If you go on your birthday you can get your meal for FREE (either hotpot or korean bbq) which is kinda unheard of. They offer the same options as anywhere else - the beef is super fresh and the spiced lamb is pretty tasty. They don't have a wide variety or veggies or a lot of marinated options for the meat, but i dont mind at all for the price. read more

We came here for my birthday lunch since I wanted AYCE Korean bbq! We sat down and immediately ordered our meats. Started off with prawns, garlic shrimp, bulgogi and marinated short rib. I also got the seafood pancake which was flakey and good and barely any seafood in the pancake which was disappointing. For banchan they give you a tiny tray of kimichi, seaweed salad and peanuts. They also give you a large bowl of rice as well. The meats were marinated very lightly and was not the best cut. A lot of fatty bits we had to cook off or clean off. The prawns and garlic shrimp was really good. We got another order of shrimp. I also ordered thin slice pork belly that was unmarinated. They have a dip station so I grabbed a bunch and marinaded my own pork belly. It was pretty good after I got the fat crispy. I did tell them it was my birthday and they were weird about it at first. Maybe Korean bbq is just not for me. I wanted to like this so bad but we found it difficult to eat all of the food we had (it's all you can eat but they charge you if you don't finish) and the service was a bit slow. As newbies, we didn't have much help figuring out how to make the food or get any recommendations on what pairs well. Definitely try it out if you are a more adventurous person but overall I think I would like to try somewhere else. Was in Philadelphia for a few days and I always like to check out Chinatowns wherever I travel... this particular night we were craving KBBQ... looked up several ones and decided on this one based on reviews... Sadly it was THE worst KBBQ place we have ever been to... I have never heard of a KBBQ that does NO Banchan... I mean some of the best things about going to KBBQ is the Banchan... so that was disappointing... the grill took forever to heat up, asked if they could turn it up and they rudely said "that's as hot as it gets" ... so we just waited and waited for our protein to be cooked and safe to eat... the employees there seemed to be angry at the fact that they had to serve us... every time we asked for something we were given attitude, it was extremely off putting... to make things worse all 4 of us ended up getting sick in the middle of the night after eating here... not sure how this place has so many good reviews... was it us??? Having been to several AYCE hot pot + kbbq restaurants in the area, Nine Ting is by far the most subpar on my list. The place itself isn't that big but their ventilation was pretty awful. At one point, I could barely see the person sitting across from me since the steam was pretty heavy from our boiling pots of soup. Our table ordered quite a few grilling selection of meat and vegetables, including beef and pork bulgogi, prime rib, pork belly slices, and garlic shrimps. Out of these, the best tasting was the garlic shrimps. I couldn't tell the difference between any of the grilled meat since none of them had a distinctive flavoring. As for hot pot, my broth (house original broth) was flavorless. This, along with the lack in variety of dipping sauces, made each bite of the flash cooked meat all the more uninteresting to eat. I normally savor the hot pot experience over the bbq one, but my appetite took a hard break that day. Unlike most AYCE hot pot + kbbq places where you have at least a small selection of appetizers and desserts to choose from, Nine Ting only offers a kimchi/seafood pancake. This is pretty sad in my opinion. Just about the only saving grace of this place was the friendly service of the staff there. Needless to say, Nine Ting isn't on my list of go-to the next time I'm looking for a fulfilling hot pot place. read more

I took the family out to try Korean BBQ. This is an all you can eat restaurant with plenty, plenty, of options from beef and vegetables to seafood. You can add onto the base price for an extra five dollars to get a Hot Pot Soup which adds plenty of new options to eat and to try. The restaurant is very nice and sleek. The tables were clean, the cooking area clean and the restrooms were clean. You scan the menu on your phone, the wait staff comes and you order what you'd like. The food is brought raw and then you cook it on the table's built in BBQ (there are separate burners for the Hot Pot). There is only one grilling station which makes it awkward for tables larger then two people. Some of the staff were extremely friendly. Other staff were courteous but rushed with less patience. The food is brought on large platters. It was very difficult to figure out which meat was what as many of the proteins look the same. When I asked one waiter, he explained it, but not thorough enough and too rushed for me to remember what he said. They changed the BBQ grill several times to remove the burnt food debris. It's unlimited so you can order away. Now, the meat itself is not Grade-A meat. It can't be for that price. It's a bit fatty, which you need for the grill. It's good though. The salt and fat in the meat coupled with the BBQ grill makes the food taste pretty good. Your fingers will swell later from the salty meat. On the table are some trimmings and there is a whole station of lots of sauces and seasonings to cook with. The meal ends with juicy oranges brought to the table. Now folks, this is not a place to come if you want fine dining Korean BBQ. This is NOT a premium steak house in any way. This is a place that's a fun experience where you can try a lot of different meats and seafood. What I love about it was that the food takes a bit of time to cook which allows you to hang out with your company and not feel rushed at all. This whole local area has dozens of restaurants to choose from. If I'm back in the area I might try another place as there are a lot of inviting places. I realized that I go here all the time for hot pot but never review it since it's such a regular spot for me! I went here last week with some friends and had a completely vegetarian hot pot meal for the first time (in a restaurant). The waitress was very accommodating since we can't eat chives, onions, garlic, et cetera. We ordered the herbal and mushroom broth in a duel hot pot. All of the vegetables, protein, udon, were fresh and delicious. The waitress checked in on us a perfect amount of time to take our orders and cater to our needs. We came here on a Sunday evening, and there were only a couple of tables full, but I can vouch that it's usually more packed. The sauces station were refreshed and plentiful. The vibes are always right here. My friends loved it, and they're so excited to come here again. Even though we didn't order meats this time, I typically order meats, and I can admit that the meats here aren't as juicy or as high quality--compared to other places like K-Pot. The service is pretty standard, not overly attentive but if you need something a server is around to assist. The portions of the food brought to the table are very reasonable and the produce has always been fresh - I love the fried tofu! The highlight is the sauce bar - they do have a little guide to help you make something you'll enjoy but if you're like me you'll make a few mistakes until you find a combination you enjoy. Love this place. First of all the soup bases are great. But the sauce station has so many of the flavors that I enjoy from peanut to sesame to Korean barbecue and soy. I am a huge fan of Korean BBQ so this was some place I just needed to try while I was in Philly. But I was just overall disappointed in this place. To start off with the tables are old and kind of falling apart. Or maybe our table caught on fire? I have no idea but not visually appealing. For the food, not that large of a selection to pick from. I did like that their was a seafood pancake option. It was good, not very seafood-ish but tasty. For meats, my favorite was the beef filet. Very nice pieces of meat, cooked really well and were just tasty. We also got pork belly, it was just okay, and marinated beef short ribs. The short ribs were marinated in a great sauce but overall the pieces we were given were all fat and cartilage. I'd rather not have to fight to take a bite out of something so I left those to my brother. We got some veggies to cook on the grill just as filler. The biggest disappointment of this place were the sides. Which are usually the best part of Korean bbq this place basically didn't even try with sides. Kimchi, peanuts seaweed salad and edamame. My friend and I wanted some hot soup to warm us up during this cold weather so we stopped by here after work. We were actually the only customers dining in today; however, it is a Tuesday so that was expected. It was roughly $28/person for AYCE hot pot; not too bad! We also brought our own alcohol (soju) to go with our meal. For broth choice, we chose the standard original and chinese herbal. We've tried the spicy broth before and it was too oily/lacked in flavor. The original doesn't have much flavor either but it gets more flavorful as it becomes more concentrated with the vegetables/meats in the end. Herbal broth had a bit more flavor and depth than the original, but it has relatively the same base flavor. Banchan that was served was pretty standard. The kimchi was too fermented for me, reminded me of pre-made kimchi I buy at H-mart. We were STARVING so we ordered a bunch of things: thinly sliced beef, lamb, and pork for meats (at least 3-4 rounds of each), watercress, spinach, enoki, oyster mushroom, fish tofu, meatballs, tofu skin, fried tofu skin, fish filet, fish ball, ramen noodles, etc. I've been to other hot pot joints that have more choices in beef/vegetables for hot pot, but they have the standard go-to choices. Their meats were relatively fresh and tender. I ate my meats and veggies with my go-to DIY sauce: sesame paste, peanut butter, dash of soy sauce, dash of hot chili oil, scallions, and big spoonful of garlic. So delicious for hot pot! TLDR: Come for hot pot, skip for KBBQ. I've been here once for hot pot, and once for KBBQ. The hot pot selection is excellent, 5/5 and couldn't ask for anything different. Good selection of meats, veggies, broth was tasty. However, we had a larger party of people another time and wanted to do KBBQ. The main issue is that they could only do it on an induction stove top, which doesn't provide nearly the right amount of heat necessary to cook anything. If you came hungry with a large party, you may need a calendar to track the time for how long it would take for all of you to be full. What didn't make sense either was there were certain things for hot pot that couldn't be used for kbbq. Like the sliced lamb I would think would taste great grilled, but we couldn't order it. The food actually didn't taste that bad, and it was interesting to have the full hot pot sauce bar that you could use. We opted in for just all you can eat hot pot which was $24.99 pp. Our waiter was super attentive with when to refill our water our our soup base. He also checked in to see if we wanted to order more food. However, when we were ready for our check which was around 7:00 PM and the place was more busy, the service was lacking. This was my first experience with Korean BBQ and I am blown away! A group of friends and I were able to get one of the private rooms (10 person minimum) for Friday night at 9:30 PM. We made the reservation pretty last minute, so we were thrilled to be able to snag one of the rooms! We packed up a few coolers with drinks to take advantage of the fact that Nine Ting is BYOB, and came hungry for some All You Can Eat fun. Our group included one Korean BBQ pro, so he took the lead on ordering and cooking. Right away, we were greeted by the staff and brought water, cups for our BYO drinks, and small dishes of peanuts, kimchi, and seaweed salad to snack on while we waited for the meat and veggies to arrive. From what I could tell, my friend that took the lead placed an order for our "first round" right away, and that came within 10 minutes. The server that brought the food helped us set up the grills and even stayed a bit longer to help us cook because she wanted to make sure everyone got something to eat right away. Of the meats we tried, I really enjoyed the steak and pork belly. The chicken we ordered was also delicious, and had a great seasoning/marinade situation. We also helped ourselves to the plentiful selection of sauces, and mixed some of our own per the guidance from our KBBQ pro. From start to finish, this was a great evening and I want to make this a regular occurrence.
