The hotel has a good, retro feel and I love the hot showers there! Staff had been very nice, polite and simply helpful and because of the popular Benedict breakfast restaurant inside this hotel that opens in the morning and runs into late at night, the hotel feels very safe to me. The next time I'm in Berlin, I would definitely try to stay at this place again. Some rooms may be on a smaller side (and priced accordingly on a more budget side), but they do have much larger rooms, too! The shampoo, soap and lotion smell so nice and very aromatherapeutic! It's so relaxing being here at this hotel. Overall, I love it and it will be the hotel I look at first the next time I am in Berlin again!

The staff was super friendly and was able to answer all my questions, and they even gave me a handy map and a list of local events and sights to check out during my stay. The room was comfortable, and I had some of the best sleep I've had in ages on the super-comfortable bed too. I genuinely can't think of anything negative to say about this hotel. My only regret is not checking out the Benedict restaurant on the ground floor -- it looked busy, and the diners always looked very satisfied with their food, so that's something I'll have to check out next time I'm staying here. One thing to mention: if you're travelling for work, ask the staff to put you in a room with enough power sockets. Unfortunately, I could use only one power socket by the table, while the remaining two were pretty far from the office table (there's one socket per each side of the bed, which is helpful if you need to charge your phone or other devices). While this meant that I wasn't able to work in the comfort of my room, I'd recommend checking out the local coffee shops (make sure you go on a day you can use a computer, as a lot of Berlin coffeeshops have a "no laptop" policy on Saturdays and Sundays). That aside, this hotel is excellent, and I guarantee you'll have a tremendous 5-star experience here that'll make you want to come back -- I know I will!

The rooms are clearly pretty old, the furniture and the radio built into the bed make that pretty clear but it's clean and well taken care of, the old style of it was personally charming and combined with the relatively cheap prices was what convinced me to stay longer. The main downsides were the lack of AC and that the cold water wasn't regulated well and somehow ran low sometimes. The wifi could also be a little faster. Berlin was cool enough in the summer during my stay that leaving my window open at night was enough to keep the room nice but the first night when I kept the window closed I woke up sweating. If you are looking for a 5 star resort this probably isn't it but if you're looking for something well run, charming and cheap this is it.

It may look like a strange bedsit from the outside but inside is a wonderful clean mish-mash of old elaborate staircases and architecture. I loved this place which was really old fashioned without being grubby or faded. It had this ole style radio build into the headboard of the bed!! The Mrs and I enjoyed listening to German radio while drifting off to sleep. The room was quite big with high ceilings and had ample space for swinging cats. I do remember the doors were a bit tricky to master. There was this trick with swobs and pushing buttons, waiting for lights to come on then twisting. So be prepared for a challenge and leave plenty of time to figure out how to get into your room!! There's a little bar just past the main reception area which was cute and open until 10pm I think. The staff were polite and the breakfast looked Ok, but to be honest the area is perfect for breakfast with a wonderful bakery right next door you'll find it hard to resist.

The building itself is beautiful and elegantly decorated. We were greeted by Nina, a svelte blonde who showed us two room options and let me choose based on the size and view. She was nothing but polite and friendly and she greeted us and remembered us each day to ask us how we were doing. That really made an impression on me. Our room was large and beautiful and comfortable with large open windows and a beautiful soaking tub in the room and glass shower. The bed was also very comfortable and amenities in the room such as television and creature comforts were all taken care of. No complaints at all. My only gripe would be the included breakfast which was mostly cold-cuts and cheese unless you ordered from the menu and had the kitchen prepare it. I ordered an omelette with a lot of veggies and it came out wrong twice and took them over 20-minutes to cook the second time. So overall I waited something like 40 minutes for an omelette. They were avoiding me and started not coming to the table as I of course, got angry and upset. They were pretty unapologetic about it in general and it just really pissed me off.

I didn't get a chance to have dinner in the Michelin Star restaurant for dinner but their morning breakfast buffet was amazing. So many options and it's included in the room price. A must try is the bar located on the first door that looks out into Zoo Berlin. If your looking for a quiet, clean and comfortable room you must try Dos Stue. Uber and taxis all come to and drop off at this hotel.

I just came here for the first time with a group of friends and my hubby for a drink. We went strange up to the bar. Which that in the middle floor of the building. It calls One Lounge, it was a really fancy place. I like how the bar look. They got this movie theme all over the place. Same like at the reception downstair, which made the place more interesting, really cool. We went to the back side of the bar. Which there was open air seats around. The view was amazing. And we were here around the sunset time, having a drink on the top of the city Berlin, that was one of the kind experience. Speaking about the drinks. They got many different drinks on the menu, it ìs better to check it out on their site or check it out in the bar. For the gin lover, this is a great place as well, they got a extra menu just for gin. And don't forget to ask for it. I did find it a bit pricey though. I was in the mood for some hot coffee. The coffee was not bad. And the price was the same like a regular coffee shop. My friends also order different drinks, some are good. Some just so so. But we were happy with view and we had a great time here. At night, it got a bit cold, we moved inside the bar and continued out talked. There were some interesting books on the table, Which free to read. Fantanic! Overall I like this place quite a lot, I am sure that I will visit it again.
