It was huge, air conditioned, included lunch, beer, drinks and even breakfast. Our tour guide spoke perfect English and was great. They even had another guide who did the tour in Spanish. We loved our guide Fabian! He made us laugh and was very knowledgeable about the Mayan culture. We went to Chichén Itzá and also had another stop at a ancient Cenote. I highly recommend Xcaret for their tours!

First, we did the Chichen Itza experience, which brought you to a Mayan Village, a sink hole you can swim in and then to Chichen Itza to do a tour of the pyramids and such. Chichen Itza is about 2 1/2 hours from Cancun and it's nothing short of amazing! Our tour guide was funny and SUPER knowledgeable and it was an incredible experience. It's tough getting up that early in the morning but it's worth it...and every penny we paid to do this. The next thing we did was the Xcaret Park. This place is COOL! They have a bird area that's huge and you can get up close to the birds. They also have a butterfly area with the most beautiful butterflies that fly all around you. So cool! We also did the underground river, which allows you to swim in...well, an underground river. It was tons of fun. There's also a little beach area with sand and hammocks so you can relax and listen to the waves crash. They thought of everything at this place. It's really amazing and I highly recommend it. I'm not sure why this company has poor reviews...their prices are reasonable and the tours are awesome!

Our group of 8 friends booked the excursion with the cenote and sea turtle snorkeling recently…read more Booking was easy through Viator, a bit pricey but worth the experience. We were picked up from our resort right at 7 am and then we made our way to the Cancun Adventures office to wait for two other couples from other resorts. This ended up taking quite a bit of time, but thankfully there is a coffee shop next door where we got some caffeine and a snack. They did offer us cold bottled water and bananas on the bus (I would bring extra snacks because by the time we finished at the cenote I was starving and had to pay $6 for a small bag of chips at the cenote). The bus was pretty crowded with 12 people, and driving back into the jungle to the cenote was VERY bumpy. Be sure to take some dramamine if you get car sick! Omar was our guide and he was amazing. He told us about the area of Mexico we were in, and talked about the cenotes and what we could expect at each stop. Once we got to the cenote, we were offered a Mayan blessing, showered off, and headed into the cenote. They do not allow any photos or devices in the cenote. (They provide a locker for your stuff.) Once you get into the cenote they take your photos, which was kitschy and VERY expensive ($50 for one photo), but I get it's part of the tour. I absolutely loved the cenote experience itself - it was so cool to learn about and Omar's background in biology made it very informative. This part was about an hour, then you could shop a bit (they are pretty pushy but you can politely decline). Then we headed on to the snorkeling portion. I personally don't really love snorkeling, but it was fun to see the turtles! We saw about 4 or 5, but it was a bit chaotic with other groups everywhere. Then we headed to the beach club for lunch. This private beach was peaceful and the food was delicious. I personally loved the beef burrito. Mix the hibiscus and lemonade half and half for a tasty beverage. There are some areas to relax and changing rooms, so bring dry clothes to change into if you want. Pack a towel! Overall the tour took much longer than I was expecting, so be sure to plan for that if you have a dinner reservation or other evening plans. But I loved the experience and Omar was awesome.

Along the way, we stopped at the underwater museum, where we snorkeled up to some of the artwork, and took in the sights of bright, vibrant coral reefs and amazing fish. On board, they served up sandwiches, and sweets, and snacks. The staff was super friendly, and got through the drunk as touristas as fast as possible. They provided all the equipment needed for snorkeling. There were more people on board than expected. I'd say maybe 65 people on board each catamaran. It wasn't exactly a private tour.

We walked past it daily and visited almost frequently! Featuring fun travel locations by Xcaret, it is conveniently located in the "hotel zone" of Cancun, Quintana Roo. We received great service by Sergio Manyolejo and Karen (who's last name I didn't get). We went on several great trips during our stay in Cancun, which included: Xcaret Plus, Sea Trek Encuentro Con mayas Xcaret, TiBurones Aventura Interactiva Xcaret, and Cena Gran TLaChao Xcaret. Each trip deserves a review of it's own. So I'll just say here, that this is THE place to schedule your tours. We got personal service from beginning to end. They made all the planning arrangements to pick us up from our hotel, transportation to our chosen theme parks, complete with guides & maps, and of course getting us back safely to our hotel again. Each adventure is not cheap, but it is money well spent. After all, it's a vacation! We deserve to splurge sometime! The most memorable parts of our vacation was made possible by Excursion Travel! Don't leave your hotel without them!

When finding an excursion for Cancun is really difficult. There's so much to do so little time…read more After a couple of days of looking, my Mr found this one from Amigo tours. We booked it on trip advisory. Plus you have to pay Mexican tax, so that's separate from the purchase you made online. It's a two hour drive so make sure you pack alot of water, sunscreen, towels, extra clothes. Please make sure you pay attention to the guides and what they have to say. There are rules. Each destination has a time limit. One more thing, they do pick you up at your hotel depending where you are staying. You go to three places. Here is the itinerary: -Valladolid, a colonial town in the Yucatan Peninsula (1 hour behind) -Sacred Cenote - refreshing, enchanting underground sinkhole, sacred to the Mayan people. -Lunch at Cenote grounds (Restaurant-Buffet style. -Tequila Tasting (Chichikan Tequila) ONLY found at this location. -Chichén Itzá, a UNESCO landmark and an important relic of the Mayan civilization. One of the seven wonders of the world. My favorite was swimming at the Cenote. You are required to purchased a life jacket separately and it's required. You have to shower before you go in. They want to keep the water clean so no sunscreen. Third was the ruins. I absolutely love the history behind it. I forgot about the tequila tasting. It was short but the tequila was so good. They only make it for Chichikan, no other place. I wish we could've had more time at the colonial town of Valladolid. I would've liked to explore more. What a great experience and my Mr and I had a blast. Hats off to Romeo, Juan and Hugo. They were amazing guides. They looked out for us and made sure we were okay. I would highly recommend this trip! It's worth it!

Their vehicle broke down, which I was patient and understanding about. I waited over an hour for pickup, even rearranging my evening plans to accommodate the delay. Despite this, communication was awful -- I asked multiple times for an update and got no clear response. When they finally arrived, they didn't bother to call or text me to say they were outside. Instead, they left without me, after I had been waiting in the hotel lobby the entire time. This was a complete waste of my time and money. I didn't receive the service I paid for, and the poor communication and lack of basic customer service made the situation even worse. Amigo Tours needs to take accountability for how poorly this was handled.
