The establishment was closed but saw they were getting them from the vending machine on the side. Honestly, what a great idea for Nina! I got a 18 cupcakes for a high school graduation. They did not last long at all. Very fresh and light and overall they were delicious!

Here's a little story of how I discovered Nina's. Today I picked up a cupcake order from another bakery in the area for a bridal shower this evening. Sadly, the other bakery missed my note and rather than white, my bridal cupcakes were Halloween purple, orange and green with tombstones. With my tail between my legs, I considered stopping at the grocery store, but decided to try to simply make them work. The bride has a wonderful sense of humor anyway. Just before I reached the venue, I noticed the small bakery across the street, peeked my head in to see what they had ready for taking and there they were! Beautiful plain white vanilla cupcakes. Exactly what I needed! Long story short, I grabbed them threw on some bridal toppers and they were just perfect. Nina's saved the day and the cupcakes are delish (I did steal one, before the shower, shhhhh) Thanks to the gentleman who helped me at Nina's and the shop for having exactly the right fix to my problem!! read more

This little bakery on Center Street is cute inside, though tiny. Products are not currently baked on-site, but in their larger store in Abacoa. Both times I've visited there was hardly any items being offered. Frustrating, although not uncommon, to find zero labels or prices anywhere. My inquiry into the I-don't-know-what-it's-called savory-egg-thingy seemed overpriced, but the mini-cupcakes are $1.25, very reasonable. The large cinnamon roll was very tasty: moist and flavorful. The chocolate chip cookie was not appealing: not crispy but not chewy; it almost tasted stale, more biscotti-like than cookie. I was surprised to find the croissant was dry and without flavor, with an almost sweet aftertaste. I purchased every flavor of mini-cupcake available, 6 in total. They were good, tasty, with nice cake consistency and flavors. Some of the icings seem to be slightly deflated or missing in aeration. I would purchase the vanilla again, or different flavors if available. I definitely want to support a local business and items which purportedly are made with natural ingredients, according to the byline painted on the window. It is a little strange to enter a bakery and be underwhelmed, to see empty display cases, most products left open to the air with no covers or protection and the cupcakes in an almost empty refrigerator. I'll have to check Nina's out in a few months to see if there are any more offerings for me to try. read more

We stopped by this place on a weekend to check it out. It's a small shop that mainly does customized cakes by order. They also have a small selection of mini and regular size cupcakes to purchase. Flavors range from peanut butter to Carmel to strawberry etc. I tried a chocolate peanut butter mini which was fresh and delicious. Only thing I wished they served with their treats was coffee or espresso! We were given friendly and inviting service. May come back in again to try a customized cake! I've been here twice. One time I tried the a chocolate cupcake which came out of a refrigerator which I thought was rather dry. I returned a second time for a ham and cheese croissant and it was excellent! The croissants must weigh at least a pound each. Loaded with butter! The filling could have been a bit less skimpy. I'm thinking the made-to-order cupcakes are not refrigerated and must be why so many people enjoy the cupcakes at the Abacoa location. Needless to say, I will give the cupcakes a second try.
