It's been two years now since I got my mattress from Nick. The mattress has been tolerating our combined weight of 400 pounds quite beautifully. We sleep on it daily. Just for your reference, the one that we chose was the firmest one - Queen size. It's still firm and wonderful to lie down on it. It still does not buckle down from the corners !!! I'm a light sleeper, I sleep hot, I can't sleep past 8am...sleeping was never my forte and I thought was a me problem. I realized it was actually a mattress problem. My partner and I just moved and I was determined to get the best mattress. We knew we didn't want one of those crappy boxed mattress. Nick is knowledge and candid; he's not here trying to scam you. The store is small and has has less than a dozen mattresses but that's honestly all you need. He sells many of his mattresses to high end hotels so you know he's only carrying the best stuff. We made an appointment, told Nick exactly what we wanted, and he recommended two of his best selling mattresses and we bought it within 30 minutes. Just received our king size luxury mattress from Nicks Got Your Back. My daughter lives in LA and I was visiting her a while back when I discovered Nick's Culver City boutique. I had been to the big box stores and hate the experience of the typical store. My daughter had suggested I buy one of the "bed in a box" options and I noticed that Nick had them in the showroom to explore. However, when I contrasted to his custom made mattresses, there was no comparison. He educated me on the composition of materials and which ones would fit my needs. I've had hip pain in the morning recently from a too firm mattress. Two nights in and no hip pain! There was a little delivery hiccup in the shipment to the Bay Area but Nick jumped in immediately and sent a second mattress with an expedited delivery. Nick asked the right questions to determine what type of bed I was looking for. Then sent me photos along with in-depth description of four different beds. I had specific requirements in the height of the bed. I'm having hip surgery soon, so didn't want it to be too tall. Went from a California King to a Regular King ... what a difference those 4 inches make. Nick matched it all up and I selected my bed. Within a week he called with delivery date. His delivery guy, Robert, was absolutely fantastic. Removed the old mattress and box spring, installed a metal frame and the bunky boards, then the 15 inch deep mattress. Even took over the vacuum to help with the accumulated dust. And helped put the bedding on. I was worried about making the bed with such a deep mattress. I have found it is not a problem. I came to visit Nick two weeks ago after already being sold on another mattress from a competing company. I thought it was a little unusual that Nick runs his business by appointment only and I found that out after I dropped by the shop. His doors were closed to the public during broad daylight, however; he was able to get to the shop about 15 minutes after I got there. Nick is a very very good businessman and provides stellar customer service. He is attentive to your needs and recommends his product to fit your requests. As far as bed salesmen go, he has developed a good product and delivers it to the customer without much advertising or PR. This helps cut down on costs and allows the customer get a good product with less BS I called Nick hours after moving to LA last year and within 16 hours after meeting him at his showroom and setting up delivery, I had a comfortable memory foam mattress for way way less than it would have cost to get something comparable from the big box stores or even the random stores on Pico that sell you nonsense. I appreciate the drive and brains Nick has to see the customer;s needs in the market and develop a niche way to satisfy the need. I will say, it is important to know yourself and your sleep style before going to Nick. Buying a bed is a very intricate experience very much like buying shoes. You will spend a lot of your life on your bed and it is important to get the right fit. Nick is not a chiropractor, and neither is he your boyfriend, girlfriend, spouse or parent. He will only interact with you for 30 minutes tops and he can only fulfill the needs based on what you tell him. So a basic understanding of whether your comfort is better on firm vs soft; spring vs coils, memory foam versus tempur material is important to limit complaints and issues later on. SO, know yourself, know your body and speak clearly and I trust that Nick will have your back to the best of his ability. It is only in his best interest to do so. Thank you for helping out man. Wow!! Buying a mattress could seriously, not have gone smoother - I am so glad I called Nick. I found him here on Yelp, trusting everyone's glowing reviews and I really couldn't be happier. I needed a new mattress on the same day that I moved into my new place. I emailed Nick through his site as soon as I got my move date (about a week before I needed delivery) and he emailed back right away to introduce himself. He called me that evening when I got home from work (loved the flexible schedule he offered since I work constantly) and I told him what I needed. I also admitted that I knew nothing about mattresses, but I needed something that would be good for un-doing all the back pain I endure at work. I gave him my [very modest] price range and we discussed several options he had for me. He called me the night before my move to set up a time and to finalize the type of mattress I wanted. He showed up the next day right on time, lugging my gigantic mattress up my new stairs. He set up the bed and frame in what seemed like a blink of the eye, and I tried it out. It was perfect! I had my first night with it last night and it was ridiculously comfortable. I seriously feel like I got a top of the line mattress for half the price - just amazing! If I had more time and wasn't so stressed about the move, I may have tried what some of these other reviewers did and go to the factory to test a few. However, this is his business, so I knew he would know what was best, and he really did. The whole thing took maybe half an hour? It was just so nice not to have to worry about one more thing on my move day, especially something as important as my mattress. First of all- when you can call someone at 8 pm at night, for anything, it's pretty amazing. Not only that when you hear things like yes sir and no sir it only sounds better. What can I say- Nick start's off as a good ole American Boy! He answered all my questions about his mattresses. He helped me understand why I was paying $50.00 more between two different choices, without "upselling" just being honest. And for $500.00 he delivered at the exact time I needed. Last Sunday, I was moving and I needed a mattress ASAP (I really hate sleeping on air mattresses). Instead of spending hours going in and out of mattress stores, I hopped on my trusty Yelp app and found Nick. After reading the reviews, I went for it and bought a mattress over the phone and had it delivered without seeing it. I'm trusting, I know. As it turns out, the mattress was way too firm for my liking, something I didn't realize until I'd slept on it for a few nights.
