This is the closest thing to Detroit's Greektown. I've been meaning to make it over here for Nikos since it changed from Gracie's. It did not disappoint. We like the casual atmosphere, but attention to flavor. Despite being a bit understaffed, the service was attentive and thoughtful. The food was delicious. The wine was balanced. We will definitely be back!

First time to Niko's Taverna! Middle of the afternoon you expect leftovers. Not here! Exquisite new tastes for me! Plenty for supper too! Will be back!

First time at Niko's and will definitely go back. Ambiance: sports bar feel, kind of disappointing. Was expecting more of a Greek theme. Greek music would have been amazing. Hot, seems just a window a/c but there are ceiling fans. Smells a little like a basement or antique shop, and that kind of makes sense for the age of the building. But I wouldn't say it smells good in there. Service: slow but the server was very friendly and helpful. Food took awhile. Server was eager to replace the chicken in my salad when I showed her that it was burnt. I appreciated that. Food: loved my salad and my dining partner loved the Greek Fries. The feta in the salad was particularly delicious. He said his gyro was good but a little dry. Could have used some extra tzatziki. Definitely a place to check out if you like Greek food. Lots of street parking plus a small lot in back. Patio out back was shady in the evening. Big bar in the middle of the restaurant - can't speak to the drink menu but it's there.

I enjoyed the bright and warm atmosphere. The lamb was tender and juicy, but a bit too salty for my taste. The noodles were cooked perfectly and had a nice al dente texture.

    Gyro plate

My wife and I had dinner at this new spot in Williamston. We arrived at 5:00 p.m. and it was already busy. They had a nice selection of greek specialities. I had the gyro plate which came with fries. The gyro meat was excellent. The fries were mediocre and needed seasoning. My wife had the lamb meatballs, substituting greek potatoes for rice. She reported her meatballs were excellent. I tried her greek potatoes, next time I will get those instead of fries. Service was attentive and the atmosphere was bright and airy. There are a number of other items on the menu I want to try, we will definitely return.

Our server, Will, suggested a wine that turned out to be spot-on: a dry, subtle Chardonnay, nicely chilled and presented in a granite cooler on our table like it was royalty. Loved that detail. The entrées did not disappoint. My husband had the salmon, delicately enhanced with salmoriglio, served with wild rice atop a light bed of bok choy and baby carrots--simple, fresh, and perfectly balanced. I had the crab-stuffed shrimp, which was absolutely fabulous, also with wild rice, baby carrots, and that sneaky little layer of bok choy you barely notice but totally appreciate. It was a busy Saturday night, so definitely make reservations--it's worth it. The atmosphere struck the perfect balance: lively but not loud, elegant without being stuffy--the kind of place that makes you feel justified putting on heels and lipstick just because. And a special shoutout to GM Brad, who was absolutely wonderful, along with the rest of the staff. Warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming--service like that makes a great meal unforgettable. We'll absolutely be back.

Dinner and service, however, was a huge disappointment. The 3 differnt pasta dishes ordered were bland and the pasta overcooked. The Carbonara tasted like Alfredo with some bacon pieces thrown in. While the accompaniments to the Branzino were good, the fish was overcooked and dry. Server was inattentive and didn't check on how the mains were. They also couldn't get the bill correct. We won't be back for a while. Hopefully, things will improve with time.

Update: I am sorry…read moreto update everyone that Travis left EnVie. The new bartender leaves so much to be desired. Pretentious bartender who really really wants to be known for being a mixologist. Don't you dare ask to modify any of his ingenious cocktail creations. I've been to many many bars in my lifetime. Nice bars, hole in the walls, distilleries, hotel bars, outdoor bars, cute little trailer-wedding bars, speakeasies. You get my point. My standards are high but i'm down wherever too. this is the first time anyone has refused to modify a drink for me. and i'm not talking about changing everything. i'm talking about swapping out mezcal for gin (there are barely any gin cocktails anymore). i've been here three or four times since the new bartender-- and i don't even sit at the bar anymore. the only redeeming quality of the place is the chef(s?) who I feel really takes care of people and makes the food with love and care and excellence. the burgers and steak are literal perfection. Le sigh. Travis if you're reading this-- Mike and I miss you!! Management, please try to get him back! Give him a fat raise! anything! your restaurant is going downhill quickly because 1) Travis is gone 2) Inflexible pretentious guy took his place.

The restaurant is quaint but with sufficient seating to accommodate both small and medium sized groups. There is ample parking as it is located in a downtown district. The decor is simple modern, nice clean lines every where you look. Our waitress, along with those assisting her with food and drink were abundantly pleasant and welcoming. At one point the waitress prepared to offer me and my dining companions the drink specials and I jokingly asked her if she would "freestyle them" while I beatboxed. She admitted she was horrible but was down to try! We were both horrible but the exchange was fantastic and very personable! We appreciated her and her service throughout our evening. All of the cocktails we selected were well made with high quality liquors, no complaints there! The food. The food, the food was superb! We all enjoy the presentation of our dishes, beautiful and simple! Everything tasted well balanced and flavorful served in perfect portions. Our only complaint here was the pasta in the Cacio e Pepe. It was a little heavy and thick in texture but the flavors and the lump crab made up for it! The gluten free cake was shared by the table and enough for all to feel just the tiniest bit gluttonous! I look forward to returning to Envie to check out more of their menu and perhaps be able to have the same waitress.

There were only four of us, but we ended up at what felt like a six-person booth/table setup. It made it a little tricky to talk with everyone, but we survived. Now listen... the bread. Oh, the bread. I have been dreaming about this bread ever since I had it. And I mean that literally, I was dreaming about the bread while I was actively eating it. It was THAT good. My pasta was delicious and had a nice kick to it. I knew it was supposed to be spicy, but even after reading the reviews I was still a little surprised by the heat. Thankfully, it was the good kind of spicy where you keep going back for another bite. Overall, a really nice spot with some seriously memorable bread.

Unfortunately, our dining experience was disappointing. We weren't allowed to order from the regular happy hour menu and were limited to a much more expensive fixed menu. The calamari was good, but the featured Jazzleberry cocktail tasted weak and watered down. The prosciutto and melon appetizer was served with a large piece of half-burnt toast, the melon was hard and underripe, and the prosciutto was dry and sliced so thick it was difficult to cut or eat. I asked only for a replacement piece of toast, but our server brought an entire basket of focaccia instead. Since we hadn't ordered it, we assumed it was a courtesy replacement. We were surprised to find an $8 charge for the bread on our bill. This was at least our third disappointing experience. Toscana has a lovely atmosphere and wonderful live music, but the food quality and service have consistently fallen short. I truly hope they can improve because I'd like to enjoy dining here as much as I enjoy the entertainment.
