    Nick's Pizza - Pompano Beach

Sometimes when I'm in the mood for pizza, I just want a slice....is that so wrong? While riding around the area, I spotted Nick's Pizza on the corner of McNab & Cypress Rd. and quickly stopped by for a pizza slice to munch on. Nick's Pizza is a small family-owned restaurant offering a vast selection of dishes such as: * Specialty pizzas * Appetizers/salads/desserts * Wings/subs/calzones & stromboli * Italian entrées/pasta dinners They also cater and have lunch specials. Prices are moderate. Upon entering, I was greeted by one of the male employees in the open kitchen who quickly got my cheese slice heated in the oven. Let me just say, you are getting a big cheese slice for about $4. Nice layer of cheese and sauce on a crispy thin crust....it's definitely hitting the spot.

This place has potential. They opened last week and will be holding their grand opening in a couple weeks. Right now the dining room isn't open but there are a couple tables inside. And they are still waiting on some supplies -- like cups. The menu is extensive, but for a neighborhood place their entrees are not inexpensive -- plus there is a $5 sharing charge. But this location -- which has been several other restaurants -- has usually done a lot of takeout, so that may not be an issue. Slices are $3.50 each, so we figured we'd get a medium (14") pizza and share it with a couple leftovers instead of two slices each. We added mushrooms. It's my fault, as I should have asked, but I'm not a fan of canned mushrooms on my pizza -- and that's what they were. The dough and sauce were fine. I think I'd ask for more well done next time. I'm glad we came to try them out. Now we know.

The authentic and home cooked food is fabulous and the service and ambience are he great as well. We often eat takeout from here and it's enough for at least three meals, we love it!

Service 10/10…read more Service was amazing. We traveled here from Louisville, Kentucky for vacation. When we arrived they explained their menu to us. Going in the first thing I noticed was how amazing the smell of the pizza was. The staff were friendly and helpful in explaining the choices. Food - 10/10 My partner and I ordered a half and half Pizza. He's basic and just got cheese, while I guess I'm extra and got the Calabresa. It has the best and freshest ingredients by far on any pizza I've ever had. The sausage was so good and you could tell the pizza was made tender love and care. This pizza to me is smack your mama level of pizza! My partners only complaint was that a little of my ingredients got on his side of the pizza. (More on this below.) Allergy - 10/10 The staff was considerate of my food allergies and friendly. I'm not sure if they have gluten free options as I don't have this allergy but I'm sure if you call a head they can answer any questions you may have. Environment / Ambiance - 10/10 The place is cute, comfortable, quant, and cozy. We didn't feel cramped and there was a steady stream of customers throughout our time there. Restrooms - There didn't appear to be any restrooms / we also didn't ask. I would say make sure you use the restroom before you go or order it for pickup and take it home with you. This is probably my biggest gripe. Being out of town not sure how common this is. Sensory - 10/10 Sight - the light level was well lit and not overwhelming. Clean and not overwhelming with lots of unnecessary items. Smell - clean and fermented pizza smell. Touch - the chairs were comfortable with some cloth fabrics. Sound - below Noise Level - 10/10 Place doesn't have any music playing which is what I prefer. I don't like to not be able to have conversation with others. LGBTQ+ Rating - 8/10 Me and my partner didn't receive any stares or any harassment or feel uncomfortable. No support signage visible. Would Be Back / Would Recommend - we ended up going back the next day. My partner and his mom ended up getting a cheese by themselves and I got the same as I got before. I do which they had smaller / individual size options. I would highly highly recommend this place to others as it was the best pizza I've had by far in my entire life (40 years). Total Score 9/10 4.75 / 5

We actually had a funny start to the evening as we accidentally sat at the restaurant next door and didn't realize it until the waitress brought out a menu with rice dishes. That's when we knew something was off! Once we made our way to the right place, everything fell into place perfectly. We started with a fresh salad, then had two pizzas: the cheesy chicken and a white pizza (no onions). Both were outstanding-flavorful, perfectly cooked, and incredibly satisfying. Every bite was delicious. From the moment we walked in, the service was warm and welcoming. The woman at the front took her time explaining the menu, which made ordering easy and enjoyable. The restaurant itself is clean, organized, and inviting, with photos of the pizzas on display that make it even more appealing. I'm already looking forward to my next visit and this place is definitely going into my regular rotation.

The reviews were so positive that my husband and I decided to give it a try, and we are so glad we did. We just found our new pizza spot! The food was amazing. We ordered a pepperoni Sicilian pizza, six garlic rolls, and two mini cannolis. Pizza: Outstanding. I love Sicilian style, and while it is thick, the crust to topping ratio was just right. It was not too bready at all. The sauce and cheese were delicious, and each slice had four pepperoni, which was great distribution. Garlic rolls: YUM. These are perfect. My favorite thing at any Italian restaurant is garlic rolls, and these hit every mark. Soft on the inside with a slight crisp on the outside, and perfectly seasoned with parsley, garlic, butter, and Parmesan. We only ordered six to try them, and the moment I saw them I knew I should have ordered more. Cannolis: These are one of my favorite desserts. They were good, but did not wow me. That may be because the pizza and garlic rolls stole the show. I do wish they had been finished with powdered sugar, chocolate drizzle, or chocolate chips. I am not sure what is most traditional, but I am used to seeing at least one of those, so it felt like something was missing. We ordered at 4:00 pm on a Friday, and the food arrived at 4:31 pm, even though we live about 18 to 20 minutes away. I was very impressed with the speed and the freshness. Everything arrived piping hot. Highly recommend!

Our group of 10 or so started outside but it was hot and there wasn't any breeze, so we relocated inside. Our server, Fadi, followed us and provided excellent service. He was personable and really set the tone for friendly and professional service. My husband enjoyed their pinot noir and I loved the Don Julio 1942. We each had salmon - it was juicy and well seasoned. I had the spinach as the side and both were good just know that the spinach is generously dressed with oil. We split carrot cake with our friends - we ordered a slice for each end of the table and people who didn't want to have any were having fork fights with others! The cake is served with ice cream and whipped cream. Definitely have a bit with the ice cream. Their espresso is fresh and strong. We both wanted to lick the inside of the cups but restrained ourselves! Just know that the ambiance, service and food quality ain't cheap. You can self-park, so that'll save ya money, but seriously, every once in a while you want to have your high expectations met and Miraggio can easily do it.
