This COMPANY is amazing! Not only did they make my 30+ year old carpets in my rental look BRAND SPANKIN NEW - but they cleaned my carpets on my LUNCH BREAK!!! They were super speedy & friendly. I would reccomend them to ANYONE & IM GOING TO! & when they were leaving, one of my neighbors walked by & said "THESE GUYS ARE THE BEST CARPETS CLEANERS IN TOWN!!!" & I absolutely agree! Victor Nichols is the owner of Nichols Carpet cleaning. Victor was very prompt in returning my phone call and provided a competitive quote over the phone, which most cleaning businesses do not. I utilized his services when a recent furniture delivery left oil and dirt tracks through my front entrance, up my stairs, through the hall and into my master bedroom. Needless to say I was very upset. Fortunately, Victor was able to help service my request the same day, giving me a 30-minute window of when his crew would show up. The truck showed up on time, his crew was professional, pre-soaking the stains and removing them. I was even more impressed when I requested that he clean an additional area, without charge. All the stains are out. Job well done. I will use Victor's service in the future. I highly recommend Nichols Carpet cleaning. Update: Carpet still looks good after a few days to dry out. I'm pleased with the results except for one stubborn stain that was not able to come completely out. I have used Nichols Carpet for many years. They are reliable and pay attention to detail. The post about not cleaning properly or opening windows is definitely the wrong business. I asked yelp to remove the other review and they said someone else had also asked the same. But they would not take it down. Victor always leaves the windows open. He always helps lift the furniture off the carpet. He always pre-treats the carpet for stains. He always goes over and over the carpet until the stains are gone. I highly recommend Nichols Carpet Cleaners. I've used them 3x for two different residences. I LOVE THEM!!!! They deep-cleaned my carpet when I had an old dog who would leave, ehem, "presents" on the floor for us, and they were not only able to come out the same day for an emergency visit with no extra charge, but more importantly, they got all the smell out! (I had a baby at the time, so having clean carpets was paramount!) When we were about to move, we called Nichols again because we decided not to change the carpet or kitchen floor tiles, which were all original in the house (over 10 years old). They cleaned it so well that my realtor was shocked and even the decorator who staged our house for Open House commented on how clean the carpet and tiles were! First off, this was my first experience with professional carpet cleaning. So, by my own Yelp rule, I cannot give a 5-star rating (reserved for the best ever, and with one sample, that doesn't work). That said, I am totally satisfied with the price, the cleanliness of my carpet, the speed with which the job was done, and everything else. So grateful I found these guys! We have 2 kids (4 and 20 months) and our carpets were horrible. Stains from food and outside dirt were making me very depressed. I found them based on a recommendation from my mothers club and decided to try them out. The carpets are back to being clean! I was so embarrassed when we moved our "L" shaped couch - you could see the outline of the couch clear as day. Not anymore! Highlights: 1.) They got pink paint out of our carpets! My daughter had spiled paint on the carpet a couple of months ago. I tried my best to get it out and thought it would never go away. The paint stains are gone! 2.) They brought my chair back to looking brand new. All the drool and food is now out of my accent chair for our living room. My husband and I spent a lot of money on that chair and I thought we would have to replace it for sure. Not anymore! 3.) The guys are super nice! I waited to write a review of Nichols Carpet Cleaning until I had used them more than once to be sure that they were as good as I remembered. Let me tell you, if you are in their service area, these are the guys to use! I love that it is owner operated so I am supporting small business, and that he (Victor) had a real stake in doing great work. He shows up on time and is very friendly. He and his partner work SO HARD and do a very thorough job. The method they use does not use a ton of soap that, if not rinsed thoroughly enough will attract more dirt nor pose a heath risk to my kids and pets. They were so respectful of my time and my house and really CARED about the results. Try getting that from a big francise company. The long and short of it is if you want your carpets cleaned well by someone who really cares, go with Nichols. Good customer service, easy scheduling, but not much difference to my carpet. I really wanted to have a great experience with Nichols carpet cleaning. They had very good reviews on yelp, and when I called their number I was immediately helped by a nice lady who was able to schedule my carpet cleaning on a very short notice., and give me a quote over the phone, which was great. The crew arrived on time, and got to work right away. I tried to make small talk and ask about their green cleaning but they didn't go in too much detail, they just wanted to get to work, which was fine. The reason why I would only give them 3 stars is because there was no dramatic difference on my carpet after they did the job. It was like I had steamed the carpet myself. It didn't look like professional carpet cleaning. My carpet was not too dirty to begin with but I expected to see some visible improvement after professional cleaning. I was moving in a new house and my landlord was going to take care of the carpet cleaning but his guys didn't clean at all although they said they did but anyways I needed a real carpet cleaning and I needed urgent so I found Nichols carpet cleaning via yelp and gave them a call. What a great company! This is the second time for us to use Nichols Carpet Cleaning and we are very happy with the results! They came highly recommended by a neighbor who has used them for years. The first time Victor (the owner) cleaned our entire house. This included all the carpet and travertine flooring. I got a discount for doing such a large job all on the same day. They cleaned all the linen colored grout joints and sealed our travertine in a matte finish just like we wanted. It looked new again. We just had Victor back last month to clean the carpets and they look fantastic. Our short berber carpet actually looks fluffy and new. Victor the owner is great. He does the work himself. After writing this review (8/9/10), simply stating the facts, Victor sent me a nasty email accusing me of slander. Of course, he's more interested in others discovering his bad business practices, rather than showing concern for a client. Not only has he damaged my property, now he's harassing me. ______ Damaged my home while cleaning and vehemently denied it! I do NOT trust this company & would NEVER use their service. Just BEWARE! Hopefully, you won't have a problem, but if they do break or damage something just know they will NOT admit it, or make amends! The owner (Victor) & another guy, who looks related, came out (8/6/10) to clean my carpets. I decided to try them out after a friend had referred them. As it turns out, I'd actually used them years before when my sister referred them (I must not have been impressed because I didn't call them back). I've been using another company that I've been pleased with, but thought I'd try someone closer so I took my friends recommendation. They came out & said it'd take 30 mins. because my carpets weren't very dirty to begin with. I wanted them cleaned for our baby. The cleaning ended up taking much longer, which I'm glad because I wasn't sure how they could clean all of the carpets in the entire house and stairs in 30 mins.??? Victor seemed very annoyed with being at my house to do the job. He kept complaining about everything and seemed very inconvenienced. He was on the phone while the other guy did the cleaning. I over looked his attitude thinking it must be one of those days. I even got his business card to give to my neighbor to whom I was referring their services to. I was definitely planning to use them again. I didn't have bad stains, so I knew I'd be happy with the cleaning (trusted my friends' recommendation) and I decided to overlook his bad attitude thinking, "everyone has a bad day." When they left, my husband, baby, and I left to allow the carpets to dry (not a good idea to let a baby crawl around on wet carpets with chemicals). Upon returning later in the evening I noticed the white baseboards were scratched up severely in several spots. The stairwell is white, with white baseboards and off white carpet, so the big gashes of brown shining through the once white paint was impossible to overlook. I was shocked! I had just had it painted before the baby was born and now it was ruined. It would have been IMPOSSIBLE not to notice and I'm so disappointed they didn't say anything at the time!!! I left a very polite message for Victor stating that I'm sure he didn't realize the damage at the time or he would have said something, and that it wasn't a big deal, but I just wanted to let him know. When he called back two days later, he was so rude, arrogant, and defensive. He said that he's been doing this for "X" amount of years and he uses corner guards to prevent this from happening, etc. I explained that he wasn't the one doing the cleaning, and it would have been impossible for him to hover over the other guy's shoulder on the stairs, and that it was not like that before. I invited him to come over with the cleaning tool he used and see for himself that they did in fact do the damage. I again told him it wasn't a big deal, I just wanted to let him know. I wasn't asking for any kind of refund or anything. He was so rude, arrogant, and defensive, just downright horrible! I couldn't believe it! I then told him about how I was raised in a family business and that his lack of customer service surprised me. How did he expect to get business, doing business that way? I asked him how he could handle situations so poorly and wondered how he thought my friends or I would trust in using his services in the future? He said, "I don't care if you use me again. Find another carpet cleaner!" I'm so appalled, shocked, and disappointed with Nichols Carpet Cleaning. Their overall lack of customer service, and their terrible attitude is ridiculous. Now that I think about it, while I was referring Nichols to my neighbor, Victor said they always end up breaking or damaging things (when they try to move furniture and so they don't do that). He kept saying how they break and damage things...kept repeating it. It makes me think it was his guilty conscience talking. Once they finished the stairs they wrapped up quick because he was aware of the damage. Of course, he couldn't get out of there fast enough. Overall, the cleaning was good (4days later spots are back), but it shouldn't be too much to ask to find a good cleaner who won't damage your home in the process of cleaning your carpets. Just know that if something goes wrong when you use them, they will NOT do a darn thing about it. *I could have stopped payment on the ck & I feel entitled to do so, but I've already had a taste of how Victor is & it just isn't worth it. I'm going to inform everyone of my experience with him and move on. read more

After years of using another carpet cleaning service...I had to try Nichols based on the reviews I have heard from others. I had them clean the carpets throughout the entire house. We have 2 young children and a dog so needless to say we had several stain spots. The spots disappeared for about 2 weeks and as of now...they have returned completely ( the smell never went away) As for the overall cleaning of our carpets I was quite disappointed. The carpets never really appeared much cleaner. So just for my two cents I would probably not recommend them. read more

These guys are the best carpet cleaners I've ever used! I have tried others, but no one gets them as clean as they do. We just bought a new house and the carpets were disgusting. My husband wanted to rip them out, but I said lets clean them and make them last for a year or two until we have some more time to decide what we want to replace them with. I called Nichols Carpet Cleaning to clean our carpet and several pieces of furniture in part because of their good reviews on Yelp. I did not see the negative comments placed a few days ago until I logged on to say how pleased I am with the service and quality of work done by Nichols Carpet Cleaning. The only thing I can say is that my experience was very positive, and in no way resembled the experience Jennifer D. described. They arrived at our home on time, and prepped my house for the cleaning by placing corner guards where appropriate in order to protect our molding and wood work (which is painted white), and moved the heavier pieces of furniture as needed. They even moved some of our decorative pieces (which I had not thought to move) in order to avoid possible breakage. Our carpet (a white Berber) was the worse for wear (2 dogs, 2 cats, 2 grand kids) and was in dire need of cleaning. Our carpet is now very clean...all spots removed, and looks and smells like new. .. no animal odors to be smelled. They also did an excellent job on our couch/loveseat sectional and two wing-back chairs; they now look like they did when we first brought them home. I found Victor and his coworker to be professional and pleasant to work with. The worked diligently and steadily to finish our job in a timely manner. My impression is that they take pride in the quality of their work, and that they were focused on being sure that we were happy with the results of their work. I set up my carpet cleaning appt via email, which was perfect for my busy work schedule. They were also able to provide me the quote with the information I provided. I called to confirm my appointment and provide details a few days prior to our scheduled cleaning, the lady on the phone was very helpful and friendly. On the day of the cleaning, Nichols arrived right on time, were professional, and quick. They cleaned all of our carpet (about 1500 sqft; master bedroom, 15 stairs/steps, living/dining room, 2 bedrooms, and an upstairs hall) in under an hour. I had already written a check by the time they completed the cleaning and come to find out, it was actually slightly less than the quote they provided. I am impressed with the honesty when they corrected me and let me know I needed to rewrite the check for a lesser amount. My overall experience with this company was fantastic and I have already recommended them to family and friends.
