Nightcaps struck me as a below-average bar. It definitely epitomizes the term "dive bar," but I don't really mean that in a good way. The inside of the restaurant was very old-fashioned, but to the point of looking gross and unkempt. The bartender wasn't exactly rude, but I had to stand at the bar for about five (5) minutes before having my order taken. What I really didn't like about Nightcaps however, was the other patrons. They were very obnoxious and rude, and struck me as being very cliquish. When I was standing at the bar waiting for my drink to be made, this lady screamed in my ear to the bartender, and became visibly upset when the bartender wouldn't drop what she was doing and immediately close her tab. In my opinion, Nightcaps tries to serve as a "classic," "relic of the past," type of bar, but kind of misses the mark. It wasn't really my vibe.

    Awesome Cheese Sticks.

We have been coming here since the Whig closed to catch a drink and food. The bartenders are great, and Mark does a phenomenal job in the kitchen. Our favorites are the Egg Rolls, Pot Stickers, Cheese Sticks, and Lumberjack Pizza. It would be perfect if they added Hamburgers and Steaks to the menu. Just a note; you order food and drinks at the bar.

By far my favorite bar in Columbia. This was absolutely my "Cheers" bar! Met great people and made great friends the couple of years I lived in Columbia. Everyone is super friendly and welcoming! I loved coming early to shoot pool for a few hours until the younger crowd started to filter in... it gets pretty crowded the later it gets. Drink prices were reasonable and the food was some of the best "bar food" I've ever had! The mozzarella cheese sticks were more like cheese logs! Loved the pizza and the raw fries... everything was great! Fun listening to Touch Tunes or even coming to watch a game. So many great times! I'll definitely miss a lot of those smiling faces... Hugh damn right! ;)

We started with sharing the crab ragoon toast and charred wings, which were perfectly seasoned and not "too charred". We moved onto the hanger steak to split and it was cooked perfectly as well. All dishes were portioned to be able to split and the presentation and taste were off the charts. My husband's IPA and my cocktail were also great pours. The cherry on top was the cherry mouse which we split, but easily could have enjoyed two as it was so yummy. My waitress Lauren G very knowledgeable about the menu so I took her advice. I started with a glass of Angels Ink Pinot Noir. I chose a dinner portion of Ostrich and Cavatelli, followed by a smaller appetizer size of Fire Roasted Oysters. The Ostrich was good, although not as complex as I expected. Portion was smaller than I expected for the price. The Oysters (4) were out of this world. Next time I return, I'll go with three small plates. My only other suggestion is expanding the wine menu. They should offer more reasonably priced house reds and whites.

We made the stop after taking a tour of the state capitol - which we also highly recommend! The place is huge with ample seating inside and out. And the setting? It couldn't be better! Especially for anyone who likes airports, airplanes, old buildings, trains, or just unique locations. The food... we ordered the Garlic Knots, Mediterranean Pizza, and a Pepperoni Pizza, and were not disappointed. The Garlic Knots - freshly made, good quality dough. We almost went back and ordered a second order of 'em. The pizzas? We loved them! My son said the bottom could've been a little bit crisper, but otherwise, the quality of the ingredients was good, and both tasted great. The Brews... we enjoyed two flights, not bad overall. Our favorite one out of the bunch was the ESB. It's their Red Ale, and it was a good one! The raspberry sour was also a pretty good drink. The other brews, not bad, but also not the best we've had. Overall, a great place to stop when visiting the city, and it's a great place for friends, families, old and young. I would gladly stop in again if I'm ever in the area.

They have plenty of seating indoor and out, it's very open, clean, staff is friendly, clean bathrooms. My husband and I are gluten free and we noticed a lot of breweries have been doing gluten reduced beers so we decided to check them out and see if maybe they offered that. They had a few cider options so we went with those - not their own however. They also offered pizza and some appetizers. We decided just to get the bean dip, nothing special, pretty generic. Overall an ok experience just not something to visit again.
