I am a frequent visitor to the Spa next door (AB FAB) and on the recommendation of their front desk person I thought I would give Nick's place a try. I ordered their Chicken Kabob Salad and a Pasta to go for my hungry son. Friendly and fast service? Check. Good value? Check. Huge selection? Check. Generous portion size? Check. Fresh and Delicious Food? Check. Check. Check! The Chicken Kabob had large pieces of succulent, juicy, and well seasoned chicken with crispy fresh salad, and my son devoured his Pasta and said it was better than home made! Which is great because cooking pasta in the hot summer weather is not my favorite thing to do, also the Pasta was on 50% off! Very happy to have finally tried this tasty and convenient (free and easy parking) local restaurant. They are open late and deliver too which is great. I've avoided this place for years after discovering (the hard way) that they'll put condiments on your sandwich that you didn't ask for. Yesterday, I was having a hankering for a classic Boston-area roast beef sandwich, so I figured I'd give them another try. I started off with a slice of pizza, which was dry and tasteless. I followed that up with a roast beef sandwich, which was one of the most disappointing I've ever had in this area. The beef wasn't warm, and it was so lumpy that several times, I found it impossible to bite through and wound up pulling a huge lump out of the middle of the sandwich with my teeth. Either they're using a cheaper cut of beef than every other roast beef joint on the North Shore, or they're not cutting it as thinly. Either way, I won't bother going back to this place. read more

I ordered a "Large Margarita Pizza" which was described on the menu as having "Fresh mozarella, fresh basil, garlic, sliced tomato, olive oil". This was the worst pizza I've had! No garlic, no tomato, no olive oil... only a bad crust with a bit of sauce with some cheese. I definitely will not go back! read more

Sad to say, but this place was filthy, uninviting, SLOW service, and my food wasn't good. The dirty floors and tables should have been a sign to turn tail. Marginally friendly staff took forever to get my food ready. I was the only person there. My hot roast beef sandwich was barely above cold. Meat was gamey. Fries were Ore-Ida, but at least they were piping hot. I will not return. You should not either. Plenty of other options down the street. read more

I first was introduced to Nick's place when we moved about 3 blocks away 20 years ago. Since then I have been hooked on their Chicken Kabob salad. After moving to the next town over, we started to look for local comparables. We still find ourselves going out of our way, or after work to stop by Nick's and pick up a Kabob Salad. We have not found another place that comes close to Nick's Kabob salad. Nick has his little secret that makes his salad unique. He has been able to maintain the quality, freshness and taste of his Chicken Kabob salad. I highly recommend it. P.S. Their pizzas and stake subs are also very good. read more

If I didn't have a microwave I'd never get delivery. 100% of the time the god is delivered cold. However, the food is very good. The first time I came in here the guy behind the counter said they were closed, even though it was not late, the lights were on, and the door was open. I was not thrilled with that, but I figured and come back and see if they were open this time. I got a burger with nothing else. While my friend and I waited I couldn't help but notice COPS (classy) was on the TV by the door and some guy with a weird mullet was being arrested, who knows for what but that hair was a major violation. This place is awesome. I've been coming here for 15+ years and I really don't think there's anything better for a quick and easy meal that tastes great. Huge menu selection! The large calzones are big enough to have leftovers for a week! Chicken and Broccoli calzone is my favorite. The Greek salad is excellent, and even better with Chicken Kabob. Best burger with everything, anywhere in Greater Boston. I share the burger with my husband and we're both full. It's huge, it's a bargain, but I drive out of my way because it's a good burger. Good meat. Loads of things on the menu I have never tried. I am mainly reviewing the burger, because I found it the best and have been coming back just for that for years. We have had occasion to get the subs and so on, which are just as good a anywhere, basically, pretty good and responsibly crafted. But those burgers are the hook. I just moved to CA and can't find one sub place as good as Nicks! I really all of their items - but my favorites are the steak and cheese, roast beef - super beef is unreal!!!, chicken kabob dinners fish and gyro. I am not a pizza person but their pizza is good. Thick Greek type pizza and everyone I know likes it. It's great you can get delivery but pick up is easy too as the parking lot has lots of spots. Service is good and consistent! I was in the area last weekend and was looking for lunch and decided to stop here. I got a few slices. The pizza was very good and was pretty cheap. The service was great as well. Nick was there and was very nice! He told me he was making a fresh pizza if I wanted to wait for my slices or I could have the last two slices sitting there. I have not had anything else to eat here, so this review is solely on the pizza slices and the service. I was pretty happy with my decision to have lunch there. Best beef? No. Best beef by me, now that the next closest option are mileS away, rather than mile or less? Yes. The regular beef was adequate too our needs. It was monstrous. I tremble at the thought of the size of the super. And the beef itself was good good - warm, a little red, and in an agreeable mound. Bust on the BBQ sauce, though, which is why I'm docking a star down to three for now. Was it actually buffalo sauce? Might have been. It was hawt, sure, but a bit too much so, and a little watery. Ordered Two slices. One Cheese, One Cheese Steak. First glance the slices looked pretty small. I went for the Cheese Steak first and for the amount of grease there was on this slice, it didn't provide much flavor. The meat tasted dry and somewhat sweet. I was looking for Steak that tasted more like a Steak and Cheese Sub. After this slice I ate the Plain Cheese. It was a tad on the greasy side and although the cheese had the right texture and was sharp tasting enough, the slice altogether didn't have that restaurant level taste, it tasted closer to freezer pizza. On both of the slices, the sauce looked like it taken straight from the can and lacked any personality with any spices or added ingredients. The dough also lacked any complexity and tasted like flour. Again the best way to describe is just a step above freezer food. I'm giving 3 star average since the place looked pretty clean and the staff was friendly and pretty fast with the order. 2 Stars for the food 4 Stars on the service 3 Stars for the price read more

Let me start by saying that the food is pretty awesome, especially the roast beef sandwiches. With that said why does it always take so long to get your food? It's not all the time. When the manager is there the food goes out, when he has the day off it doesn't. If I could rate this place as zero stars, I would. Ordered lunch today for delivery by phone. Turkey sub with specifically communicated condiments, but not mayo, since I can't eat it. Sub was delivered, slathered in mayo. Called back to ask to have it rectified, since the sub I had was one I physically could not eat. Got two different stories about why the wrong order was apparently "my fault" - (1) the turkey sub comes standard with mayo (though apparently not with anything else, and mind you, the menu simply says, "turkey sub"); and (2) then, from another person, it must have been communicated by phone that I wanted mayo, which is why they put it on there. Clearly, neither story matched. I was told that I could drive over to have the sub fixed, which was not a possibility, since I didn't have time sufficient in my lunch period by this point to make the ride. So I had no lunch today and went hungry, and also gave Nick's ten bucks for a sub I couldn't eat. I happen to like turkey subs, and am not new to ordering. Reputable places don't add condiments randomly to subs without asking, and they also take responsibility for their errors. Logical people who cannot ingest mayo wouldn't order it on purpose. Essentially, Nick's made a mistake, blamed me, took my money and left me with no lunch. After work, I went to D'Agostino's for the turkey sub I wanted. For two dollars more than the money I threw out the window for a lunch I couldn't have from Nick's, I got a fresh-made sub with the condiments I wanted in speedy time and with much more high-quality cold cuts. I would recommend Nick's to positively no one. Buyer beware: if they mess up your order, you'll be out your money and left with food you either can't or don't want to eat. read more

Slice seemed like it had been sitting under a warmer for a while; overcooked crust and dry cheese. Surprisingly the slice wasn't very warm. Even their burgers are great, which can be hit or miss when it comes to takeout. I highly recommend their steak and cheese and calzones. They've screwed up my order honestly almost every time I've been in here, and I just had the last straw. I sat inside waiting for 30 minutes after calling an order and watched them screw up 3 separate orders. Literally every single person that got their food had something wrong with it. Finally after debating I went up to the counter to ask about my food only to be handed a package that had been sitting there almost the entire time. Fine things happen, however I got food poisoning! I've never felt so sick in my entire life. The place is so dirty and gross so it doesn't really surprise me. Your run of the mill pizza / sub shop with sub standard food. Nothing really worth getting except for pizza and that's even questionable. Food is just thrown together with little care or attention to detail. Flavoring is typical frozen prepared foods. Surprisingly the items on the menu are pretty expensive. Service is not at all quick be prepared to wait even if you call ahead, often times people working don't even have a clue of what's going on. Cheese bread seems to be the local flavor in Lexington. My last round pizza order (over 2 years ago) from Nick's did not do much to change my mind. I once ordered an Italian sub and found it lacking in meat ( I have started to make my own). Fries are generally good. Poorly managed. Staff isn't very bright. I ordered a gyro and the dimwit at the register ordered me a dinner that I hadn't ordered. I told her that I don't want the dinner, just the gyro, she asked me if I wanted bread with it. I said no, just the gyro. I get home and all they gave me was the meat, no gyro. I called them to complain and told them to deliver me what I ordered. The manager was rude and told me I was wrong and the delivery will take awhile, then he hung up on me. Disgusting. Every single table was dirty. There was food on the floor under almost every booth. The patron or two who were seated at tables eating were at tables that were clearly soiled by multiple previous customers. The napkin dispensers on at least two tables were covered in condiment spatter and saucey fingerprints. It was 94 degrees outside and they only had ceiling fans on inside. It literally was pushing 100 inside. One of the patrons went up to the counter to compliment the staff on how good the steak tips were and the guy and the girl behind the counter barely acknowledged him. The girl said nothing and the guy said "uh huh". If the staff's cruddy mood was because of the lack of AC then maybe you should do something about it. If the staff doesnt care about or at least REPLY TO positive customer feedback then theres a problem. If your restaurant is fukn disgusting and youre not cleaning, its a problem. The grilled chicken kebob actually tasted really good. Too bad I only wanted to inhale just enough of it to no longer be hungry and get the hell out of there! Plus they didnt drain off the grill grease from the chicken before putting it in the wrap so my sandwich was just dripping. FAIL. Wow, no reviews? Good beef especially when the place is cranking as opposed to quiet (kind of like getting Guinness at a place that pulls hundreds of pints a day versus only a few). Fine food but poor service. I'd ordered here plenty of times but moving forward will be going with more customer friendly business in Lexington like Mario's on Mass Ave and Alexanders on Bedford Street. When There was some confusion with a delivery recently the manager offered to have the driver return my tip or give me a credit but wouldn't comp a menu item. When Marios got my order wrong they told me my next visit was on the house. Simple gestures go a long way when it comes to retaining loyal customers but Nick's failure to appreciate this has landed a long time customer into the arms of a local competitor. read more

You can download a app called SLICED and Nick Place takes orders from there They also have subs and salads I love the Pasta Chicken Alfredo I'm picky about ordering that dish since a lot of ppl cannot make it right. I go to Nicks for pizza take out very often. I wouldn't choose to eat there, the seating area isn't very clean and very outdated. Typically they are slow to answer the phone, if they even do but the pizza is decent and it's cheap. One specific time I called and was put on hold multiple times, if the line was busy, finally got through to order my one pizza for pick up..then I got there the line was out the door. Waited for too long, got cut by two impatient customers and once I finally got my pizza, that nobody thanked me for my patience for, it was awful. Slow service, and busy nights affect their quality of service and product. So disappointed and won't be returning anytime soon. read more
