Do no recommend using them for a tour. We booked a catamaran tour to Isla Mujeres. I asked the rep how many the catamaran held and he said around 40 people. There were at least 75 crammed on there with not enough seating for everyone. We stopped to snorkel at the reef and it was awful. They herded us like cattle across the water while snorkeling. Whistling and yelling at us to keep moving. Was not at all enjoyable. When we returned back to the port in Cancun my son got very sick. He is a diabetic and was having a problem with his insulin pump. We told the shuttle driver we need to hurry to get him back to our resort. He made us wait over 30 min to leave and wouldn't allow my son to sit in the front seat in case he got sick... which he did so had to puke in a bag in the back of the shuttle. In addition when we booked this tour the rep said it was about a 40 min drive from the resort. It took us over an hour to get there and almost 2 to get back. We would have never booked that tour had we known that. Was not a good experience read more

My bag got left behind in their transport vehicle and I reached out to them numerous times about my bag and they told me they couldn't find it. They are lying and stole my bag and didn't return it like the decent thing to do was. My mother in law called them and asked in Spanish as well and they were so rude to her and told her they didn't have a manager and wouldn't let her speak to any higher ups. This company is trash and steal peoples belongings! I tried to file a claim and no one has reached out to me either! I would give 0 of negative stars if I could!!! read more

I end up missing my sister's birthday dinner. I booked the shared ride because Im a single female traveling alone. I felt this company doesn't care about their guest. once they have your money they don't care about you. the drivers are nice they are just workers they don't make the rules. We asked the Nexus rep in our hotel for a later pick up. The next day, they showed up 90 minutes early. We asked them to come back at the requested time. They were not able to accommodate, so we were stuck without a ride. It was a big struggle. When we asked for a refund, they said no because we were a "no show". read more

This was a terrible experience. Our flight was on time and when we got out we waited for our private car which I had already paid for for 45 minutes. The two people working for Nexus told us that it will be at least 30 more minutes making it 75 minutes and they said they could not even guarantee that before our private transfer arrived to take us to our hotel. We had small children with us and it was 1030 at night. The men working for Nexus Told us we should get a cab and that they would give us a refund. They found us a cab and sent us to the hotel. The next day I asked Nexus for a refund just for the one-way that they screwed up on. They told me that I would not get a refund since I took another type of transportation. Did they want me to wait until midnight with two small children or is two hours acceptable to sit at the airport at 10:30 at night before being transferred for a private transfer I already paid. They have been very very difficult to work with. If you read other reviews you see that this type of situation happens a lot. read more

Of course, the impression depends on each individual employee of the company, but recently the work of the company itself has become terrible. I used this company for the last 6-7 years, the service was excellent. They always warned about the pickup time and changes in the schedule, this year the company didn't even try to contact me. For all this time, there was only one message from the company from the sales department - they tried to sell additional services. On the day of departure, we waited for the bus for an hour and a half near the bellboy; we came much earlier than peakup time. I called the company twice, in the end they didn't pick us up from the hotel, the driver supposedly didn't find us, although we were waiting right in front of the hotel entrance. We did not receive any support from the company's office; on the first call we were told that the driver might be late and we needed to wait. On the second call we were told that the bus was already at the hotel and had already left. I had to take a taxi and pay extra for our transfer. In response to my complaint, the company office told me that the driver was there and the company is not responsible for those who were late. I repeat once again, we waited at the entrance to the hotel for more than an hour and a half. On the piece of paper from the driver, where it is written that they could not find us, my first and last name are written with errors, so it is not clear who they could be looking for at the hotel. When ordering a transfer from this company, be prepared for the fact that you yourself will have to ask each approaching driver who they came for. read more

I purchased a round trip private transfer from Cancun Airport. Getting through Cancun Airport to get through customs and getting our luggage took almost 3 hours. I called Nexus and told them it was taking a really long time. They let me know they usually wait 2 hours (not listed on the website) but they would call the driver and tell them to wait. When we got outside, we had no ride. The staff were INCREDIBLY RUDE! Said they would not have told us that they were going to wait, basically it was our fault that it took 3 hours, and DID NOT CARE we had no ride and would not give a refund. We ended up having to pay $150 for a taxi to take us to our hotel. I'm only giving one star (wish I could give zero) because they did complete the 2nd half of our trip and taking us back to the airport. The driver was nice and but the car seemed to be on its last leg (lights on the dashboard all lit up but couldn't read as it was in Spanish). Just use another company. read more

From landing and checking in at the airport Nexus counter and waiting a hour for the private transport, to the company setting their own time for pick up for the transport back to the airport. I've literally been messaging and calling because I never set a 7:45am pick up for a 2:00pm flight... I had to purchase a whole other transport from Negril to MBJ then after finally talking to a representative he says nothing but you can send a email and hang up in my face. Hi friends. About 2 weeks ago I had to go to the airport with a transfer from the hotel by this company. An employee of this company saw that I came to the lobby and was waiting for a transfer. I arrived at the lobby early and waited at the door as it was very fresh and cool inside. An employee saw me and said that the transfer would be coming soon. It turns out that the driver came but did not see anyone, he just took it and left... The employee tried to resolve the issue and in the end... after 40 minutes I came to him myself, and he just offered me to take a taxi...). The result is a lost paid transfer and $ 50 extra for a taxi to the airport .... Friends, draw your own conclusions, but I don't think it's worth using the services of this company read more

Worst Customer Service experience ever! I have had multiple people hang up, get disconnected when transferred, multiple times. People hang up because I use a firm voice (not yelling mind you, nor vulgar) and people who supposedly speak English who cannot do the job because they don't understand English even if they speak it some. I have used them a handful of times over 11 years and this was the last time. They NEVER get the transportation right!!! What a disastrous operation these people run. Booked a highly overpriced private transfer from Kingston-Jamaica to Runaway Bay. Landed in Kingston and my transfer never showed. Called them about 7 or 8 times and they keep telling me they are locating transfer and they'd call me back. Needless to say I had to hire another taxi service. On my transfer back to Kingston, they had given the driver the wrong airport drop off. Instead of Kingston the driver was going to Montego Bay. Nexus claims they have their own vehicles but they subcontract locals to do their job. Their price is 50 percent more than the locals. They offered to refund me my entire service and they only sent me half. Traveling with kids this is an unnecessary headache. Beware of the bad service. read more

A quick google search will show you the real time conversion rate but they use their own system and over charged me close to $100. We booked a Mega Combo tour for six with Nexus Tours, out of Hotel Riu in Guanacaste. This involved two-hour round-trip group transportation, and a full day of activities at Buena Vista Del Rincon Eco Adventure Park. Cost of roughly $800. Unfortunately, on the bus ride to the park, our three children fell very sick so only two of our group were able to participate in any activities. The illnesses were no one's fault, and Buena Vista took good care of us. However, towards the end of our trip, our guide Melvin and the Buena Vista manager informed us that we would need to secure (and pay for) our own transportation back to the hotel, presumably for the health of the other group participants. In exchange, they agreed to refund half of our original costs. This seemed fair, and we all agreed. Unfortunately, since then Nexus Tours and the Buena Vista have all denied any agreement of a refund. I consider this a breach of contract at the very least, since we paid for round-trip transportation but were only taken one way and then left at a resort two hours from our hotel. This is very dishonest of them and disappointing for me. I don't see how anyone can trust their money and their family members to a tour company like this. read more

We booked (AND PAID FOR IN ADVANCE!!!!!) a shuttle van to take 8 women round trip from our resort to Playa Del Carmen and then from Playa Del Carmen back to the resort. We got there, did our excursion, and then the shuttle never picked us back up. 20 minutes after he was due to be there, we ended up having to pay $100 for a taxi back. They keep saying a representative will contact us back for a refund, after contacting them multiple times. It's been 2 weeks since we left Mexico and STILL have yet to even hear back from anyone or see a refund. They literally stranded us in another country after we already paid them for a service. Absolutely ridiculous. Don't use this company unless you want to waste your money and still have to pay for another form of transportation. read more

We booked Nexus for our transportation to and from the hotel we stayed at in Cancun several months in advance. When we arrived to the Cancun airport we were told that we had to wait 1-1.5 hours because supposedly the Nexus mobiles were in traffic caused by an accident at the entrance/exit of the airport. We were just so glad to finally be at our destination and knew the rep was just the messenger, so we waited without complaint toward him. The thing is many other transportation companies seemed to be coming and going just fine, so it easily may have been an excuse given to us for tardiness. They put us in a shared ride, but again we didn't complain because we were so tired and wanted to just get to our room to eat and rest. We paid for a private ride both ways. I spent the morning of the day before our departure from the hotel chatting with a Nexus rep to establish our pick up time as 11am instead of 12pm like they wanted to. They said we didn't need to be there that early, and I told them I understood but I didn't trust their service to pick us up or get us their in time. So alas they set a 11am pickup time. We started our wait outside of the lobby at 10:40am. When drivers arrived trying to pick up people I went up to several of them asking who they were picking up. None said either of our names. The ones I didn't ask is because I heard the names they called out. By then, however, even the hotel lobby employees knew we were there and waiting for an 11am pickup. Around 11:20am I started sounding the alarms for Nexus which told me their system showed we were a NO SHOW. I thanked the employees in the chats who were helping me because this isn't their fault. I was upset but not surprised. The hotel lobby employee asked if we hadn't heard from Nexus, and I told him I was going to see if they'd send another driver by noon so we could still make it to our flight. Nexus told us to order a taxi and keep the receipt in order to submit it to our "travel agency" to be reimbursed or to get our money back for the reserved transport back. Anyone reading this...please use something else for transport. There are tons more. A taxi felt more reliable honestly, but our friends used transport companies that gave them no issue. It's very much a first-world annoyance for our rides to and from resorts to not be on time or not show up, but it's one that can really put a damper on the experience. I hardly ever write reviews unless something went really bad or really good, and this one definitely was worth writing. Do Not Use NexusTours My experience with Nexus Tours was horrible. 13 of us scheduled a Nexus excursion at CoCo Bongo Cancun Beach Party for July 22, 2023 to celebrate a birthday. The Nexus representative Teresita asked us for our email addresses to send the tickets to but sent all the emails to one person (Keisha Massey) in the party which caused more confusion when we arrived to CoCo Bongo Beach Party. The Nexus representative Teresita at Planet Hollywood gave us all the wrong information. Teresita stated we would be going to the largest beach party in Cancun and the beach would have fireworks and we would be partying on the beach until 3 am, which was all the wrong information, the beach was closed. Teresita also told us it was open bar and would we get to drink everything on the menu and only had to pay for the food. That also was a lie, we were provided a list of maybe 5 drinks we could order from the open bar. Once we realized that everything she told was false information we immediately ask for a manager. The manager came an apologized but stated we needed to follow back up with our Nexus representative and cut the armbands they placed on us off. We were in the club 15 minutes max without any transportation back to Planet Hollywood resort. 13 adults stranded in another country is how we felt. I texted Teresita several times and she still hasn't responded. Edger from CoCo Bongo Beach stepped right in and got us transportation. I have called Nexus this morning and also emailed me. Nexus Tours is telling me to go back to the resort and speak the Nexus representative at the resort, how and I'm back in the USA. We all stopped by the Nexus representative desk yesterday before catching our flights and was provided a fraudulent email address to ask for a refund. This is the second year that my husband and I have booked with Nexus in Montego Bay. We scheduled a pickup ride for our flight home. NO ONE showed up. We ended up having to book a separate taxi ride home. One of the reasons that we book with you all is for that very reason. This is utterly unacceptable. read more

We arrived in Cancun well within the promised 60 minutes waiting time. The taxi ride had been fully paid for. But no, our taxi was not available because 'we were late' (which was not true). They then tried to talk us into paying cash for an alternative taxi, which we refused, but after 10 hours of flying, getting our suitcases and then having waited for another hour in which Nexus simply told us their car wouldn't arrive and we had to take another one, we caved and I paid by creditcard. It would be refunded by a Nexus agent at our resort. This was not true; they told us to reach out to Nexus. Nexus told us to ask our own travel agent. I contacted Nexus multiple times, so did our agent, but to no avail. We still have no refund (and it's almost 150 EUR) and Nexus simply refers back to our agent. Avoid booking Nexus and if you happen to get stuck with them, pay by card and keep all proof. I am currently trying to get my card insurer to solve the issue; Nexus is clearly not going to help. read more

My experience with Nexus Tours was horrible twice. We were scheduled to go to the mall and ended up on a Tequila Tasting at another resort JW Marriott on the strip. Then shuttled to another place with shopping and a restaurant. When we finally got to the mall we were beat and said take us back. 2nd excursion, 13 of us scheduled a Nexus excursion at Coco Bongo Cancun Beach Party for my birthday 7/22. The Rep Tetesita asked for our email address to send the tickets, but she decided to send them all to my email, which came in parts, it was never a full confirmation. I even checked in with her the morning of and said hey do we need anything, any suggestions, do we have seating, she said yes, they will tell you at the party, this lady with her smile said no go enjoy Happy Birthday. So of course, when we get there the confusion started with how she did the tickets in parts. So, once we get past that the owner comes over and says hey the beach already closed, the 2nd part doesn't open for another 45 minutes you can just chill in here. In here is a nightclub, we dressed in beach wear.... The owner of the club was very accommodating, then I showed him the videos and he said she needs to stop showing people that we haven't done that in years. Tetesita told us we were going to the largest Beach Party in Cancun, there would be a Neon Party or Circus themed, fireworks, performances, till 3 am, open bar, ALL INCORRECT. We could drink anything we wanted and food was nearby, INCORRECT on the drinks. Once we realized, there was no Beach, no reserved seating, no performances or fireworks and we were not dressed for the atmosphere we contacted the Nexus Rep. We were then escorted out, armbands removed. No transportation and our communications with the Rep were going but she was like well sorry you will have to wait till 2:15 a.m. We were only there 10-15 minutes.... Edgar at Coco Bongo stepped up got us transportation and got us back to PH. The Rep doesn't even respond. DO NOT USE NEXUS FOR NOTHING. They look legit in these resorts, but they are not representing anything well at all. 2 experiences both were horrible, Ruined 2 days on my trip. read more

DO NOT BOOK!! I booked Nexus for a private round trip airport transfer to Tulum for 6. When we arrived at the airport in Cancun, we had to wait for over 30 minutes for our driver to get there. When leaving Tulum, we were supposed to be picked up at 6:20a on Saturday 7/8. Nexus sent an email at 2:20a on Sat (while everyone was asleep) saying they were cancelling our transport back to the airport. When we saw this, we had to scramble to find last minute transportation for 6, which ended up costing $100usd more than what we paid Nexus. Nexus originally sent an email saying they would refund us for the ride they did not provide as well as for the last minute ride we had to find. Now, they want to back track and only want to send a refund for the new ride (and keep the money we paid them). They do terrible business. DO NOT BOOK read more

We booked our Xelha park tour through Nexus. Had issues at the park where I was bitten by a dolphin. The park took me to first aid where it was cleaned etc. The park guide said that the park was going to refund our tickets and give us our dolphin pictures for free. Yet when we inquired about it at the hotel NOBODY seemed to know anything about it. Once it was all said and done all they did was give us a voucher credit for the park and we have to use it within a year. Needless to say I will NEVER book another excursion through Nexus... A day before our excursion I get a call from Nexus that the park Xenotes Live is over booked after I booked this excursion 5 days ago to meet other family in the park. Either inept or outright dishonest. Booked a round trip airport transfer from San Jose Costa Rica to our downtown hotel. Arrived at the airport and not shuttle. Called and they had not sent a shuttle, so we waited an hour. Annoying, but mistakes happen. The real problem was when we called to confirm our return shuttle, they told us someone had already called them and used our return shuttle. They refused to do anything for us. I called our Chase points office, who we booked the transfer through. They followed up with Nexus, who refused to do anything. Either they messed up the booking and should correct it, or they are outright cheating us. In either case, DO NOT USE NEXUS TOURS. read more

We used these guys for several trips 1sr to chichen itza they were 1/2 hour late , forgot to schedule transportation for us back to royalton hideaway , tried to make us squeeze in back seat , van/firewheel! And one of us up front in middle , not a real seat at all ! Luckily a couple young people volunteered to sit in those places! Van was full ! 2nd trip 1/2 hour late ! 3rd trip late then we missed our boat and was shuttled out by another boat , to meet out sunset cruise! So our cruise was cut in half !! We could not reschedule because we were leaving the next day . Seriously we will never use this tour service again !!the. Ya had no toilet paper !! Dirty bathroom !! No water in sink to wash up ! I normally don't leave reviews for companies however I thought my life was about to end. I had the worst experience ever from a Nexus shuttle driver. Apparently customer service and speed limit isn't in his vocabulary. It was 5am my flight didn't leave until 8:30am, the driver knew my flight itinerary. He wakes up from sleeping with his head on the steering wheel, jumps out the van throw my suitcase in the back and tells me to get in. Didn't introduce himself or open the door to the van.He ran over every speed bump fast when we were leaving the resort. He was driving so erratically and fast I had to put on my seatbelt and hold on to the handle in the van. He would speed u, get on the tail of other vehicles and flash his lights until they got out of his way. He didn't care that he had a passenger in the van with him. It was very dark outside and he was driving up and down ramps very fast, it was so much jerking my neck is still hurting two days later. Seems he got lost at the airport and didn't know where to drop me off. He finally found somewhere to drop me off and again jumps out the van put my suitcase on the ground and drove off. For a person who has traveled all over the country this was the worst experience I've ever experienced. I feel this man has traumatized me I actually thought I was about to die in a shuttle van in Mexico! read more

I recently traveled with a group for the last week of December. We arrived in three groups. I was a part of the first group that arrived. The Nexus team was super easy to spot with their orange shirts and signage but the hiccups began quickly. My name was no where to be found on their list of reservations despite my arrival date having been corrected and confirmed prior to our departure. Luckily I had all of my travel documents handy and was able to show the attendant the information. They assured me they'd get it figured out but needed to take a photo to send to their boss to get the okay to transport me. In total, it took about 30-40 mins before we were able to be on the road from CUN. Once we arrived to the hotel and I asked the driver if they were able to confirm our pick up time for an excursion the next day, I learned they were not actually working for the company, they had been given the one transport. About 2 hours later two more of us arrived. They did have all of their information but were stuck waiting on transportation from the airport for about an hour. The following day two more of us arrived much to all our surprise, when they arrived they were told there was NO ONE AVAILABLE to transport them to the resort. The employees working very very apologetic and were diligent about helping find them a taxi. After close to 2 hours, the nexus employee found a taxi from a completely different company that would drop them off but instructed them they would need to call nexus and complain for a refund. They were then escorted to an ATM to withdraw $100 before the taxi would even let them in the car to ensure they would be paid. Our day of departure our driver was on time. We were in a large sprinter like vehicle with a total of 10 people. Once we arrived to the airport the driver did not help us remove any bags from his trunk. The seats were somewhat elevated and so the bottom portion of the vehicle is where the bags went. Some of the bags had been places or shifts to the forward part of the vehicle and when we asked about them he simply gestured for us to get them. Because I was the smallest person at 5'2", I physically CLIMBED IN THE TRUNK BED to pull our luggage forward and take it out. We also booked an all day tour to Chichen Itza. We were given a pick up time of 7:45 am. When we arrived at 7:45 am there was no one there to pick us up. After about 10 mins I messaged Nexus via their web app to inquire as to what was going on. I was then told the driver left because we were considered a "no-show" and they had left a note with the bell boy to record them leaving. So I walked over to their station and asked to if they had notified they were leaving. Initially the person I asked was very confused but looked through the notes and found a slip for 7:40 am recording us a no shows. At that point I requested a full refund given the situation but they refused and simply said they'd reschedule the tour. We soon discovered Nexus was not providing the tour and had confirmed the WRONG time. After rearranging our entire trip itinerary, I did ask my TA to see about rescheduling the tour and despite me having told the rep we would not be rescheduling given our itinerary, we learned they had done so for the next day on their own!!! Nexus is just a mess and I would not recommend to anyone. read more

Our trip was totally misrepresented by Luis at the Sandos resort. We wanted a day of snorkeling, paddle boarding and more snorkeling. What we got was about 20 minutes of snorkeling and a ride to Woman Island, only to be bombarded by tequila sellers. What a crappy day. No way would I recommend these folks or Cancun Adventures who provided the boat. read more

Coronado, a Nexus employee, treated us horrifically. We pre-booked and pre-paid for a shared van transfer from Cancun airport to the Royalton Riviera Hotel. On January 7th, we left the airport on a bus 1.5 hours after checking in with Coronado and standing where he requested. Multiple other shared van passengers arrived after us, checked in with Coronado, and he subsequently walked them over to their shared vans before us. After we followed up with him the second time, he pointed his finger towards the bus parking lot and said: "Go there to Bus 133. They are waiting on you." After we pointed out that he had twice told us that we would be travelling by van, he told us that, "a bus is a shared transport" (basically exploiting the vulnerable position we were in as tourists in a strange country). We then went unescorted to Bus 133 and the driver refused to drive us, saying, "Coronado es loco". After the intervention of another Nexus employee and a Sunwing employee, we were finally taken to Bus 131, who graciously added the Royalton Riviera to his itinerary. He had no idea who we were, of course, so I had to flash my passport at the hotel gate so he could drive in. Not sure if Coronado is racist as all the other passengers he personally escorted to shared transport vans were white and we are visibly not. Unbelievably awful first impression of Cancun. read more
