    Signature roll platter (37 pcs)

Quality sushi and very delicious. Packaged very nicely and included soup and salad. One of the higher quality places around!

Nigiri Ya is a little hole in the wall but the outside says nothing about the inside. Inside is not huge but it is nice and well maintained. The food was delicious and just filling enough, although I could've kept eating for sure. They offer complimentary green tea with your meal. The service was good too. My favourite was the coconut shrimp with lime aioli roll. Will definitely be back

    All day bento A

Very slow customer service and food took forever to serve. It was a Saturday afternoon and they had lots of take out orders and looked like they only had one sushi chef and one chef in the kitchen. Food wasnt great either. Got the all day bento A which comes with a choice of teriyaki (got kalbi 3/5), dynamite roll (which was very mediocre 2/5), gyoza (which were cold inside 1/5), and tempura (3/5). Price was reasonable

    Tonkatsu with Japanese curry

So happy that a sushi place is in walking distant of our house! This lil gem is now in the microplay pho fusion plaza on bayview. We've ordered a tonkatsu pork cutlet with the Japanese curry, one eel sushi and an order of spider roll. I have to say, the pricing is well worth it and everything is super tasty. The portions are generous, my only tiny complaint is that there was just too much rice in the spider roll. The rice was definitely much thicker than most spider rolls I've had but this is still by far the best spider roll I've ever had. Whatever they put in this spider roll - simply chef's kiss , super delicious and the soft shell crab was PERFECT, still crispy, the batter hits just right, I hate it when other sushi places use bread crumbs on their soft shell crab - this place does it right aside from too much rice. I wish they sold the soft shell crab separately because it was just tooooo gooood. The unagi sushi was also so much better than all the places in Newmarket. This place specializes in nigiris so it isn't a surprise that their nigiris are absolutely top notch next level! It was so tasty. I can't wait to try their other sushi and torched sushi. Please give this place a try, I really enjoyed the food and I'm pretty picky with my sushi since it is my favourite food but this just jumped up to my top 5 sushi places in Newmarket. Happy eating fellow yelpers!

Had the AYCE weekend lunch ($30). Amusingly, you have to accept terms of service. There's no…read moredescription for many of the rolls. The cooking is generally decent, though the chicken skewer was dry & the udon soup tasteless. The sushi is above average in that the rice is noticeably warm & there's not too much of it, but it falls apart easily & there's not that much fish either. The meal came with a complimentary beef tataki. The sauce was heavier than usual - a bit fruity & quite acidic. It was pretty good. They have unusual dishes like yam fries, spicy miso soup & potato croquettes. They have one of smallest portions for sesame chicken for AYCE sushis, but definitely the largest sushi pizza portion. Dessert was a mixed bag. The sundae was good with crispy cookie crumbs & chocolate sauce. However the fried banana was below average (too soft, with too much artificial banana flavour) & the ice cream had more ice crystals than average.

Meh. It was okay. If I was in the area again, would I come back? Likely not…read more The service was excellent, so I'll given them that. The food looked great but I was left questioning what I ate. I had ordered the red dragon roll which, to me, should be topped with salmon. I don't know what it was but it sure wasn't salmon. I tried a piece of fish by itself thinking that maybe I would be able to figure it out but it was so nondescript that I couldn't. I thought maybe it was tuna due to its texture but it didn't taste like it. It really didn't taste of anything. Others opted for the lunch special bento box and they seemed pleased with their choice. The lunch bento boxes are good value for money and I wished I'd gone with the instead. Oh well, live and learn. The restaurant was clean and like I said, the service was excellent.
