Tulum, Snorkel with Turtles & Cenote Excursion During our trip to Cancun in July, We booked the Tulum, Snorkel with Turtles, and Cenote tour through our hotel with Cancun Adventures, and it was such an unforgettable experience! We were picked up early at 6:45 AM and joined a group of about 15 people. Honestly, our group was amazing , everyone got along so well that it felt like we were traveling with friends. Having great people and great guides really makes a difference on excursions like this. Our tour guides, Juan and Rene, were phenomenal! Juan, especially, stood out as one of the best tour guides I've ever had. He was super knowledgeable, funny, personable, and kept the energy high throughout the day. He managed the schedule well and could read the room, moving us along when he sensed we were ready, without making us feel rushed. First Stop: Tulum We visited the archaeological site and learned about Mayan culture while exploring the ancient ruins. It was fascinating and beautiful. Juan explained the history clearly and made it engaging. Afterward, we had time for some tequila tasting and shopping. Second Stop: Cenote The cenote was absolutely stunning -- clear blue water, cool caves, and even bats flying around. Juan shared the cultural and natural history of the cenote before we took a dip. Everyone must rinse off before entering and wear a life jacket, which keeps the environment clean and safe. A heads-up: you cannot bring your phone or GoPro, even with a waterproof case. They have staff photographers, but the photos are very expensive , $100 for the full set, or $50 for just a few individual shots. Some photos were blurry and unedited, so the price didn't feel justified. If pictures are important to you, keep this in mind before booking. Third Stop: Snorkeling with Sea Turtles This was the highlight for me! A small boat took us out into the ocean, where we jumped in and followed our guides to search for sea turtles. I saw several, and it was so cool to be that close in their natural habitat. You're not allowed to touch the turtles, you have to swim above them (to avoid contact with marine life), and the guides did a great job keeping things respectful and safe. Bring a waterproof phone case if you want to try to grab any personal footage while on the boat! Final Stop: Beach Club Lunch After all the activity, we had lunch at their beach club. The food was delicious, I had the chicken tacos and loved them. They also gave us Amaranth bars (which tasted like chocolate Rice Krispies) and Mexican coffee, both were surprisingly tasty treats to end the trip. Tips Before You Go: -Bring a change of clothes, towel, and extra snacks (they provide water and breakfast bars in the van, but more never hurts). -Pack sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, and a waterproof phone case. -The van rides can be a bit long and the vans are small, so if you're tall or have long legs -- brace yourself. -Bring a portable charger and maybe a book for the longer stretches between stops -Double-check what's included -- some packages include breakfast or lunch, others don't. -Don't feel pressured to buy souvenirs unless you truly want them. Overall: This was an awesome, well-organized, and fun-filled adventure. The mix of culture, nature, and ocean fun made it a perfect day trip. I would absolutely book with Cancun Adventures again. If you get Juan as your guide, you're in for a great time!

We went on a company day trip with Cancun Adventures and had a catamaran trip out for snorkeling. The ride was smooth and when we dropped anchor at the sandbar, it was so nice to have a light lunch, drinks, and lounge in the sun. Those who wanted to could swim or go snorkeling. We even saw some sea turtles from the boat! The staff was friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed this excursion.

We did the Magical Cenote and Rainbow Lagoon Adventure. Lucas and Jerry were the absolute best guides/driver duo! Their enthusiasm, friendliness, and knowledge of the cenote and lagoon made the day go by so quickly and smoothly (no injuries or sacrifices lol). This adventure is perfect for anyone who just wants to have a good time while trying out snorkeling for the first time. Would highly recommend this adventure for any one of any age!

Santiago was our guide for the Cenote and turtle tour with lunch. He was funny, fun, knowledgeable, and did a great job of keeping our group together. He made sure we knew everything that was coming up, gave us instructions in the van so we didn't waste time at the location, and managed expectations well. We saw three turtles on our tour (one swam right next to me) and some bats in the cenote. They clearly have their system down because they were efficient. We plan on using this company again the next time we're in town, which is often.

We took a day trip from Playa Del Carmen to Chichén Itzá with a stop in Valladolid for lunch. Felix was a great guide. He is really funny and knowledgeable. He and the driver took great care of us. We would definitely enjoy taking another excursion with them next time we are in the area.

The stop we made after the ruins, we had authentic, fresh food and tequila shots with the options to buy some if we like.

Amazing experience. I went back in January for my bday. I was picked up from my hotel and transferred over to another bus. The whole time, our guides were very informative and friendly. When we got there. Cold drinks and towels were passed out and we were shown around, getting brief history and geographical information. After being shown around, we were able to roam around some more before leaving to our next stop. It was a small local/beautiful town where we were served food and drinks. The tequila I tasted was so good and sweet, I ended up purchasing a bottle. We walked around at a nearest park before bussing it back to Cancun. This was my second time with Adventures (first time was in Puerto Vallarta) and I both time, I had a great time. Looking for a third adventures with this company.

We had five people in our group. Me, hubs, two adult boys and one gf. We booked the Tulum Yalku Plus and were not disappointed! The ruins and their history were cool, the cenote was beautiful and the snorkeling at the inlet was our family favorite! Soooo many beautiful fish! Mateo was our driver. He was prompt, friendly and professional. Chang was our guide and was so friendly and personable! He did a good job keeping track of all 11 of us and was full of interesting information. We would do this tour again and will definitely use Cancun Adventures again!

I went on a tour through Carnival with Cancun adventures. It was a tour that went to the Turtle Sanctuary, a Cenote and a beach club with lunch. Our guide, Jessica, was amazing. I will say overall, the tour was awesome. I did not love the turtle portion because it was overcrowded and they required everyone to wear life jackets in very shallow water. People kicked up sand and blocked others from seeing the turtles when there were any. I wouldn't do that again. The cenote was the absolute best part of the tour. It was beautiful. We got lucky to arrive when a bunch of people were leaving so only our group was there. I do think it's stupid you cannot bring cameras or GoPros, mainly because they want you to buy their photos. They took horrible photos that I had to edit afterwards, but they also sent a bunch of photos of the cenote as well. The last part was about an hour at the beach club with 5 choices to choose for lunch. I went for the shrimp ceviche. It was exceptional and the margaritas were delicious! The beach was gorgeous but not enough chairs for everyone. Again, overall, great. Jessica was amazing.

We did a sail to isla mujeres with snorkeling (boat 8), and the staff was amazing!!! They made my first experience snorkeling so awesome I highly recommend! The guide gave us so many tips for what to expect and what to pay when we got off the boat to explore the city. They let us go and then took great care picking us back up.

Carnival dream

Went on the cenote tour and the swimming with sea turtles excursions through carnival cruise and while those were both fine, the ride on the van was unacceptable. We probably spent 2 hours driving over crappy Mexican roads. Out tour guide (who was obnoxious) jokingly referred to it as a Mayan massage, but it mostly just hurt in the cramped van with broken ac. Part of the tour is driving and extra 30-40 minutes back to their restaurant on the beach (where you can't get in the water) but this unesscary and wasteful stop prevented me from visiting Cozumel during my stay. Just book with another company or go to a resort in Cozumel.

This was a great service and perfect way to spend an entire day. We opted for the adults 4 1/2 hour excursion which began with a shuttle picking us up from the hotel zone. Once we arrived there was a little gift shop and bakery on site. Our guide for the day was Antonio, who did a great job leading the group and narrating the history and key sites of the area. The initial ride is short to the first snorkeling spot, where we saw dozens of different fish species, some underwater statues, and even a sea turtle! You have to be at least an average swimmer since the snorkeling is not congregated in one area, but rather you jump off the boat and swim for around 25-30 minutes until the boat picks you up further down the water. for those not up to snorkeling there were snacks and unlimited bar drinks. After the first snorkel the boat headed closer to the island and the crew provided sandwiches (you have your choice between turkey, chicken, ham, or vegetarian). We had one more opportunity to swim before making it to the island. You get around 2 hours to explore the island so I recommend researching the day before what you'd like to do. We opted to walk around the shops and do a little swimming before grabbing lunch at the black pearl. Overall it was a great day and amazing service by our captain, crew, and guide Antonio! For those who are worried about sea sickness- I am usually prone to sea sickness but had no issues since it was shorter stints of boat travel, smooth water, and fresh open air!

Cenote and swimming with turtles in Akumal was amazing! Our guide was "Ro" (short for Rodrigo). He seemed like he really enjoyed educating us about caves, turtles, Mexico in general and the importance of preserving wildlife and respecting nature. He was interacting with us the whole ride to the excursions, and he was pretty funny too. 100% recommend!

We attended the luxury sailing and snorkeling experience with Cancun Adventures. Our driver was very punctual for pick up at our resort and only had one other resort pick up five minutes away. The drive to Puerto Adventuros was short and our driver let us connect to bluetooth within the car to help time go by faster. When arriving to the marina, the check in process for our specific excursion was easy and organized. We were directed to the boat, told the itinerary of the excursion, and how we would find our driver after. Once on the boat, we had wished the crew was more organized with getting our group prepared for our sailing departure as the ride to the snorkel site was 45 minutes and we were left standing to the side. Once at the snorkel site, we had all gear given to us, went in the water and were directed to areas for prime viewing. All excursions will tell one they will see a lot of sea life but it is always dependent on the day. We saw some fish and coral reef but between salt water in your breathing spout and goggles fogging up. They did, however, do a great job of leading the group in the water and ensuring we were all safe. When back on the boat, we enjoyed a small lunch, drinks, laying out, or additional water activities (paddle boarding or floating around). Our sail back was amazing as we sat up top by the sails. We liked the experience overall outside of some small details. Tip: put sunscreen on before you get to boat as application right before snorkeling is not allowed to protect the coral reef. Tip: let crew know any allergies at beginning of sail so they can accommodate. Tip: our excursion was listed as 4 hours plus travel time and we were gone for a total of 7 hours. Plan for this ahead of time!

Thankfully it was only about 20 minutes from our hotel so it didn't take half a day just to get there. In total the whole experience was under four hours. There were 4 other people in our group we didn't know, staying in hotels much farther away. Lots of waiting around when you get there. There are free lockers to store your things and clean restroom and changing facilities. If you have an underwater camera pouch, bring it. It's the only way you're allowed to have a phone on the ATVs (around your neck) and you can use it both above and under water at the cenote. It was our first time doing ATV's and didn't know what to expect. I had no interest in driving one myself so I decided to ride as a passenger with my bf. This was the worst decision EVER! Granted I am a small person and struggled to get both of my feet firmly planted, so I basically held onto the back handlebars for dear life while I was thrown around like a ragdoll. My back was literally bruised from hitting the seat with the abrupt motions. I felt like I had whiplash and at one point the plastic shield on my helmet came off because my head crashed into my bf's helmet. We would have enjoyed it more if the speed was higher and more in the jungle but you're basically on a narrow trail with lots of bumps and bottoming out constantly. The ride was advertised as 45 minutes but was less than 40. I did like how there's a guide with you the entire time both at the front of the pack and back. On the flip side, it also made it so that you couldn't necessarily go the speed that you wanted. After that harrowing experience we were offered a buffet lunch (nothing special but nice that it was free) and then taken to the nearby cenote. That was really the highlight of the experience. You do have to rinse off all of your sunscreen (even those that are reef safe) in a cold shower before you enter... not sure how effective this was because most people did a half assed job. I liked that you were provided a life jacket so you could also just float without having to worry about supporting yourself. The guide was very knowledgeable. And the water was very clear. I've been to caves before but none that were under water. Very cool! Be prepared for many money grabs, but that's Mexico. We were basically bullied into buying the additional insurance, felt like a huge scam. But ultimately it was $25 for the two of us and because of the manmade holes on the course I can see how an ATV can get damaged even if you drive responsibly. We thought they would be jerks at the end about every little scratch but there was barely an inspection. They also take many pictures of you throughout the experience which you are not obligated to buy. We even declined being photographed in the first place. If you have your camera pouch you can take pictures of yourself everywhere you go.

Rio Secreto was an amazing experience!…read more I went to Cancun for a girls' trip, and honestly, I was very nervous because I didn't know what to expect. I tend to get anxious about new experiences, but I always try to push myself--knowing I'll be happy I did afterward. When you arrive, check-in takes place in a hidden, lush area with benches. A short video plays so you can get an idea of what Rio Secreto is all about. After that, you check in, sign your waivers, and meet your guide for the day. We totally lucked out--our guide, George, was incredible! The guide makes all the difference. George was full of life, personality, and knowledge. He truly immersed us in the caves and shared so much about Mayan culture. I can't say enough nice things about him! Your guide then takes you by van to the Rio Secreto caves, about a 15-minute drive on an unpaved, natural, and bumpy road. I don't get carsick, but if you're prone to it, you may want to take something beforehand. The ride itself is scenic and surrounded by lush greenery. Once you arrive, you'll find lockers, showers, bathrooms, and seating areas. Be prepared to remove all jewelry, as it's not allowed in the caves--the water must remain pure. You'll take a quick shower before putting on your wetsuit and water shoes (they provide them, or you can bring your own). You'll also wear a helmet with a light. The facility is extremely clean and well-maintained. I was genuinely impressed by how often they sanitized the equipment, floors, and bathrooms. Once you're geared up, you take about a 10-minute walk to the caves. Before entering, you'll participate in a beautiful Mayan ceremony meant to cleanse your spirit--and take a quick group photo. Important tip: You cannot bring your cell phone! Let it go and just enjoy the moment. A photographer will take pictures throughout the tour, and trust me, it's worth it. Walking and swimming through the caves while listening to George share stories about the Mayans, the legends, and the discovery of Rio Secreto was truly magical. The water is cool at first, but you get used to it quickly. Floating through the crystal-clear water surrounded by stunning cave formations took my breath away. After the tour, you're treated to a delicious meal--including handmade tortillas! An amazing day and an unforgettable experience. Highly recommend Rio Secreto!
