You will find this piece at the Window of the World shopping plaza (the old Lafayette Square Mall) next to Shopper's World. The mall is pretty vacant and under construction. Parking to get a closer looked at the mural is very easy and it is a huge parking lot available for the mall that has few cars because the mall is vacant.
This mural is the work of Nick Abstract, a color-blind contemporary artist, who specializes in geometric abstraction. It is a simple mural, measures 36 feet tall by 72 feet wide, and was painted in the Summer of 2022. As the artist's name implies, it is an abstract piece. The mural is very colorful and goes with the colorful theme of the mall. The mural depicts the Mall's "W" logo with colorful bands of light emitting from it in geometric patterns. It is painted on a beveled wall which gives it somewhat of a 3D effect and just adds to the mural. The colors are very vivid and really pop.
When speaking of the mural, Abstract said "Painting this [mural] was a dream. Massive lines, sweeping shapes of angular momentum. It was an all-around good experience and I hope the mural lives on for years to come - to inspire people and engage those with a curious mind."
Anyway, as with most murals that I have visited and reviewed, this is not a long stop. I was there less than 5 minutes. So, you may want to consider planning out additional stops at many of the other attractions in the area, or making this stop part of a larger itinerary to maximize your time and trip. read more
