There is plenty of shade along the way to stop for breaks, which is great because while the majority of the trail is well-shaded, you will encounter some strong, direct sunlight once you get closer to the destination. You walk back the same way you came. On our way back, we came across a marmot, which is basically a giant squirrel. It was my first time seeing one. So adorable.
