So my friend and I come here just about once a month and although I will say their service isn't stellar their sushi is. So you may have to wait a bit to be greeted or get drinks but when they sushi arrives it won't disappoint. One of my favorite things is their poki salad. It is delicious and always taste very fresh with amazing flavor. Also their rolls are quite large, so you get Big Bang for you buck. I would recommend the jalapeño bomb, A's roll or the one with ghost peppers on it. ( Can't remember name) Oh and if your dining with kids or adults who like fun things, ask for the sushi boat. They place your rolls on this large boat for the table to share. It's a fun presentation. One day I do want to try their cocktails because they look amazing and have great yelp reviews but I tend to find myself at Ninja during the work week. So although I can't give this place five stars due to service, I still love it and give it a solid 4! read more

The sushi is good but too big for one bite. Service is nice and helpful. Family friendly. The tempura doesn't always seem fresh.

The place is clean and the service was ok but the food is a BIG dissapointment. I didnt like the salty miso soup or dry salad and the teriyaki beef was overcooked and dry, seemed like it was a big slab of meat cooked all together and then sliced and drizzled with a little bit of sauce. Maybe their specialty rolls are better, but dont get thier lunch box, you will just be dissapointed and left wanting more (from a real sushi place....oh Jiro how i miss u!). read more

There's a decent variety of rolls, the portions are more generous than other sushi places in Morgan Hill/Gilroy, and the pricing isn't too crazy. I think it's all around decent place to head to for sushi if you're in the area. Not the best, but not bad, and the fish has always seemed fresh to us. read more

Place does not have non rice alternatives. Will not make accommodations. Do not go here if you need carb free as ALL dishes have rice. No vegetarian options unless you want to pay $5 for steamed bagged edamame. This is a great sushi place located on busy 1st street in Gilroy. I admire the dim atmosphere. I love sake so if I don't want to go all the way to Santa Cruz this is a great 2nd choice. We ate here last night with family & friends after spending day at Bonfante Gardens. The sushi was pretty good. The nigiri pieces and rolls were definitely larger than in the S.F. and cheaper too. We ate sushi the night before in S.F. and their portions were way smaller and the prices more (that's another review). I think the spider rolls here were 6.50 (?) and came as 6 large pieces. Each piece was too big to eat as one bite so I had to bite into it and it kept falling apart. The yakitori was not as good, too chewy and dry. I heard the place just got expanded and renovated so it was very clean and modern. The bathroom is big and clean as well- always a good sign. The worst sushi joint I've ever been too! Why: * Where's the fish! The rolls had way too much rice on the outside. Couldn't taste what was the middle. Very skimpy with the cuts of fish! * Service - Sucks - Hubby and I sat at the sushi bar and the waitress never came to ask if we wanted a drink and didn't even clean the dirty dishes beside us. * There were 2 waitress on Saturday working and heard one of them say loudly "I didn't' even want to come in today" obviously! I've only been to Ninja Sushi once and I must say that the food is pretty good, considering that they have a monopoly. The sushi seems more Americanized, but the portions (like the bento boxes) are larger compared to other Japanese restaurants I've been to. I had the California roll and some sort of spicy tuna roll with tempura crumbs embedded in the rice. My fiance had the shrimp tempura, which actually had shrimp in it and wasn't all batter. The entrance is kinda weird though. When we first walked in, we saw a bar that was very dim and I remember seeing some sort of neon signs. Food is always delicious and always comes out in a reasonable amount of time. Waiters and Waitresses are nice and friendly which is what I like to see when I go to a restaurant. Plus they always do give you good recommendations or they are always able to tell you what is popular among other customers. The only downside is usually at night especially on fridays it is jam packed and there is usually a wait. Ninja Sushi is one of the only sushi restaurants in Gilroy. That being said the food is good but the service is terrible. Waitresses practically ignore you and once your food is out good luck getting there attention. The environment is mediocre and simple. Check your table when you sit down because they're not always throughly cleaned. Other then all of that its and okay sushi place if you need a fix and you live in gilroy. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Just came back from attempting to celebrate my husband's birthday by dining here. My husband and I are long time Gilroy residents and I have NEVER had such horrible service in my life. We waited over an hour for our food, and when I attempted to ask for a manager, I was told by Savannah there were no managers available and that everyone else was waiting too and to deal with it. Never have I been spoken to like that by someone in the restaurant industry. When we confronted our waitress Mary Anne, she said the food was coming out right then. We waited another 20 minutes and nothing. We finally walked out after an hour and 20 minutes with no food. Not the way we planned to spend a birthday dinner. Ninja needs to learn the art of customer service and stop employing kids who think it's ok to speak to others like that. Will never go there again and fully intend on telling all of our Gilroy friends to choose somewhere else the next time they decide to dine out. read more

They also own a yummy yogurt shop in the same parking lot that we generally have dessert at when we're done stuffing our faces!! I've been coming to Ninja regularly for quite sometime. We love the atmosphere, the food is always well prepped and fresh AND we love the staff! The staff is always so friendly and personable. They always go above and beyond to make sure we have all that we need. They always treat us like family. That to us is very important. Growing up with a family in the restaurant industry, I feel very strongly about the staff being personable with the customers. I also feel very strongly about the management. The last few times that we have come in, we've noticed a change in the attitude of the owner. The way he speaks to his employees is not appropriate, it's rarely nice, positive or uplifting. He's rude and raises his voice. This is not how speak to people who run the show for your restaurant. The staff is what brings customers back in. We've decided that we will not be coming back to support Ninja Sushi. read more

I eat out everyday and every where in the bay area. Sushi here sucks and way more expensive. The rolls are filled with fillers, not fish. Rice on some of the rolls are dry and hard. This is the first sushi place I ever ate at that tried to charge me extra for jalapenos, what sushi place does that? Even though workers are nice, they are unprofessional. Ninja Sushi is my favorite sushi joint in Gilroy. One of my rolls was mixed up on my last outing and it just happened to be on last call so they couldn't fix it but the Manager was awesome and comped my roll and gave me a free one on my next visit as well as complimentary ice cream for the entire table. I absolutely love this place. Its very classy, and the food its amazing. i love their spider roll, Shrimp tempura roll, very fresh and tasty.
