I was alarmed that this office wouldn't even do a cleaning because of this "gum disease" and referred me to a periodontist for a deep cleaning and scaling. The periodontist, Dr. Yeoung, said I not only needed a deep cleaning, but also bone grafting and possibly implants. Alarm bells went off in my head because I have been so diligent with my dental hygiene for years and never even have had any bleeding during a cleaning. Also, it was going to be thousands of dollars that I didn't have. (Delta Dental would pay $1,000). I was freaked out and called my Ojai dentist and made the drive for advice. My trusted hygienist told me there was NOTHING WRONG WITH MY GUMS. These two dentists are upselling procedures and obviously are working together to swindle vulnerable patients, (which is easy to do since we can't see very well inside our own mouths and trust them for their expertise). The next day I receive a call stating that I still have to pay the fee, but I had a $20 credit (which I did not know about) so I only owed $40. I stated that I would not be paying anything and that my dog is STILL in the hospital. She transferred me to her office manager and I explained the same thing. Life happens, and when there is an EMERGENCY the last thing you are thinking of is your dentist appointment. The office manager was rude, condescending and told me they are running a business. I offered my dogs medical records and she still would not budge. She also told me that because I missed an appointment in Dec 2024 I had a "history" of missing appointments. Then when I became upset she kept saying "wow, wow, wow" and then HUNG UP ON ME. I will never again do business with this practice. One question to Whiting... when were you going to share that you had $20 owed to me?

She was so patient with him too. Love this place!
