Great coffee with both things that we ordered. The wife had a banana Foster and I had a half calf sugar-free vanilla latte. No complaints on either drink. Friendly Service, classic barista gossip, but if you can endure that you will make it through. Decent Furniture, some of it seemed a little bit on the cheaper side, the area is a little bit rough, but that is just San Bernardino A hidden gem for the area.
This location is hidden in the downtown San Bernardino area. It's a must try. The drinks are delicious. Customer service was amazing. They have plenty of seats and a connecting lounge . Definitely check out the merchandise section
Stopped by here got coffee after a hike. Place is packed up on a Sunday. I ordered the honey Cinnamon Cold Brew. Delicious with the cold form. The menu has lots of signature drinks , I would definitely come back and try other drinks on the menus
My go to spot for matcha in the Inland empire. I love it here and the ambiance is great. Good study or WFH spot!
Cute clean coffee shop. Been coming here since snacks. But the wait kills me every time. Every drink I've got 10/10 n i love the seasonal menus. Just be prepared for a very long wait. Especially for food items (recommend the heavy hitter). Online ordering isn't always an option either.
Small line forming for a Friday morning at 7:30am. Excellent ambiance. Aesthetics are on point. Staff are friendly. They all seem like cool kids. I ordered the Kyoto Bliss Matcha. It has a strong matcha taste. Smooth. Would recommend foam top to sweeten it up a little bit. Definitely recommend this place. Their merch is good quality too. Watch out for long wait lines though. I've come during a break from work and could not stay as long was out the door. Kyoto Bliss Matcha: 4/5
This is a super popular and always packed cafe in the IE that offers a wonderful selection of espresso and matcha drinks along with pastries and sandwiches! My personal favorite was the san banana matcha which had the most delicious banana pudding cold foam! The Kyoto bliss was a standard double matcha with a nice sweet matcha cold foam but I would prefer if the matcha latte itself was sweeter and less grainy and bitter but still a solid drink! This place is also a solid study spot designed for small groups with outlets along the wall, a water refreshment station, and a bathroom! Tip: Only card payments accepted here!
Tried the smores latte with cream top and it was just fine. The espresso tasted almost sour/bitter and the marshmallow/ chocolate taste was barely noticeable. The jalapeno everything bagel was really good though.

The inside is more on the medium size with chairs and tables for guests. Customer service was friendly and he provided me some recommendations on drinks to try. They had a nice menu with different lattes, matchas, food, and teas. I tried the Con Amor Latte half sweet with oat milk. The drink was ready within 5 minutes after ordering. It was perfectly sweetened and I could taste the espresso. Overall, I would definitely visit again when I'm in the area to try more drinks and their avocado toast.

They seem to be very community-orientated and staff have been friendly to me. They also have flyers posted of social events in and around the area. Some additional perks include a free water station, several charging outlets, and a section for their stylish merch. I once tried the chicken pesto sandwich, which comes with ciabatta bread, chicken, cheese, avocado, pesto, tomato, greens--as well as a side of potato chips. It was a two-mealer for me and didn't feel super cohesive in flavor for some reason. The matcha/chocolate cookie I tried was okay and quite sweet. As for the drinks, they almost never miss! The double matcha (Kyoto-Bliss) may sometimes be a bit watery for my palate, but if you wait until the cream top settles it feels more full bodied. The San-Banana matcha is popular, but can sometimes have a watered down banana/matcha flavor. I enjoy the coffee and have tried a range of their speciality drinks, such as the Sweetheart or Hermosa, which are on the sweeter end. I also like their Americano, which is simple and not very acidic. I've yet to try more from their rotating seasonal menus and will be back for more! :)
First time trying them and it was popping. A little bit of a wait but worth it. I got a Hermosa- Espresso vanilla and strawberry foam decaf with almond milk. I was happy they had some decaf options since I've been trying to cut back but I love coffee and espresso. It has a great seat down vibe inside if you needed to work or stuffy or just chat with some friends. Will be going back to try some other yummy drinks and maybe a treat as well. Staff is also very nice and helpful.
their drinks are sooo good! i wish i lived close to this location. highly recommend tiramisu, smores, or the banana matcha. tiramisu was my fav tho. this store is surprisingly bigger than i thought. if there's no seating directly in the front, there's a back part of the store! they have card and board games too. parking is in a lot! i came early afternoon of 4th of july on a saturday and there was a continuous line out the door!
As a matcha lover, I've tried a lot of spots around the Inland Empire, and Nine Eight Five Coffee is easily one of the best matcha places in the IE. The matcha here is bright green, well-prepared, and clearly crafted with care. You can really tell they use quality matcha and take their time with the preparation. My friend and I decided to get the Signature Matcha Flight: The San Banana, Nube De Coco, Kyoto Bliss, and Te Quiero Matcha. We wanted to try several of their drinks at once, and honestly the price is pretty reasonable. The whole flight is $14.50, which comes out to about $3.63 per drink, so it's a great way to explore different flavors without committing to a full cup. Here's how I'd rank them from favorite to least favorite: Kyoto Bliss - My absolute favorite. Super balanced, smooth, and the matcha flavor really shines. San Banana - Surprisingly amazing. I usually don't like banana-flavored drinks, but this one tasted like banana pudding layered over a matcha latte. So good. Nube De Coco - Light, creamy, and refreshing with a nice coconut flavor. Te Quiero Matcha - This one was my least favorite mainly because the strawberry flavor was a bit too strong for me, which overpowered the matcha. The ambiance is really calming. The café is spacious with lots of seating, and when we visited there were a lot of people studying or working on laptops. It definitely feels like a great study spot or place to hang out for a while. Also, the staff were super nice and helpful. I had a few questions about the drinks and they were really friendly when explaining everything. Overall, if you're a matcha fan in the IE, this spot is definitely worth the visit. I'll definitely be back to try more of their drinks.

Saturday morning = busy, so expect a line. Got there at 10:20, ordered around 10:40, and had my drink by 10:42 for time reference Open, spacious, and minimalist--not my usual cozy cafe vibe, but clearly a popular hangout. They freshly grind their coffee, sell their beans, and have cute merch. Service was meh for me. The barista jokingly asked if I was waiting 30 minutes for the Heavy Hitter bagel or going to McDonald's, then suggested everyone in line go to Dutch Bros. Funny? Yes. A little off-putting as a first-time visitor? Also yes. I prefer a warmer, friendlier local coffee shop vibe. Pumpkin Matcha: 3/5 Came out *super* fast, which may have been part of the problem. Pretty basic--no cold foam or whip cream and cinnamon on top which would have been a nice touch. Matcha was a bit gritty and more on the earthy side, but had a nice subtle pumpkin flavor. Not top 5 material. Not sure if I'll be back... On my quest for the best pumpkin matcha, in the words of U2: I still haven't found what I'm looking for. read more

This review is a cumulative review of my first and last (second) time going. My sister recommended this coffee shop after being loyal only to Slow Bloom, Fireproof, and Dutch Bros (I know I know). However, this coffee shop gives them fair and strong competition. Food -- Did not have food, but noticed many ordering. Would recommend the cafe to use reusable dishes for in-house dining. Its more eco friendly as well as elevates the experience (colorful dishes/mugs/glass cups would be cute). Drinks -- HONEYYYY their menu has amazing options which is a necessary component for me (personally) for a good local coffee shop. They have a large selection of flavlors and foams. I will say, I got their banana foster with banana foam and it was way too sweet (even though I got it 50%), so the next time I got a plain oat milk latte with banana foam and it was 10/10. My grandma and sister love their san bananan matchas and my family loved all of their drinks as well. Ambiance -- location is great, there's plenty of parking available, the cafe itself is in a large venue with plenty of seating. Some of the seats are stools though which can be uncomfortable. The decorations are ok, a little too industrial for my taste. In my opinion, the cafe could use some color and warmth. Service -- this is where the cafe can improve immediately without much more (if any) investment (money wise). Customer service is great. You get to the counter, they're patient they give recommendations they take the order do the modifications. Great. However, the line can be out the door and it is so SLOW. Slooooowww. I know that other busy local cafes are just as busy (if not more) and they have 2-3 cashiers. This place needs at least one more cashier at al times. On the same note, the wait time to get drinks is incredibly long. The first order (6 drinks) took about 25 mins to get. While I know 6 is a lot of drinks, it is still a long wait. They could use a more efficient line system or more baristas. The next day, I had to catch a train to go to LAX and so I asked the barista, after a 15 min wait, if they could make my drinks. It took another ten minutes to get my drinks and I made it to the station with only 2 mins to spare. If I would not have asked and if they would not have kindly made them I would have missed my train. However, I think a reasonable wait time would be like 10 mins. I say this based on the experience and quality of service I get form local coffee shops w/o drive through in the area. How the coffee shop can get FIVE STARS from this verified Yelper: reduce wait time to place the order and reduce wait time to receive the order. How can this be done? I would suggest an extra cashier to help with the speed of the line and either a new system or more baristas. The new chairs, new decorations, and warmth to the cafe would be nice, but not necessary for a 5/5 since I know they are a small shop. Overall, I will continue to support this local coffee shop and am excited to see their progress, improvement, and especially their seasonal drinks. read more

This café seems to have a pretty loyal following, so I decided to check it out and see what all the hype was about. The location is a little hidden. The first time I pulled into the parking lot, I honestly thought it was abandoned, but the café is there. When I walked in, there was a long line that was almost out the door. The layout isn't the best and makes the space feel really crowded. My friend and I originally sat inside, but we were practically elbow-to-elbow with other customers, so we moved outside to one of the patio tables, which was much more comfortable. This place stays busy, almost too busy to expect a warm greeting or much customer service. Everything feels rushed. From what I noticed, the crowd seems to be on the younger side, and it's definitely an Instagram-worthy spot if you're looking for cute coffee photos. I'm not a fan of overly sweet drinks, so I ordered a black coffee and a banana nut muffin. One thing that really surprised me was that they didn't have Stevia or Splenda....only cane sugar. For me, that's a big downside. I usually use a packet of Splenda in my coffee, so I actually had to go out to my car and grab one before I could drink it. That really bugged me. What kind of coffee shop doesn't offer at least a few sugar options? That said, the black coffee was actually really good. I was happy with the flavor and would definitely order it again. The banana nut muffin was fresh, moist, and just as good. I was happy with that too. I'd more than likely come back, but I'll definitely have to remember to bring my own sweetener. I'd also recommend ordering ahead if you can because the line is insane. read more

Stopped by this coffee shop since I was in the area and it had good reviews, but I thought the drinks here were mid. I ordered the San Banana which is a banana matcha, but my drink tasted watered down and the matcha flavor didn't show through. The coffee drinks were standard too and nothing special. There was a line out the door when we arrived, and the line moved slowly. The cashier kept going back and forth between taking orders and making drinks, which slowed things down. The inside is spacious with lots of tables and seating. I wanted to like this place based off the good reviews, but maybe it was an off day, and it fell short for me. read more

Nine Eight Five is definitely alive with the vibe but when it comes to service it doesn't get a high five and that's no jive. But besides that let me tell ya what's good at this coffee shop in tha hood. I started off with the espresso shot that had a little less than I'm use to but still decent. Next I had the Cortado which was also pretty good. The last drink I had was the Iced Con Amor which came with cinnamon and honey and this baby was really good. So, all my drinks were good and they offer dine in service which is a definite plus and a must in my book. My only gripe was their service and it seems like if you don't know them they won't be friendly to you as they are towards the regulars. I may be a fool but that's so not cool to act like that towards people like me that are old school. The shop itself is up to par with plenty of seats for two and a comfy couch. I've heard of this coffee place before and this was my first time here! I've heard their banana drinks are their signature, but I decided to try their Hermosa, which is a latte with vanilla and strawberry foam. It was so delicious and the strawberry flavor is subtle, but not artificial at all. The coffee shop itself is very cozy and the lines do get long, but the service is exceptional and it's impressive how they take orders while making their drinks! WOW. The Kyoto Bliss matcha was one of the best I've had in the IE. It was creamy and the matcha flavor was delicious. I also tried their Spanish Latte and it was solid. The area isn't that great but the coffee shop itself is nice. Bright and inviting. Everyone working there was so nice. I'll definitely be back! read more
Really great matcha - I'm usually not a fan of strawberry jellies so I might opt for the cold foam next time. Constant line out the door while I was there. Very popular for their drinks. However I wouldn't come to study here, it's very loud and the seats are uncomfortable - wooden and fixed at far distances from the table. There's also a school nearby so a lot of young kids. I enjoyed Nine Eight Five Coffee! Parking was easy and convenient, which is always a plus. The drinks came out quickly. I tried the strawberry matcha and it had a really nice, balanced flavor. The matcha itself tasted high-quality, not overly bitter, and paired really well with the strawberry as a refreshing drink. Service was great and the staff were friendly. Drinks were very tasty and well made. I placed an online order for a few drinks and a couple of food items. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted right away, and the customer service was very friendly and welcoming. The drinks were ready when we arrived, about 15 minutes after placing the order. The food took a little longer, but that wasn't an issue since it came out warm, fresh, and tasted great. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely come back! read more
