I has been an outpatient of Dr. Nicholas T. Tran as a specialist for thyroid disease since 2012 so far. Under his medical treatment for my thyroid disease, my health has been improving very well. I know you're leading a highly competitive Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism office in California, so I'll get right to the point. I have never gone out of my way to write a Yelp review about any service provider because I am extremely busy with my work. But in this case, I must feel that I must. Regarding the front office: I highly recommend the front desk staff to enroll in an interpersonal skills class. The staff were very rude and unprofessional to myself and other patients in the office at the time. I have never seen such awful customer service in a professional office before and, quite frankly, do not understand how these people are deserving of jobs. Please do not let these people continue to represent your business even if they are your family member. If you lose patients or have trouble retaining them, the front office staff are the reason why. Funny how I am actually sitting right on front of the office writing my review. I can attest that every single comments on here is accurate. My mom had to wait for two months for the appointment. She has HMO, so pretty much all of her paperworks, insurance information, and authorization have been forwarded to the office before we showed up. We even brought another copy of our paperworks, lab-works, and authorization with us. The only thing my mom forgot was her insurance card. So the old receptionist lady (I believe her name is Kim...there was another receptionist but she was even more clueless than Kim) told my mom that they can't see her because without a copy of the card they won't be able to get paid by the insurance company. BS...a copy of the insurance card is just a proof along with the ID card. No insurance company asks for a copy of the card when you bill them, either with the CMS1500 form or on their billing website. She wanted to reschedule the appointment. I told her I don't want to reschedule the appointment. I showed her a copy of the card saved in my phone and I can email her the copy I have on my phone...she said the office doesn't have an email address. It's 2021 and the office doesn't have an email address. Plus she doesn't know how much copay to collect ...damn it...it listed on the copy I have on my phone. The most basic standard procedure for all doctor offices is to verify patient's eligibility, copay, and insurance benefits before the patients showed up to their appointment. I didn't want to make a big deal at that moment, so I drove to my dad's company to pick up the insurance card for her to make a copy. Ridiculous!!! Rude receptionist needs to be fired. Shes not friendly at all. The place isn't even busy. They wouldn't let me go home and print out the lab work and come back and wait to see him. I waited 2 months to see him. Now I have to make another appointment and wait till probably the end of the month to see him. She don't seem to want to work there. I took my daughter to Dr. Tran and he stopped her thyroid meds. In Jan. 2018, we had labs and her thyroid was so high that it threw the rest of her numbers out of control as well. Now she is back on thyroid meds again so everything should go back to normal. I have not ever posted a negative review to let anybody down except this time, because his receptionist did hurt the feeling of my family member. My family member is a patient of Dr Nicholas Tran, and he's a great doctor. We have no problem with him except his receptionist, Mrs K. Patients who are suffer from their illness and that is the reason why they visit medical office. In this case, Mrs K is so rude, she behaves as if she is the king at that office, and everyone including patients must obey her order in order to please her when they come there. She used to verbalize that if there are any conflicts or arguments between her and patients, the doctor will stand on her side, not patients side. This is the worse statement that I have ever heard. I think Mrs K is completely not suitable to work at the medical filed. I think this position should be for person who are nice, careful and passionate. Dr Tran is on his way to build his prestige while his receptionist, Mrs K, is destroying what he has builded. And obviously, destroying is always faster and easier than building. Dr. Tran is a great doctor. He spends his time with you and is very professional and nice. That is why I gave 3 stars and not zero stars because his main assistant(older Vietnamese lady, believe her name is Kim) is very rude. She got mad at me because I didn't know when my appointment was in December. When I went to the office to pick up the form I needed, she looked in the stack of papers to get it and didn't find it. She then started to look at the charts to see if it was there and someone else was helping her too. After a while of me standing there while they looked, Kim looked through the stack of orders again and she found it. If this office had computers to put all the information of its patients like all the other dr. offices do, their wouldn't be so mistakes made and it would be more useful to the staff and patients. I'm pretty sure this office doesn't have computers because the two old ladies that work there don't know how to use computers! The main rude lady definitely needs to be fired and Dr. Tran needs to get computers and new workers that know how to use computers and are nice. I can't believe how rude his assistant is to patient...she ask if i was married n i ask yes. Then she said why didnt u mark "x" here (pointing in the paper). After i put the x in the box, she said "u're grown why do u write so sloppy? " i feel that as long as you can read my writing it shouldn't be a problem.
