I live no near this place but as a local bar and I can see it's charm. I ordered a Gin Rickey and it looked dark after explaining twice to the bartender how to make it and it was absolutely awful because he made it with JB whisky and not Gin, whiskey, seltzer and lime juice with a fresh lime doesn't mix very well at all. My friend politely asked the owner if he could turn is back down and that is when he started mocking her and saying "I can't hear you" and saying it is Friday night so let's party. Yes, it is your establishment and you are allowed to do what you want but I also have the ability to choose where I spend my money and I will NEVER step foot back into a place where the owner is messed up on drugs and alcohol and does not care about their patrons.

Ok let me get this straight, the dive bar doesn't have regular Makers Mark but they have the more expensive Makers Mark 46 OK. The game was playing on several TVs all over the bar which everything was into and it was not the packers playing. The sign on the wall had limited pizza options for food and all frozen I'm sure. Sundays are $3 mini pitchers of domestic beer which most people were having judging by how many were on the bar and the tip off to me asking if it was a special today. The bar was busy and the bartender eventually learned my name which I had zero expectation of since there were so many people. Love the vibe inside, the decor was cool and the trivia host even joked that maybe you'd find an answer to a question in all of it. For the trivia, I really appreciated the format. 3 rounds, each with 2 categories of questions. There aren't really long drawn out breaks in between questions which keeps things moving. They do take a break between each round, which is perfect so you can grab your next drink. The categories are fun and challenging. Losers get to pick a category for next week which I think is a fun twist as long as the category isn't super niche. But I guess that is the advantage of you are the loser that shows up the next week to play. Overall fantastic experience. I would recommend Blackbird to anyone who wants a hipster dive or a fun night of trivia.

This place has been around for decades. Don't tell anyone but when I worked at McD's on 76th street we would go here after close - mostly underage but it was a blast! Fast forward to being a legal drinker for many years - don't ask me how many :) Drinks are reasonably priced and everybody sits at the bar so this is my kind of place. So after a couple of cocktails you may want some food to coat your stomach and yes they have bar food. It's cheap, greasy and will hit the spot after a couple libations. Nothing special but it's solid bar food. The staff is friendly and tries to get to know you and will call you by your first name and remember your drink. The interior is just like a good dive bar but it is exceptionally clean.
