I haven't had the best luck with Ramen on Long Island. I'm a pretty big snob and a lot of it is really substandard. Ni Ramen wasn't o my list of places to try but we were nearby when the restaurant we were intending to go to was closed. We were pleasantly surprised by the lovely atmosphere and friendly excellent service. They recently began serving a Thai menu as well, which is actually what brought us in. I was very surprised at their menu, which had lots of different options...many items I wanted to try. I had the Tan Tan Ramen and was pleasantly surprised by the delicious broth, pork and egg. The noodle...it wasn't what I'd call a ramen noodle...it was a nice thin noodle...but missing everything tat makes a ramen noodle a ramen noodle. But...since the dish itself was delicious and the noodle was still good...I was very happy with the bowl. We also tried so Thai curry which was also very good. We definitely will be going back and I will be trying a different noodle to see how that works. They have many ramen options, from broths to noodle to proteins and you can add various items to customize your bowl however you like. For me the BROTH is going to sink or swim a ramen shop and their broth is delicious. read more

It was a rainy day after the snow and I wouldn't be able to look at myself in the morning if I didn't go grocery shopping. BUT what a terrible mistake it is to go grocery shopping on an empty stomach . A quick search for food brought us to "Ni Ramen" . I ordered from a purist Ramen snob perspective . Tonkatsu with Pork , black garlic oil , and chili paste. My posture relaxed and my tongue enlarged in a way only biological reactions happen. I was pretty surprised with how good the ramen was. I ordered the Tan tan ramen and asked for the black garlic oil along with the spicy paste. And wow, the flavor and creaminess of the broth paired perfectly with the bouncy / chewy noodles. For dessert we opted in to try north mango and matcha crepe cakes, this was splendid and wasn't too sweet, which paired perfectly with some green tea. Their apps was pretty good as well, the takoyaki and chicken karaafe were cooked to perfection. Next time I will be trying the or creamy pasta and their beef gyudon. Walked in with friends around 1pm on a Saturday. It wasn't crowded at the time and I can't understand why. On the top of the menu it said it was a soft opening, they must of just opened in the last few months. We started off with a few appetizers, gyoza, fried calamari and pork buns. The pork buns have to be quite honestly the best ones I have had. The bun itself was absolutely amazing and made perfectly. The Gyoza and calamari were also outstanding. Gyoza came out on a skillet and as soon as the waitress poured a little bit of water it added a nice sizzle. Very good presentation for everything. Their were four of us and each tried a different ramen. I felt like mine was the best lol. I got the Tan Tan ramen and the broth was so rich and so flavorful. I definitely will be back soon. Finally came to Ni Ramen for my birthday. It's a cute ramen shop with florals and tchotchkes on the walls. It has a nice variety on the menu without being overwhelming. We got several appetizers and all of them were really good. The presentation of the pork dumplings was enticing as they poured some broth over the sizzling plate. The veggie dumplings were just okay. Wouldn't get them again. My favorites were the takoyaki. It had a quality sized chunk of octopus in there and the chicken karaage. Nice and crispy and again not skimpy on the serving with a nice mayo dipping sauce. For entrees the tonkotsu was very good. Rich broth and a bounty of noodles. My one complaint about it is that, they l my give you half the soft boiled egg. That's really my favorite part. The chicken fried rice is also well done. Not greasy and had a lot of chicken. You can pass on the yuzu mocktail. It kind of just tastes like sprite. The service is quick and they don't hang around long so if you need to ask for anything make sure you catch them before they walk away but they did make sure our water was always filled. This newly-opened ramen spot is fantastic! I'm glad I decided to check it out. It doesn't look like your regular ramen bar because the decoration is so pretty just like in fairly tales. The place is so instagramable! I think I took tons of photos with their flower walls :) For the food, we (party of 4) tried Tonkotsu ramen, Shoyu Ramen, Spicy Miso Ramen and Tan Tan Ramen. All of them are so good. My personal faves are the Tonkotsu and Shoyu ones. We also tried Gyoza, pork buns and crunchy fries for appetizers. Love everthing! The service is nice too! Our glasses never reached half way. Our waitress also gave us good recommendations for what to order. The portions are so generous considering their inexpensive prices. I was so full. To sum up, this new ramen bar is worth a visit. I would be their regular if I live nearby (sadly, I don't!) I will definitely go back every time I'm in the area. read more

Glad I found this place on Yelp. I was starving after a doctors appointment and decided to try a new place with my twin. Parking wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, typically on the weekends parking over here is awful. We order a Pork bun, gyoza's, the veggie miso ramen and the tan tan ramen. Everything was delicious I highly recommend giving this place a try. Make it your next date night. 10/0 I would recommend. My sister informed me a new ramen place opened up nearby and I was excited to finally have ramen nearby. I can on a Friday afternoon but it already had a good amount of people there. Although it's fairly new, they have a good flow of people coming in and out by 6pm. I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen, chicken karaage and the Mango Mille Crepe Cake. Pros: the place has a nice decor and if you're a party of one they seat you at the window ( possibly to let ppl know you have no friends jk). Both the ramen and chicken came out hot but at the same time (unfortunately). The pork in the ramen was really tender and it came with a fulfilling amount of noodles. Cons: this is more of a preference but I didn't care for the large amount of green onions in the ramen. It definitely overpowered the already settled flavor if you ate too much at one time. The flavor of the broth is very subtle. I wished it a a bit stronger. I also recommended possibly not adding the garlic oil to the ramen. It didn't really add much flavor to the ramen and they charge an additional $2. Overall, I'd definitely come back especially because it's close and I no longer have to travel far for a solid ramen fix. I def want to try the pork buns and mochi ice cream next time. read more

I have been going to Ni Ramen for a few years now, and it is always my go-to ramen/Japanese tapas joint. Their chicken karaage is always my fave, served with a lemon wedge, shaved cabbage, and a delish mayo dipping sauce. Crispy on the outside and super juicy thigh meat on the inside. Great to share, or even as a dish with some rice. I usually get the Tonkotsu ramen with the black garlic oil because that is a tried and true goodie, but today I deviated from the norm and went for the Spicy Miso Ramen and added silky tofu to it. I am SOOO glad I tried that one bc that will be my new go-to ramen. Wonderful umami flavor in the broth and the spice hits you a little delayed, but def not too spicy to enjoy the flavor. Pork buns are always a good choice, but the fried tofu bun is just as delish. In general never been disappointed with their food or their service. Also, always busy but never really have to wait to be seated. All the perks without working to hard for it. If you're in the area, enjoy some ramen, then have some icecream next door. Ni Ramen is SO good. I went on a Saturday afternoon and if was fairly quiet. The inside of the restaurant is super pretty and floral. We ordered the calamari, pork buns, and gyoza for our appetizers. The calamari was kind of bland but the pork buns and gyoza were delicious. (Sidenote: the pork buns are sold individually). The miso ramen was very flavorful. I tried my favorite, the Tonkotsu Ramen (spicy). The reason why I love the Tonkotsu ramen is the broth. That creamy, rich, decadent pork broth that should have some depth to it. While theirs was not the worst I've had by far, it wasn't the best. The broth was a little light for my preference, but I could absolutely understand how some would appreciate it more than I did, because again, it wasn't bad. When my good friend told me that they opened up a ramen spot in her neighborhood, I was so ecstatic to try it. Happy to report that the reality lived up to my expectations. A small spot, you would probably walk past it in town without realizing, but once you make your way inside, the vibes and decor are phenomenal. Super friendly staff, got seating right away and got working on our order. They were very diligent with filling up our water glasses consistently, and the food was served with haste. This is an everyday spot for me now. I come here multiple times a week, bring different friends and family, and recommend it to anyone I know. The miso ramen is phenomenal, and my boyfriend loves the tan tan ramen. Green tea is the perfect thing to warm us up on a cold late-winter day.
