I've been wanting to try NFA burger since I kept hearing so many people rave about the original location in Dunwoody so I am beyond happy there's a location in Alpharetta now. I went opening weekend and the interior has a good amount of seating, and an expansive bar space. There is also limited outdoor seating. Both my husband and I got the classic burger as is and shared between fries and tots. The employee at the ordering stand was really nice and kept the long line moving efficiently. I also caught bits of other customer interactions with other staff and whom I believe was the manager/owner - everyone was so so sooo nice. The food came quickly after ordering. I enjoyed how the burger was cooked and seasoned but personally, I wish there were more veggies or an option to add lettuce and tomato to it. The mustard and pickles gave a good tartness to the overall burger. The size of the burger and quality is very reasonable given the price point. The fries and tots were both crispy and hot. We both preferred the fries slightly more because of the amount of seasoning on them. I would happily return here again to try other menu items. read more

Food was great! I got the 3 beef patty burger. Flavor sand textures were immaculate.Vibe were great. Servers were attentive.

The two times I've been here I ended up walking out because the line doesn't move. The lines haven't been too long but unlike, the gas station it doesn't move fast. Could be the staff or the customers who take forever to order. I'll stick with the Dunwoody location because they seem to have together there. read more

I waited this week til the lines simmered down.. being from California, now transplanted in ATL, I was wanting to check things out first hand. The service was good, very friendly staff still in training at cashier desk.. they eventually brought my food 15 min later while I was sitting down with another California transplant ( we always compare burgers to in & out) we both basically had the same thing: basic I meat burger, cold bun, cup of their signature sauce we both requested ketchup on side I had tater tots, he had fries both very tasty! There's no lettuce or tomato just pickles & spicy sauce .. it was 9$ and I gave 1$ tip. We were enjoying our food & server came by with another order of the same thing! If you know, you know and if you don't, then you absolutely need to. Billy Kramer brings NFA Burger to Avalon??!? This is a dream come true after years of driving to Dunwoody from Cumming to get this amazingly-simple smash burger that has set the standard for all other smash burgers in the ENTIRE world, coming straight out of a Chevron gas station. Now we get a Big Box version of this here in Alpharetta, and my friends it is 100% exactly what I was hoping it would be....it tastes exactly the same as the Dunwoody location. Exactly. Now you must understand one thing; Billy Kramer dipped out of a deal with Truist Park because he wanted his burgers to taste the same and they didn't because he wasn't the man behind the curtain pulling the strings anymore. That takes a lot of guts and shows a lot of integrity over something as basic as a hamburger, but this burger has actually been voted the best in Atlanta....years over. The care and commitment Mr. Kramer has to this newest venture shows. Now for the basics. It's a Day 1 review, so the space still needs work, but NFA is going to absolutely kill it. Located in the former Goldberg/Rinas space, there's a bar with a walk-up window great for the concerts on weekends, and for touring around Avalon with a cocktail in-hand. The bar will be something different since the other NFA is in a gas station. I'm excited to see this turn into something amazing, and look forward to its completion. In the mean time, the soft opening seemed to run smooth, and this place had a major line. Everything you want to see for a business owner who deserves this incredible level of success. It's Avalon, so parking is all over and it's located right on the square, so it's a great location to be in. I'll be here weekly, you can count on it. I have no doubt that this place is only going to get better and better and...it's already popular AF, and much-needed in the Avalon. Welcome and glad they are here. The burger is 100% on as were the fries and tots, the beef tallow gives an awesome taste and depth. No question we will be regulars, saves the drive down to Dunwoody. Would love to see a few very basic things, fry seasoning paks for the fries, ice machine and trash cans but these are not deal killers. But promise will be back even without it, but would be nice to have. read more

I've been a couple of times now and will definitely go back. I'm really glad they're in Alpharetta. The burgers are great. The fries are great. The service was great and friendly. It's definitely one of the best burgers in town, and the quality was consistent at each visit. Bonus: the chairs inside are comfortable, and the tables don't rock. The only critique I have about the burger is they didn't toast the buns when I was there, and the buns got soggy from this. I'd be curious what the burgers would be like if the buns were toasted, and I'd be surprised if it didn't make them even better. Aside from that, I will say that the seasoning on the burgers is definitely distinct. We liked it, but I would imagine it might not be for everyone. You'll just have to try it for yourself, though. Aside from that, I wish there was a fry option that was just salt and not their proprietary seasoning. It's good, but sometimes it seems like a little much especially when it seems like the same seasoning on the burger. I also wish there were fountain drinks where you could easily get a refill as a single can of soda isn't quite enough for me with the amount of seasoning on things. And when it gets crowded, the line backs up so it's not easy to even go purchase another drink right now. read more

The staff was not very welcoming or good at explaining the concept. The inside was roped off kinda making it seemed closed. All sodas are canned or bottled which is odd for a restaurant with servers. The whole concept and service is odd. read more

First visit ( after hearing about the original location for a very long time ). The burgers are over the top delicious and so different than anything I have ever had. The shakes are so fresh and actual fruit and not syrup ! And do not miss the tater tots ! The staff is so friendly and welcoming . A top 10 all-time burger! I had a double with no mustard, cheese, and grilled onions. The two tender patties had a crispy edge and came on a delicious, soft bun with a perfectly tangy sauce. So good! Don't ask for mayo. None in the store. But with the tasty sauce, you won't want it. My buddy said he'd pass on the fries next time as they were "eh". And I'd not have the chocolate shake again. The burger was so bland, it was over priced for a basic burger. I paid extra $4.25 for a waffle bun, which was recommended to me and it was so sugary, it was awful. I took it back and didn't even get my money back when I exchanged for a regular bun. The restaurant is nice and service was cool but burger was bad and not a lot of selection. I did like the seasoned fries more than anything else. The "sassy" sauce was basic too. read more

It may have just been pepper. I don't like hot! Some may like it. -Very, very greasy! -No lettuce or tomato option. -Very few other topping choices. MINUSES FOR FRIES: -Horrible! -Frozen, not fresh. -Poor quality, taste, seasoning and texture. -Expensive, especially given the above facts. $4.50 SERVICE: -Quick on a Thursday night at about 7:00 PM WILL I RETURN OR RECOMMEND? Food is just as amazing as the Dunwoody location in the gas station. I got two doubles and they remind me just like the original location tastes. And I can sit down inside instead of my car. I will say, the burger was amazing. One of the best that I have had. The fries were not good. Too thin, all crunch, and no filler. The staff was great. Very friendly and attentive. My critique is first with the ordering line. One person taking orders for lunch service is not nearly enough. Thankfully we got there early, but not so good for those that came after. The other critique is that I wanted a water. I had to go to the bar to get it and they provide you a tiny glass that you have to continually go back to the bar to have filled. My experience with the NFA Burger at the Avalon was disappointing; I do not believe it justifies the cost. The burger I received was a burned, smashed patty, which I did not enjoy. If that is your preference, you may like it. Otherwise, I recommend looking elsewhere. Furthermore, I found the owner's public reply to my original review to be extremely rude. I want to inform potential customers that if you leave a negative review, the owner reportedly identifies the reviewer via surveillance cameras, obtaining their name for a public, retaliatory post. read more

Ive been to the original location in Dunwoody, tried this place with my wife and daughter. You order as you walk in, self serve seating, and they bring you the food. Food options are the same from the Dunwoody spot, except they serve alcohol. There are large tvs playing sports. The food is solid. Everything is chill and casual, the way it should be. Recommend this place if youre in the area looking for a solid burger and fries. read more

Although our order was taken quickly at the bar we waited nearly 30 mins for 2 burgers a side a tots and fries. You prepay so we of course included tip which was kind of a mistake. While waiting we watched a young man walk around with an order calling out a name (not ours) going back and forth through out the restaurant both inside and out trying to find whomever the order belonged to he did this 3 times over ten minutes. After asking us our name and it didn't match the order he took it back to kitchen and then proceeded to turn around and come back out to say that this order was indeed ours he was calling the wrong name! Nope! We sent it back! Then our order came out 5 minutes later missing the tots and the fries which ended up being cold. The burger itself is a very salty patty on a cold bun. I did like the pickles! Also as an fyi they do not have tomatoes if you happen to like those on your burger. The price point is good for a burger joint and I do believe the kinks will get worked out with the service, but I think the saltiness of the burger will keep me from going back. read more
