I want Kelly to give me a massage ? Is that possible? I want an answer from NIDA not individuals?

Yes, you can ask for Kelly. I know Kelly very well and she is very good. In fact I know that she went to school (1700 hour course) in China.

This was an AWFUL experience! I booked a 60 minute massage online. Walked in and the first words…read moreout of the woman's mouth when I walked in were, "Do you need to go to the bathroom?" Not "Hi, do you have an appointment?" Not "What's your name and let's get you checked in?" In fact, she never did ask me any of that. Just pointed me to the restroom and pointed to the door I was supposed to go. She never asked my name or told me hers. Within one MINUTE of her beginning the massage, I realized I had made a mistake and thought, "I assumed this business uses *licensed* massage therapists, but I fear I was wrong." By minute two, the woman climbed on the table and STOOD ON ME! No heads up about that. While I was still in shock at a grown woman standing on me, she got down on her knees - hands and knees digging into my body. At no point was this "relaxation massage" ever relaxing. I got the massage this afternoon and have spotted one bruise so far. I will not be surprised to find more. It was rough from start to finish and I left feeling in more pain than when I walked through the door. Most QUALIFIED masseuses will begin with some questions (whether that's online, by filling out a form upon arrival, introductory conversation, or some combination thereof). Not this lady. She didn't ask, "Are you pregnant? Do you have any injuries I should be aware of or work around? What level of intensity would you like? What is your goal with this massage?" Nor did she explain anything in advance. She didn't say, "I'll be climbing on your back, pounding your feet, using hot stones that may burn you, and leaving the room without explanation a couple times." She said not a single word to me the entire time. No check-ins. And when she left the room? Left the door open. One time it was to pop her head out and tell a man who'd just come in the building to take a seat. Didn't even apologize for that disruption when she came back. I cannot emphasize the lack of SKILL and PROFESSIONALISM enough. I will be leaving reviews everywhere I can think of to try to save others the experience and I am looking at all avenues to file a formal complaint about this business. Worst massage of my life - their unlicensed staff and rough "techniques" are an injury waiting to happen. Please go elsewhere!!

Spa Retreat - The room where the facial was done - small, cozy. I appreciated the heated bed!

I read about the Facial Special for "Game Day" on your Facebook page, but since the spa had closed…read morefor the evening, I filled out an online form to be contacted the next morning. I did mention on the form that I was interested in the "Game Day Facial Special". I re-iterated that to the lady who I spoke with the next morning, and booked an appointment for 1 pm. I was so excited to get in the same day and finally get to try out your spa! I was told that a hold would be put on my credit card for the appointment (normal) and she said 3 pm and I corrected her to 1 pm. She also let me know she would email me some patient forms to fill out ahead of time - awesome! This was around 10 am and by 12:15, I had yet to receive an email, so I decided to head in early. I arrived at 12:45 and let her know that I never received the email. She told me my appointment wasn't until 3 pm. I reminded her about the conversation we had on the phone and I'd corrected her to 1 pm and she then said 1 pm. Unfortunately, she had put me down for 3 pm. I asked if we could do 1 pm since I was there and she said yes. She emailed me the form and I filled it out. Then she told me that they'd only be able to do a mini-facial...which is NOT what I wanted. Or I could have a massage. Also, not what I wanted. She then went and talked to someone about re-arranging her schedule and they must've figured it out because I was then told they could do the deluxe facial at 1 pm. By then it was a little after 1 pm. The person who did my facial (so sorry - can't remember her name - Carmen, maybe?) was great. Very good at explaining everything. It's a shame we started late (around 1:10, I remember looking at the clock as I was laying in the bed waiting). The facial was great - I enjoyed the products used (very seasonal smelling!) and the massage portion was super nice, too. It was a little light on the touch but that's my fault for not speaking up. When it was done, which was cut short (1:57) - I'm guessing to stay on schedule, she told me to get dressed and she'd meet me outside. I didn't realize she meant all the way at the front desk. I asked what kind of moisturizer she used, so she showed me. It wasn't until after I'd inquired about price that I was told I'd receive 15% off that since I had a service. I probably would've spent more on products had that been told to me as part of my end of service experience. When I went to check-out, I was told the normal price for the service, including a 15% gratuity. I told her I'd specifically scheduled for the Game Day special, and she said she wasn't aware of that. So to whoever does the social posts, please communicate to the rest of the staff what you've posted online! I also didn't realize the tip was added in to the total...that just kind of rubs me the wrong way. I almost always tip 20% - I didn't appreciate being told what I had to tip. We eventually got everything figured out and it wasn't until I left that I realized I didn't get the 15% off my product. Not a huge deal, it's just a couple bucks, but if you say you're going to do something, then do it. The specials the spa runs seem like great deals but the communication among the team is a little too messy for my taste. I'm not sure if I'll go back.

The only problem was I was good for nothing afterwards because I was so relaxed! :) Anyway, she did an amazing job, and it was so peaceful and nice. The only thing is that the $80 gift card didn't cover the whole thing since they raised the price $10 since August (my birthday month). There was tax and tip. Still a good deal and I definitely highly recommend Spa Retreat!

I had been to this place before and I believe I saw Heather then, but this time I saw Samantha because she was the first available and I was in a lot of pain! Samantha was great and was able to apply a solid amount of pressure the entire 60 minutes. I ended up having many more spots in my back that desperately needed attention so the hour was definitely worth it. Now, deep tissue massages can be intense depending on the amount of pressure needed or wanted. There were definitely some spots that were rough but the immense pressure was needed to break apart the nasty knots in my neck and shoulders. She put a lot of focus on the knots that were the worst of the bunch, and I didn't even have to tell her where exactly the pain was coming from because she easily found them. The amount of pressure is up to you, I just wanted as much as possible because the pain in my neck was bad enough. If you need as deep of a massage as I did, I highly recommend Samantha. Obviously she can be gentle too, but I feel like it takes a lot of strength to apply consistent pressure for a full hour. I went into there barely able to move my shoulders and neck, and left there much more relaxed and comfortable. The pain in my neck was so severe that I didn't think she would be able to get rid of it completely but she absolutely did! They have much gentler options for a more relaxed experience and both ladies did a wonderful job knowing what my body needed. It's a small suite in a row of businesses by Central ave but it is very comfortable and surprisingly quiet. Also very clean and I can tell they take a lot of care making sure their clients are comfortable. I definitely recommend this place. Thank you guys so much for helping me! Chances are, I'll be back because my back will forever be full of knots!
