I took this as a sign and finally checked it out. I'm so glad I did! It was a slow day so I took my time to walk all around the store while asking questions. Turns out it's an artist co-op nonprofit. Several artists came together to start it in 2020 to showcase unique creations and offer one-of-a-kind, handmade and specialty items from 40+ local artists and artisan makers. The name was inspired by Leon Russell's "Hummingbird" song, which is appropriate since the Church Studio is a block away. You can find a wide array of items, from clothing and jewelry, to glasswork, mosaics, pottery, photographs, woodwork, and more. I found a really cute fall mini frame, bead earrings, and a sun catcher, all one of a kind, beautiful, and affordable. If you like a particular artist, they have all their cards at the register. They accept special requests and commissions, and are also able to ship. They display artwork from Tulsa Public School students and have special art events, and workshops. Admission is $15 but includes the museum as well. We were able to peruse around inside at the artifacts, grab a beverage at the lounge, and go outside to enjoy the music and sunshine. I was hoping we would get to see inside one of the recording studios, but they were closed off even though they weren't in use this day. Overall a good place to visit in Tulsa if they have some music or events happening, but if not then I wouldn't recommend paying $15 entry for just one room of artifacts. Parking is also very limited.

For an example on behalf of their musical history: The mic that we used to record with was the same mic David Bowie used. We were booked for a 2-day session & I enjoyed every second of it. There was a whole setup with snacks, water, tea & coffee. The engineers were open-minded & really good collaborators, they gave great feedback + input. Everyone on staff were nice & friendly. There's an outdoor concert series they have with shows happening 3 days a week. A lot of programming that's under their Institute that you can enroll in.

This is a wonderful Art Deco site, built in 1929. The building was designed by B. Gaylord Noftsger…read moreof Oklahoma City. I love the brilliant polychrome terra cotta ornamentation. Home Depot bought the site in the 90s, thankfully saved the facade and rebuilt a building for a million dollars! Way before my time, I read this site was McNulty Baseball Park where Babe Ruth and the Yankees played! I also didn't know the building had been Club Lido in the 30s. Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington and Cab Calloway performed there! It is in all the Art Deco books!
