Outrageous experience. This business has a long list of negative reviews for a reason -- and now I understand why. Based on my experience today, I felt completely taken advantage of. We were told one thing and then faced excessive fees just to retrieve our vehicle, with policies that felt designed to make the process as difficult as possible. The lack of clear explanations and the overall attitude we encountered came across as apathetic, dismissive, and interruptive. We ultimately had to arrange our own tow, and even the experienced tow driver who picked up our vehicle mentioned that this company has a poor local reputation. That alone speaks volumes. I was unfortunately involved in an accident and my classic car was completely totaled. While I went to the hospital, Nickolich arrived on the scene and took my car to their yard. When I was able to recover and visit the yard, I was taken back by the level of care they used in storing my vehicle, tarping it, taking great care of it not to cause further damage, and they were very nice and helped me in every way to take proper actions moving forward, even as much as helping me through the experience and treating me like a regular customer. I was very impressed with the owner Nicky and the lady behind the counter for treating me well, taking great care of my car, and their employee who runs the yard was also very genuine, very nice, and I would highly recommend this towing company in the future for ANY needs you might have with transporting, storing, or taking care of your vehicle. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! My friend was in a minor accident in this area. The police called this tow company for her, as she is not familiar with how things work, and has only lived in the U.S. for two years. We went to get her car after two days, expecting the towing cost plus $35 day storage. They charged her $650 with crazy charges like "Administration fee" and "Gate fee" and "Fuel" and "Attendant fee"and even "Winching service" They did not even use a winch! I think the woman there took one look at her (she is a muslim woman) and took advantage of her because of her race/religion. or because of her accent, or limited English, and because she doesn't know how these things work. Had my car taken there after getting stopped by an state police officer for not having my car registered nor being inspected, and was impressed with the look of the building and how clean & nice it looked for the area it in. The lady at the window was super nice and understanding of my anxiety for the day had been a long day and was worried about getting my car back because it had been there for a good while. I just wanted to have an end to this nightmare however it was quite an expensive ordeal so I asked the lady at the window if they can do anything with the cost of my bill, she said they couldn't. So I counted out my money to her wondering how I was going to pay for my tow back to Greensburg. Needless to say as the lady at the window counted out my money she smiled at me and handed me a nice bit back. I am so thankful she was nice and God is so good. Police made me use them because my car broke down in the middle of the road. Had to pay cash with no receipt given. Was told I was not allowed to go into yard to inspect my car. When another trusted tow company brought my car out of their yard the right side of my car was all dented. The proceeded to tell me it was not on their yard anymore. This guy is the definition of a hillbilly piece of shit. Broke down and had to be towed (semi truck). Had a wrecker on the way which didn't take all that long to get to the location but instead had to end up waiting at Nickolich's yard waiting for us to get there and we weren't more than about 5 miles away, so I was being charged by the hour by Diamond Towing which is a good company that treated me right, was reasonable on their rates and came highly recommend by the company I'm leased to. Nickolich charged me over $6,100 to separate the truck and trailer and tow them to their yard which I didn't authorize them to even touch my truck. Should have taken note when an off duty fire department employee and local cops were acting strange. Seemed a lot like a team effort between all of them and the owner just acting like a grade A prick. No way was I letting my truck out of my sight after having read reviews about items coming up missing. Avoid this place at all cost. Extortion at it's finest. I had a terrible experience with this company. I was stuck with my flatbed in Glassport, PA and when the police arrived, they called a towing company. And it was this one, cuz it was very close, their office was 3 miles away from where I was. And they took my trailer to their office, again 3 miles. A total of 6 miles to come and go. I was charged $6500!!!! I have never seen such prices anywhere and never before. I waited 2 hours for them to bring a bob tail and it took them another 2 to tow my trailer. The employee at the office was rude, didn't want to show me the invoice until the company didn't pay the $6500, like it was $5 to pay and like it's so easy to come up with $6500!!!! Extortion at its finest! Towed my semi truck and trailer 8 miles to their yard. (the truck over heated) Clairton police called them in. Police said we needed to get an inspection, which we did and passed. $6500 for the tow and clean up. They also drug their feet when I asked for the bill and wire transfer information. They were trying to get overnight storage. They would not take the truck of the wrecker until paid. They were called in at 10:25. Our GPS showed the truck arrived at their yard at 12:00. (their bill shows 2:30) Called multiple times to get the bill and info. Did not get the invoice until 3:09...at 4pm the wire transfer would have to wait until the next day. On this evening, I had the pleasure of dealing with Nickolich Towing and Salvage. I had struck some debris in the road, and requested a tow to come and change my tire, or tow me to shop that could. I could not loosen the lug nuts. Well, the driver showed up.....finally. He was unable to loosen the lug nuts, also. He then states, I'll be back, as he had to go back to the shop to get tools. When he came back, he ended up rounding off the lug nuts. He then gathered up his tools, and said he couldn't do the job. I then asked him,what do I owe you for the work that was done, to which he answered, "how does a $100 sound?" I then explained to him it sounds like I'm getting f#@ked. We ended up settling on a lesser amount, at which time, I was still on the side of the road, in worse shape than I began. Thank God a reputable tow service showed up to get me out of the area. Nickolich Towing is the absolute worst company I have dealt with. After a recent accident, they towed my vehicle to their location. When my insurance company tried to schedule the release of my vehicle, Nickolich would not release it unless the bill was paid in CASH (the total was $533 - this was for a tow & 2.5 days in their tow yard). btw...I am from out of state, so there was no way I could have even dropped off CASH. They stated that the only way they could accept payment by check is if they had worked a lot with my insurance company (a national company, btw), since they have not, it is CASH only. The funny thing about this though is that Nickolich was willing to pick up a check from my Adjustor, but they didn't know him from Adam. After a bunch of run around with Nickolich, my insurance company contacted another tow company in the area, that actually agreed to pay Nickolich to release my vehicle & they would bill my insurance company. Thank goodness for Hamilton Towing for doing this...they were so friendly & such a blessing! To wrap up, my adjuster even stated that Nickolich was a bunch of crooks. There is definitely something shady going on there. Avoid them at all costs (and trust me...they are quite the cost).
