TL;DR Amazing trip, especially for families! If you're on the fence, book it! We had a fantastic time on the "Mayan Adventure" tour. We had a group of 8 with 4 kids (ages 5-10). Our pick up was right on time. Transport van was comfortable with excellent AC. Our guide, Jose, was absolutely incredible! We were with him the entire time (pick up, all legs of tour, & drop off). He was knowledgeable, funny, learned all our names instantly (even the kids), and was continuously checking in with us. We loved the zip line, cliff jumping, and cave. The cenote is smaller than we expected, but was a good size for the kids to snorkel in for their first time. The cave was so beautiful! It can feel slightly tight with other passing groups, but most of the time, that was not an issue. The inlet was beautiful! You get new snorkel gear and life vests at each stop, so you don't have to carry it around. Lots of beautiful fish, crabs, and iguanas to view while snorkeling. The guide will tell you when to put your biodegradable sunscreen on (in the van) so it has enough time to soak in and stay environmentally friendly. The bathrooms and changing rooms were so clean. I was so impressed! The lunch was delicious. Lockers were big enough to fit a full size backpack. Tips: Bring your own towels (they have them if you forget, though). Remember that biodegradable sunscreen! Bring snacks for the ride (or if you have any selective eaters in your group). Lunch was great, but not too many choices and it's a long day to not have snacks for someone who doesn't want what's served for lunch. BRING WATER SHOES. Half of us had Crocs, half had water shoes. While Crocs were great for walking around, they weren't as helpful in the water. We went without and some of the rocks are sharp and all are slippery! You can buy water shoes at the gift shop before you get to the first stop, if needed. Bring a waterproof pouch for your phone. We were able to take so many great pictures! Bring cash for tips and if you want to buy souvenirs for quick purchases. If booking through your hotel, see if you can charge to your room. Our hotel told us this ahead of time so we didn't need to bring our wallet (just cash for tips and snacks). It was very convenient to charge our photos to our room. There are "paparazzi" taking photos at the cenote. We weren't going to buy any, until we saw them. The quality of the pictures and how many candid and great pics they got were too good to pass up!

One of my GFs and I did the cenote and zip lining tour - our guide was great and we had a great time. The lunch that was provide was mediocre but can't really expect nothing more coming from a tour. The shuttle was on time to pick up and drop off. Definitely recommend.

This excursion was exactly the experience we wanted on our honeymoon. We traveled to Mexico for 7 nights, and it was the perfect day of adventure and adrenaline. LUIS FIGUEROA was our guide, and he was especially helpful, kind, patient and knowledgeable on each aspect of the trip. During our trip to the Mayan Ruins of Tulum, we were shocked with not only how much information he knew, but his passion and enthusiasm for the history. If we were to take another tour of this kind, we would HOPE that the guide would possess a fraction of the excitement and hospitality of Luis. Thanks Luis, and thanks Aventuras Mayas!

Amazing! Aventuras Maya really surpass any expectation I had and I would recommend them to anyone that is visiting the area. We booked the experience from our hotel for 12 people. We were picked up on time in the lobby by a very pleasant driver. He allowed us to play music from our phones during the ride since it was a bit far from the hotel. Once we arrived we were set up with a tour guide. We were lead to a section where we were able to put our personal belongings in. First we were taken to the cenote. It was so beautiful! I do not know how to swim, but can handle myself in water a bit. We were able to snorkel and just enjoy mother nature doing for a while. Then we were taken to the zip lines. There was a total of 7 lines. Be prepare to go up lots of levels of steps, but it is so worth it. Each line gets higher and you can do the line upside down, in superman position and the last one was in a hammock. After zip lining we were taken to a lunch area where there was a buffet available and the food was delicious. Well seasoned and fresh. They had a grill chicken, yellow rice, and a salad bar and taco bar. Fresh juices and a dessert. After our meal we were taken to the ATV's. Everything was so fun. I am not the adventures type and I felt safe the entire time. Even my young son enjoyed himself. They do take picture of you the entire time and the pictures they take are professional shots. Worth the extra cost. The entire thing took us about 5-6 hours. I cannot wait to come back!

I had the most amazing time in Tulum/Playa del Carmen thanks to Aventuras Mayas team! Brandic and Mariana were incredible tour guides (I travel a lot and have many companies to compare with) - so funny, attentive and professional! They did not miss one thing! Took care of everyone and always made sure everybody is safe and having a great time! I did 7 zip line and atv tour he first day - so much adrenaline, but so much fun! And cave swimming, tropical fish snorkeling and zip line over open cenote, where you can jump in - beyond beautiful and well maintained nature's beauty! Everything is so clean (unlike a lot of parks in USA). Also lunch provided is very authentic and delicious. The pick up and drop off was perfectly on time. Number one service from start to finish! Very happy with my choice of this company! Can't wait to go back again

We have done several of their tours and they are amazing. We usually get a guide named Dimi. Every time we go they are always very polite, COVID friendly and respectful. Your guide will stay with you throughout the entire journey. I would highly suggest there Senotes, ATV, and zip line tour

Wow, that was the best excursion! It starts off my getting picked up at your hotel in an air conditioned van. It's a 45 minute van ride so bring a bottle of water and enjoy the views of downtown Playa and the picaresque jungle. The road after you get off the highway is very bumpy, but remember you are being brought into a jungle. When you begin your excursion you begin with the zip lining tour. Now, there are only 4 leads to zip on, but I have to say the staff is a lot more professional that the zip lining I experienced in Costa Rica. I think it was a great first experience for my boys. It didn't over whelm them with it being incredibly long. Then, we went on an ATV tour of the jungle. It took about 30 minutes to get to the sinkhole. The jungle trail is extremely rocky and filled with ruts and huge potholes. You need some sort of experience with motorcycles to operate these machines, because it takes a lot on manpower to steer and not crash on this rugged terrain. You can purchase insurance for $15 which is reasonable. I grew up driving motorcycles so I did not buy it, but no one on our tour crashed either. Then you reach the end of the trail you are at the Mayan Sinkhole called a cenote. There is a zip lining bar that you hold onto to race your way into the sinkhole. When you reach a yellow rope then you let go and drop into the cold crystal blue waters. The only problem I found was that on your second turn it is hard to hold onto the bar with wet hands. Then after you cool off you drive your ATV back to base camp. The last tour was my favorite, it was snorkeling in an underwater cave. They provide you with snorkeling gear and a life vest. I really wish had a waterproof camera for this part. It was stunning to swim in a cave and take in all of the majestic views. The stalactites and stalagmites were abundant. There were also many tiny catfish swimming with you! I also wished I had brought a change of clothes. My clothes were all dusty from the ATV ride. You have to put your dirty clothes back on after swimming in the cave. Then sit in those dirty clothes back to your hotel.

The cave.

We had a blast! We did the: -zip line circuit, fun don't do if you are afraid of heights obviously. -ATV, I am inexperienced but I caught on pretty quickly. The terrain is rough but As long as your not super frail, you will be able to control it. -swam in the pond, which had a zip, snorkeled in a cave, not much to see since there wasn't any wild life down there but it was fun. The tour guides were very knowledgeable and hilarious! While riding the atv we had a couple in our group that was slower, the guides didn't let the whole group get off schedule they seemed prepared for it. I appreciated that because that could've blew it for us. The lunch they provided was good too. I thought lunch was gonna be along lines of cold cuts and a bag chips. I am definitely gonna be a excursion junkie from now on, lol.

We both thoroughly enjoyed the half day trip and would recommend it to anyone. Limbert was a very knowledgeable guide and told us a lot about the history of Mexico on the drive down. I was lucky to experience a truly unique custom tour organized by Rod, the owner, and Limbert, our tour guide. From the very beginning, the service was impeccable--warm, personalized, and incredibly thoughtful. Limbert wasn't just a guide; he felt like a true friend welcoming us into his home. His knowledge of Mayan culture is outstanding, and visiting the ruins with him felt like traveling back in time--an educational and fascinating experience we wouldn't have had with anyone else. Swimming with the turtles was also absolutely out of this world. Limbert made sure everything was safe, smooth, and above all, magical. I don't give out that fifth star easily... but these guys EARNED it!…read more My wife and I tend to avoid pre-packaged ANYTHING. We choose AirBnB's over hotels, never stay at resorts, eat where the locals do, and avoid tourist traps like (place your favorite cliché here.) That said, we also want the skinny on what makes a World Heritage Site a... well, World Heritage Site. So after lots of soul-searching (and Web browsing), we opted to give these guys a shot ....and they hit it out of the park! First: Communication. Emails were plentiful and articulate. Important information (what to bring, where to meet, etc.) was highlighted in yellow. Second: Customer service. From the moment we met at the pick-up point (two minutes before the appointed time) until the drop-off, the staff was absolutely gracious, knowledgeable, helpful and just nice to be around. Third: The ambiance. Everything about the tour (this one to Chichén Itzá) was outstanding. There were 15 tourists and two staff in a late-model, well-maintained 21-passenger van. The air conditioning made the ride very comfortable (as did the shock absorbers!). Edér, our guide and a native of Tabasco, was clearly well-versed on the history of the Yucatán Peninsula, the history of the Maya, and the cultural artifacts that really add "color" to a tour. His English was accented but flawless... and he spoke at a volume that really made everyone WANT to listen... modulating his voice the way I do in my classroom, and I teach 6th grade! ;-) The extras. Our trip included, beside the stated objective of visiting Chichén Itzá, a sandwich on the way to the site (yummy!); a visit to a cenote (a flooded sinkhole where you may swim in a cave - we went to one called "Xkeken"), a luncheon (an over-the-top buffet at a hacienda near the cenote) and some free time in the colonial city of Valladolid - where we had been promised no pressure to shop anywhere - and were rewarded with a drop off in the city plaza, and 40 minutes to wander aimlessly (or do whatever called to you, even if it was to go shopping). The necessaries: Many Americans are advised not to drink tap water in Mexico... to stick to bottled water. These guys had enough 1/2 liter bottles on board for each of us to have a dozen apiece, if we'd wanted! (Soft drinks, too) ...and that water has got to go somewhere - so please pardon my indiscretion, but the restroom stops were strategically located as often as necessary, and even several were skipped simply because no one had needed them. So don't worry about being trapped in a van, having drunk your fill with no relief in sight! These guys have planned it WELL. I'd be remiss if I didn't mention our driver, José: the consummate professional. He negotiated every speed bump, every parking lot and every tight squeeze with aplomb. Kudos to José, and to Edér! WELL DONE, YUKATREKS! We'll certainly use your services the next time we visit the Mayan Riviera!

It was an intimate group of about 12 or so, and we learned so much from Eder. I know many people recommend to rent a car and drive to the ruins, but our history lesson made all the difference. And we obviously don't know the roads that well, so this made us feel safer. This was the best tour company I've ever used in Mexico and would recommend them to anyone!

Rio Secreto was an amazing experience!…read more I went to Cancun for a girls' trip, and honestly, I was very nervous because I didn't know what to expect. I tend to get anxious about new experiences, but I always try to push myself--knowing I'll be happy I did afterward. When you arrive, check-in takes place in a hidden, lush area with benches. A short video plays so you can get an idea of what Rio Secreto is all about. After that, you check in, sign your waivers, and meet your guide for the day. We totally lucked out--our guide, George, was incredible! The guide makes all the difference. George was full of life, personality, and knowledge. He truly immersed us in the caves and shared so much about Mayan culture. I can't say enough nice things about him! Your guide then takes you by van to the Rio Secreto caves, about a 15-minute drive on an unpaved, natural, and bumpy road. I don't get carsick, but if you're prone to it, you may want to take something beforehand. The ride itself is scenic and surrounded by lush greenery. Once you arrive, you'll find lockers, showers, bathrooms, and seating areas. Be prepared to remove all jewelry, as it's not allowed in the caves--the water must remain pure. You'll take a quick shower before putting on your wetsuit and water shoes (they provide them, or you can bring your own). You'll also wear a helmet with a light. The facility is extremely clean and well-maintained. I was genuinely impressed by how often they sanitized the equipment, floors, and bathrooms. Once you're geared up, you take about a 10-minute walk to the caves. Before entering, you'll participate in a beautiful Mayan ceremony meant to cleanse your spirit--and take a quick group photo. Important tip: You cannot bring your cell phone! Let it go and just enjoy the moment. A photographer will take pictures throughout the tour, and trust me, it's worth it. Walking and swimming through the caves while listening to George share stories about the Mayans, the legends, and the discovery of Rio Secreto was truly magical. The water is cool at first, but you get used to it quickly. Floating through the crystal-clear water surrounded by stunning cave formations took my breath away. After the tour, you're treated to a delicious meal--including handmade tortillas! An amazing day and an unforgettable experience. Highly recommend Rio Secreto!

Both bilingual and really nice guys. ~ Breakfast consisted of two types of tamales and a traditional balché Mayan drink. ~ On our way to Chichen Itza, Fernando and Walter referenced many historical facts about the Maya people and how they live today. They passed around artifacts as well. ~ We visited their local gift shop that they specifically support. And they do take credit card, even though I only carried cash. ~ Watched a video in a dome theater, about the Mayan culture and how it all began. ~ In the heat, Walter showed us all around the Chichen Itza grounds. I enjoyed it, and still would recommend going with these guys.
