Christmas tree w all sorts of food ornaments!

What a welcome surprise!!!! I haven't been here in years... not for any particular reason just haven't made it back.... And I went w a group of 7 people for a holiday dinner. Our waitress Erin was amazing!!!! I really cannot say enough great things about her!!! She was very attentive and had her head on a swivel all night! Our drinks were great! I had a gin and soda w lime and it was yummy! Our table ordered seafood dishes, spaghetti, and chicken w vegetables and there were a lot of satisfied people!!! They were very busy tonight and still got our food hot and ready! I would definitely go back here and their take out must be just as wonderful because several people came in for orders!!!!! I was surprised that they had liquor drinks and they were made well!!! I can't wait to try more items from the menu!!! Thank you so much for a lovely evening!

Staff was friendly and welcoming . On Monday evening 02/15/21 I ordered the hamburger steak with cheese cooked medium baked potato and salad with thousand island dressing . I also order decaffeinated coffee which they brewed freshly for me! I have past this place for 28 years and this is my first time dining at Nicks . I will be coming back to try their spaghetti and veal. I enjoyed the experience. Bathroom were clean and you can tell the bathrooms are attended to regularly throughout the day.

This place seems to fill up, so definitely call ahead! As a first time visitor of the area coming from Vegas, Porters is LOVELY! The food, the lighting, the decor, the service. Truly a gem. His family was excited to bring me, and I see why. Despite being crowded, the servers were spot on with timing and hospitality. The owner even stopped by to say hello and happy holidays. Very attentive staff, and I can't praise them enough. The food was just as great. Meaty crabcakes with little to no filler. I ordered mine atop a salad, which was delicious and fresh. My boyfriend's ribeye was massive and cooked to perfection. Even the rolls for the table were delicious, and we had to bring home the leftovers. If I were a drinker, this would even be a great spot for evening cocktails. Great selection, everything looked great. The smoked old fashions ordered at our table looked wonderful. The hearty entrees didn't even leave room for desserts. It's all worth the price. Upscale dining feel in the charming small town of Gloucester Courthouse.

The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service made the evening feel truly special. The steaks were absolutely on point--perfectly seasoned, expertly cooked, and full of flavor. We were genuinely impressed. The chocolate torte was the showstopper of the night: rich, decadent, and the perfect finish to a great meal. Their wine selection was also surprisingly good, offering options that paired beautifully with everything we ordered. Porters on Main delivered exactly what we hoped for--a relaxed, upscale dining experience that made our celebration feel memorable. Highly recommend!

Berry Burrata 3/5 - Not my favorite, but still decent. Asian Chicken Wraps 3/5 - This was okay, just a little too saucy for me. Fried Green Tomatoes 5/5 - One of our favorites. The pimiento cheese paired perfectly with it. Carolina Burger 4/5 - Huge portion, and my son really enjoyed it. 2nd St Burger 4/5 - Another big portion and overall really good. Kids Pizza & Tenderloins 3/5 - Decent for the kids, though the pizza bread was a bit dense. DRINKS Margarita 4/5 Prickly Pear 4/5 Robin really made our experience even better. She checked on us frequently and made sure everything came out right. The portions here are on the larger side, so I'd recommend ordering family-style if you're dining with a group. Overall, we had a nice experience at To Do Cafe & Seafood. We stopped by this restaurant while…read moredriving to Va Beach because I think it was one of the few places that was: 1. no too far off route, 2. allowed dogs and 3. was open. The restaurant has a pretty low/relaxed vibe. So low/relaxed that I thought the two people at a dining table who let me know that the porch was open for service were customers. Oh! The paper place settings have little tidbits on Virginian trivia and history. For our dining enjoyment, we went with a couple of orders of burgers. I thought my burger was pretty tasty, especially with the restaurant's special BBQ sauce. Also, I thought the portion sizes were pretty generous for the price. The only very minor issue (as of March 2026) was that the restaurant did not have its liquor license, so we could not order a round of beers go accompany our burgers. Other than that small detail, we had no problem with the restaurant. Oh, I almost forgot to mention that service was pretty good, and the prices were pretty reasonable.

From the moment you walk in, you can tell this is a place meant for slowing down. You can sit, relax, and never feel rushed. Every single person who works here is wonderful, and the owner is an absolute hoot. She's a ball of personality in the best way possible, and it genuinely adds to the charm and warmth of the place. You can feel the care that goes into everything they do, especially the food. So much is made from scratch from the biscuits to the sweet treats and it truly shows in the quality. The layout of the café is also really well thought out. When you first walk in, there's a seating area up front, and then another space in the back that feels like the main gathering area. As the weather warms up, the front area opens up and gives you that airy, open feeling and honestly, there's nothing quite like enjoying seafood by the water. Families are clearly welcomed here, which I really appreciate. The front area has a few toys for kids, like oversized Connect Four, and the bathroom is spotless. It even has a changing table, and right outside the bathroom there are coloring books and crayons neatly set up such a thoughtful touch. I also have to give major credit for the seasonal décor. When they decorate, they truly go all out, and it makes each visit feel special and festive. On top of all that, the pricing is very reasonable, and the food is consistently excellent. I've loved everything I've tried from something as simple as a peanut butter and jelly to the seafood platter. This place has heart, personality, and amazing food. I can't recommend it enough.

Food wise, this restaurant offers a serious seafood steamer feast and we did not miss out! We went with snow crab and shrimp. Cooked just right and cleaned well. We also ordered scallops served on the half shell - Thai chili style. A little bit of a let down as they were slightly overcooked. The chili is quite hot and I like spicy food so it was good with me but too much heat for others at the table. If a good amount of heat is not your thing definitely order the scallops basil style. We are not oyster fans but if you are oysters are a specialty of the house. For sides we had fries and hush puppies. Fries were very good, and the hush puppies were outstanding. Whole pieces of corn inside and cooked to a perfect crunch on the outside I would highly recommend these. We finished off our meal with fried plantains for desert, served with chocolate sauce and whipped cream. A fantastic steamer meal. There is a lot of menu to explore here and entrees seemed to lean toward seafood Mexican style dishes including tacos, burritos, etc. For drinks, the restaurant offers a good selection of beers on tap, wines and a full bar. Definitely recommend and suggest trying a seafood variety steamer style- it was a lot of fun! Cheers, and happy eating!
