'd like (there's lots of seats inside). They'll call your order when it's ready and you also put the dishes away yourself. It's very convenient and staff is also friendly so they'll help if needed.
Nippon Cha in Westbury!!! What a treat. I have visited the Nippon Cha in Bayside many times, so I was excited to see that it was coming to Long Island. I visited for their soft opening. This location is a little different from the others with counter style ordering. This makes the dining experience a little more casual but it fits the on-the-go nature of the area (being in the same plaza as Costco). The store is spacious, well designed. There are two kiosks for ordering but you may also order at the counter. The menu is an abbreviated version of their full menu at other locations, that being said I didn't get to order my usual Nippon Cha choices but the staff told me that they plan to expand as they settle into the area. Looking forward to the expansion of the menu. Food - I ordered the gyudon and the sashimi 10 pc. The gyudon was a solid 5/5 for me, great flavor. Came with miso soup. The miso soup is flavorful, The sashimi platter was pretty standard but worth a try. I'd probably just get the ramen or donburis next time. The drinks are one of my favorite parts about Nippon Cha. My favorite drinks - touchucha latte, yuzu lemonade (with or without matcha), and hojicha latte
I was in the neighborhood and didn't realize they had a location nearby, so of course I had to check them out! The interior is spacious and open. I got large strawberry macha which was good. Love that they have biodegradable straws as well. The girl in front was super friendly. Definitely going back to try the other drinks and food! read more
The whole set up of Nippon Cha in Westbury, NY is step up to the counter place your order and staff will assist with questions. After that you sit and wait for food to be prepared. It's a self-serve restaurant. Once order is ready you go pick up at counter and bring to table. Once done you take tray and empty it out yourself. So, there is not wait service. If you need other condiments like milk for my coffee, I asked staff for milk. Ordered salmon rice dish and Yelp buddy- Anna ordered Salmon salad. The food is good here. Nice to come here when you are shopping at Costco, Five Below, Walmart, and other stores in the same complex. Tables and chairs are clean. It's not the same concept as Nippon Cha in Bayside with more selection when it comes to food choices. They were a little skimpy when it comes to salad dressing only one pack. My friend had to go back and ask for more for the salmon salad was pretty big and can be shared by two people. Would be back to try their drinks and other desserts. Long lines for beverage orders. read more
I really enjoyed spending time at Nippon Cha. It was a beautiful, well-lit, and clean space. The staff was really friendly, I'd come back just to interact with them! They were so welcoming, my mother and I felt right at home. During our visit, we tried a few items, Strawberry Matcha- strong Matcha taste with subtle sweetness, higher quality, and not milky. Gyoza - nicely fried with good taste California Roll- fresh Ichiban Yuzu Cheesecake- an absolute favorite! Well-balanced sweet and tart, with a great texture. Matcha Tiramisu- strong Matcha flavor, semi-sweet, and very light. A good dessert option. Tochucha Yuzu Lemonade- might be my go-to beverage, a very unique taste that I don't think I could live without now! This is a wonderful spot to try new things and they provide enough space to stay in and dine. I look forward to returning to try some more menu items. read more

Clean space, love the new location and the fast casual dining format. Great idea for this area. I got a large Kiro Mitsu (brown sugar matcha). The drink was actually quite large (almost the size of a dunkin large iced drink). Matcha quality was great. The lady at the register asked if I wanted less sugar. Being that I typically don't like overly sugared drinks, I asked for less sugar and soy milk. The drink was barely even sweetened so next time I think I will get regular sugar. I also got a Takoyaki to snack on and it came out hot and delicious. The only thing I would recommend is for them to add shades to the window. It was sunset and the sun was blinding so I had to change my seat. The sun actually hit a lot of the tables and the employees had sun in their faces working behind the counter. read more
Today is Nippon Cha's Grand opening. They have a Tea Master performing a traditional ceremony at the westbury location today. Hubby ordered their sushi bowl and it was delicious. Definitely high sushi quality and the fish were so fatty. We ordered a a beef rice bowl and a ramen dish for my kids and they finished everything from it. We will definitely be back. read more

This is a nice spot for a snack or drink. It's small but a nice setup. The menu isn't as extensive for meals but has appetizers, tea and coffee options. It's self serve and no frills but good to know it's here when you need a pick me up. read more

I've always seen Nippon Cha in Bayside but never actually went until I passed by the Westbury location one night they close at 10pm, which is perfect I finally decided to stop in, and I'm so glad I did! I always ask what's the best drinks and she recommended brown sugar matcha and strawberry matcha even a friend recommended the strawberry matcha so that's what I got I love a good matcha and this one definitely hit. The inside is so beautiful very modern, clean, and aesthetic. It's honestly such a nice spot to just chill.I also noticed they have food on the menu, which I didn't get to try this time, but I'm definitely coming back for that!such a cute spot when the employees are so kind you for sure want to be back read more
Greatest addition in Long Island. Every single dish tastes so good. My favorite of the day was the cold Tochuchamen. The noodle texture was so good and the broth was delicious. Must try the Matcha latte and Hojicha. It's probably one of the best in Long Island. The place is so clean and the staff are very helpful. read more

We decided to try this newer Nippon Cha location in Westbury because we really enjoy the Bell Boulevard location and had high expectations. We ordered the R1 Ramen and the Chicken Teriyaki Bowl. Unfortunately, both dishes were disappointing. The pork in the ramen was dry, and the broth lacked flavor. Ramen is usually hard to mess up, but this one just didn't have the rich taste we were expecting. The Chicken Teriyaki Bowl wasn't much better. The chicken was also dry and could have used more seasoning and flavor. We skipped the drinks because we prefer water and try to avoid sugary beverages, but we noticed that a lot of customers were ordering them. Hopefully the drinks are better than the food because the food definitely needs some improvement. It's nice and clean got a nice vibe. This pretty much a self service restaurant. The lady who took our order was friendly. It's a bit pricey for this type of food. read more

I absolutely love the Bayside and Williamsburg Nippon Cha and was glad to see the new location. Drinks and desserts are sensational, and the sashimi bowl I got was also very good! Very fresh. Prices were to be expected but not outrageous. read more

Based on their online menu they do - but I think it depends on the branch. Not sure if the one in westbury had cocktails just yet but then again I wasn't looking for it specifically.
