It's a bit quaint (was an old church), so you don't have to dress up. But the entertainment is excellent. I went to see Tulsa! A Radio Christmas Spectacular. It was very funny and highly entertaining. The acting was very good, especially for community theater. The set design was simple, but set the mood appropriately. And the script was hilarious. My only problem was that I sat in the front row on the far side, so I had to turn my neck to see the left part of the stage. In addition, the keyboard was on my side and I couldn't always hear the actors. It wasn't enough to ruin my show, but I will look for a more center seat next time. Afterwards, they served hot cocoa and gave out candy canes. There was time to interact with the actors if you chose to. My husband and I enjoyed our time here and will be looking forward to another show in the near future.

So, we didn't experience any issues with buying or obtaining tickets and seats. It had been years since I attended. The last time was the Woody Guthrie Centennial concert. That was a slick and highly organized affair and I thought this venue was the perfect place for the celebration. This time, it was not as slick or organized but it was a heartfelt event and I thought the staff was great. We definitely needed help finding our seats and they were great. (Floor, barely left of stage about six rows back.) I was a little surprised at the lobby and the "concession" area--very much in need of some sprucing up perhaps. It's still a historic venue and I think we're lucky to have it (along with Cain's) in Tulsa. I would definitely attend another event here and plan to.

There is other stuff, like a barbecue dinner and Native American performers, but we got tickets for "Oklahoma" only. It was so fun! I had forgot about a lot of the plot (Ado Annie is my girl!). The music was wonderful of course, and there are real horses, loud guns! The lead actors were terrific, the rest of the cast filled in nicely, but wasn't spectacular. My favorite part was the very end when the cast has the audience join in singing "Oklahoma" while horses prance the stage with the Oklahoman and American flags and guns shoot at the end. "We know we belong to the land...." The setting is what makes this show amazing. The stars up above, the cicadas chirping in the trees..... Bring bug spray, and be prepared for a late night if you have little ones, the show didn't end until after 11, and we still had a 2 hour drive back to OKC.
