Chicken with Artichokes
Betty C.

A real neighborhood type spot. Not fancy, not overpriced and solid food, although not amazing. They did bring out some interesting bread with oil on the house. Wines by the glass were decently priced with generous pours. We had a salad with tiny chopped tomatoes, olives and cucumbers. It was very refreshing. My better half ordered the chicken cacciatore and said it needed a bit more flavor so he added salt and that helped some. My dish was the Chicken with Artichokes. It tasted just like chicken piccata but without the capers. Service was very professional and friendly. When we want Italian and don't want to break the back we might return.

We went to Nick's at the recommendation of friends. They were impressed with the variety of Italian cuisine. What a treat! It wasn't a very big place in a small strip mall with just enough parking. I noticed all tables sitting, no booths so that they could accommodate any size party. The menu was enormous with a wide variety of favorite Italian food including but not limited to pizza, pasta, beef, veal, and seafood dishes. My wife and guest selected eggplant parmigiana, our friend Dev picked a wonderful Salmon dish and I picked my all time favorite Chioppino. Of course I believe I got the best entree on the menu that included shrimp, calamari, mussels, in a wonderful marinara sauce on a bed of linguine, I was in New York heaven. We all had such big portions there was no room for dessert; however, the ample and delicious drinks made up for it. It's easy for me to recommend Nicks to you for an excellent dining experience at a moderate price!

Amazing!!! Everything. I had Salmon w/crepes pasta and IPA. My friend had Lobster ravioli w/ martini and both prepared perfectly. You're going to want more! Can't go wrong with anything. Very accommodating. Might as well get their amount catered. Super delicious. Easily located. Friendly environment. I got comfortable I could of sat all day and tried everything. Their very popular. Drinks are yummy too. People, Food, service, table arrangements, decorations, Yes everything great. Nick was hanging out too.

Okay food and service here. I'm not much for southern Italian food, even though I am Italian. But if you generally like Italian food, you'll probably like it. I would have given then one more star if their bread seemed homemade or was authentically Italian.

This place is phenomenal. I love the environment & service. The noodles were homemade from scratch and the bread tasted real and had substance. I will be back for-sure and recommend this to anyone looking to find a one of a kind restaurant in the Scottsdale area.

Always a pleasure, the best veal parm. Low key and great value. Quality has not changed post COVID as it has in many places.

"Eat Like Italiano at Marcellino"…read more Marcellino Ristorante in Scottsdale is one of those places that's clearly popular for a reason. There was a long wait when we arrived but the staff made it pleasant by bringing out free bruschetta while we waited, which was a nice touch. The ambiance is very Italian--warm, charming, and inviting. They also have outdoor seating, which adds to the whole experience. There was live music that night, and it really set the mood without being overwhelming. I tried two of their non-alcoholic drinks: the rosemary mint lemonade and the hibiscus mango--both refreshing and thoughtfully made. My husband went with a lager beer, which paired well with the food. When we ordered, we were asked if we wanted to try their homemade pasta, and once we heard they have squid ink pasta, my husband didn't hesitate. We ordered it, and wow--it was amazing. The pasta was deeply flavorful, loaded with seafood, and served with lobster meat on the side, which took it to another level. We also ordered the Filetto di Malale--pork tenderloin sautéed with tender asparagus and green peppercorns, finished with a bourbon flambé. It was incredibly tender and packed with flavor. For dessert, we had the flaming panna cotta, which was both fun to watch and deliciously sweet. We were also happy to meet the owner-chef, Marcellino Verzino, which made the experience even more special. Overall, this place is absolutely worth visiting if you're looking for authentic Italian dishes here in Arizona. Definitely a spot we would return to.

We planned a birthday dinner for my friend's 40th before heading out to the bars, and this place…read morewas perfect. It's big and has clearly been around for years. We made a reservation ahead of time and had a table ready for us on the outdoor patio. We went on a Friday and could instantly tell this place is legit. The ambiance isn't modern it's more home-style but honestly, who cares when the food is this good? The service was excellent and incredibly fast. We were on a bit of a time crunch, and they helped us wrap everything up right on schedule. For drinks, I ordered a Cosmo and oh my one of the best cocktails I've had. The flavor was perfectly balanced and so smooth. For appetizers, we tried Emma's dumplings, beet salad, Brussels sprouts, and burrata. They started us off with house-made bread and homemade butter, I could eat that all day. So good! We were pleasantly surprised by the amazing vegetarian options. The Brussels sprouts, beet salad, and Emma's dumplings were definite winners each dish was flavorful and beautifully presented. For mains, we ordered the penne vodka. I had high expectations, and while it was good, it was more on the average side compared to everything else. And finally the butter cake for dessert absolutely knocked it out of the park. You could literally taste the butter in every bite, Unreal. Pricing is very reasonable, and overall the service and food were beyond exceptional. We'll definitely be back!

We were celebrating our anniversary and the staff were so sweet to write us a handwritten note, this really started off our night on a good note so props to you guys! As a lemoncello connoisseur, their lemoncello in general was fantastic and the spritz was very refreshing and bright! It makes me very happy to know that they make everything from scratch, including some of their liquors. A little intimidated by the menu, I asked our server what he recommended. He was very knowledgeable and very descriptive when explaining the dishes! I got the short rib pasta, and my boyfriend got the shrimp linguine. This was seriously one of the best pastas that I've ever had! On both of our meals, the protein was just incredible. The shrimp was tender flavorful and I appreciated them keeping the shell on the shrimp it just tasted so fresh! For my short rib, it was just truly incredible. The sauce was rich and flavorful without being too heavy or overwhelming. The short rib just melted. Honestly, in this day and age it's very hard to find places like this in my experience where the service is top-tier. The ambience is welcoming, warm and you can taste the actual care and love that goes into everything that they put out. I look forward to bringing my friends and family to try this gem. In the meantime, I will be forever dreaming about my short rib pasta and lemon cello. Thank you DiMaggio's for making this a wonderful experience!

My Italian friend recommended Uncle Sal's as an authentic Italian spot -- so I had to go on that…read morerecommendation and I definitely thought the food was good. I did go on a first date here and maybe not as romantic as I would have liked -- much more of a family vibe -- or in the bar area was all about sports. It wasn't too loud so that was good since we were doing a lot of talking, LOL. It was a Saturday night and my date had made a reservation but it looked like we could have easily gotten a table without one. There is a parking lot but couldn't tell if it was easy parking because we took an Uber since we were drinkiing. I started with an espresso martini and I would give it a 4/10 -- I think the espresso used was low quality because it wasn't my favorite. My date got a whiskey old fashioned and he liked it. Service was pretty good -- it was a busy Saturday night. I wanted to order a glass of wine with my meal but the server was gone for some time so my date had to flag her down. I ordered the halibut with crab on top and the server recommended a white wine to pair -- I thought it was an usual suggestion but went with it -- she didn't even suggest which white - so I went with a Sav Blanc and it was actually quite good -- I didn't catch the name. We started with some shrimp cocktail and that was pretty good, sauce was tasty. The halibut was actually quite good and cooked to perfection - the crab on top was really good too -- it came on a bed of linguini which was too much -- I didn't really eat that. My date had the filet special with a lobster sauce -- it looked really rich and the portion was huge! He couldn't even eat it all. Overall I enjoyed my meal, I was quite full when we left, LOL! I didn't catch how much the total cost was but I think it had to have been at least $200 -- so definitely some dough will be dropped! But for a special occasion it is worth it.

It came with a side of green beans, which happens to also be my favorite. My BF enjoyed his Veal Parmigiana. Everyone enjoyed their food. I liked the atmosphere, nice wood decor and being dimly lit adds a sophisticated but still casual vibe. They also have a cool bar area, nice bartenders. We definitely will be back when in town.
