There was some confusion, however the lady in charge took very good care of us when we made it back. The boat ride was about 2 hours out to find the whales. Our kiddos got sick, but the crew on the boat helped out as much as possible. The other tourist on board with us were also very kind and understanding. The divers stayed with us and guided us while we were in the ocean. They made sure everyone was able to see and experience the whales up close. Whale sharks are not to be confused with sharks FYI! After we swam with the whales the captain took us to explore some reefs, then to isla mujares, which was my favorite place to visit. They made fresh ceviche while we swam off the shores. If you are in cancun while the whale sharks are in season then I highly recommend you take the opportunity.

You just snorkel and swim and just watch the sharks. We saw multiple sharks and watched them eat and even smaller fish feeding off them. All seven people in our party loved the experience. Just wonderful. Yes it costs a little more than other excursions but well worth it. We got three turns swimming with the sharks. Also water, soda, a light breakfast and light snack at the end. We also did some snorkeling at end of tour.

We had a really fun afternoon on the Cenotes and Ecopark tour at Labnaha. The activity is split…read moreinto 2 parts; the ecopark and the cenotes tour. The whole day is pretty much water based. If you have a fear of water, or don't' enjoy water; don't come here. At the Ecopark there is ziplining, canoeing and a refreshing dip into this gorgeous pond. The canoe ride was really fun, the water was amazing... clear blue, lily pads everywhere, turtles fish. The only issue with the canoe is that there was no guidance about how to canoe. Lol! It took us a while to get the hang of it, then it was over. With a little guidance we may have gotten to explore more. After the canoe they take you to a smaller pond where you can jump off a little cliff, swim or snorkel. I've never seen water that green and clear in my life. Really cool. But the water is deep... so again, if you're not a good swimmer it may be anxiety producing. After a snack of local fruits and guac, you head out to the cenotes, which are underwater caves. The guide takes you down stairs into a cave that's about thigh high in water, gives you a lifejacket, scuba light, and goggles and tells you to come with him. I thought the original cave was the entirety of the activity, but actually he takes you through a tunnel of caves that takes about 20 min. Once you leave the original cenote, you're treading water for the entire tour. The water is deep. Maybe I just didn't' know what to expect, but I really think the guide should have explained what was going on more clearly. I was ok b/c I know how to tread, and I thought the experience was pretty cool, but only 2 out the 4 people in our party actually participated in the cenote tour... they just weren't as comfortable with water. Anywhoo, I give them a 4 because it was a unique experience. I would give them 5, but the guidance was a bit lacking. I'm a little conflicted about docking a star because the guide was a lovely young guy from Tulum and I'm all about supporting local business and local guides, BUT it could be a dangerous activity and in this situation a bit more guidance would have been good. All in all, very much recommended.

**A Day of Sun and Discovery: Chichen Itza Adventure, local lunch buffet, and cenote visit**…read more I recently had the opportunity to visit the ancient Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience! Despite the scorching heat, our group had an absolute blast exploring this incredible site. **The Weather: A Sizzling Challenge** Let's get the obvious out of the way - it was HOT. Like, "I-can't-even-wear-my-sunglasses-because-their-frames-are-melting" hot. The sun beats down relentlessly, making every step feel like a marathon. But, as they say, "no pain, no gain" - and we were determined to make the most of our day. **The Ruins: A Treasure Trove of History** As we ventured deeper into the site, our eyes widened in awe at the sheer scale and grandeur of the ancient structures. The Pyramid of Kukulkan (El Castillo) stole the show, its intricate carvings and stairways a testament to the ingenuity of the Mayans. The Temple of Warriors, with its 9 pillars, was another highlight - each one adorned with symbolic carvings that told stories of battles and mythological creatures. **Cenote** We were also lucky enough to visit a local cenote and were thoroughly impressed. Despite the short visit, the experience was refreshing and rejuvenating. (about an hour 1/2 or so) The water was crystal clear and a perfect temperature - a welcome respite from the hot Cancun sun. The calm and peaceful atmosphere made it easy to unwind and relax. If you're looking for a quick and easy way to cool off or experience the natural beauty of Cancun, I highly recommend checking out one of these local cenotes. Don't expect to spend hours exploring, but do expect to leave feeling refreshed and invigorated. **Tips and Takeaways** * Bring sunscreen. Like, a lot of sunscreen. * Bring a canteen filled with Ice and water * Wear comfortable shoes - you'll be doing a lot of walking. * Take breaks in shaded areas or under umbrellas to avoid heat exhaustion. * Don't miss the acoustics demonstration at El Castillo - it's an impressive display! * Be prepared for crowds and long lines during peak season. * Consider booking a guided tour to get a deeper understanding of the site's history and significance. Thank you NOE and team!

When finding an excursion for Cancun is really difficult. There's so much to do so little time…read more After a couple of days of looking, my Mr found this one from Amigo tours. We booked it on trip advisory. Plus you have to pay Mexican tax, so that's separate from the purchase you made online. It's a two hour drive so make sure you pack alot of water, sunscreen, towels, extra clothes. Please make sure you pay attention to the guides and what they have to say. There are rules. Each destination has a time limit. One more thing, they do pick you up at your hotel depending where you are staying. You go to three places. Here is the itinerary: -Valladolid, a colonial town in the Yucatan Peninsula (1 hour behind) -Sacred Cenote - refreshing, enchanting underground sinkhole, sacred to the Mayan people. -Lunch at Cenote grounds (Restaurant-Buffet style. -Tequila Tasting (Chichikan Tequila) ONLY found at this location. -Chichén Itzá, a UNESCO landmark and an important relic of the Mayan civilization. One of the seven wonders of the world. My favorite was swimming at the Cenote. You are required to purchased a life jacket separately and it's required. You have to shower before you go in. They want to keep the water clean so no sunscreen. Third was the ruins. I absolutely love the history behind it. I forgot about the tequila tasting. It was short but the tequila was so good. They only make it for Chichikan, no other place. I wish we could've had more time at the colonial town of Valladolid. I would've liked to explore more. What a great experience and my Mr and I had a blast. Hats off to Romeo, Juan and Hugo. They were amazing guides. They looked out for us and made sure we were okay. I would highly recommend this trip! It's worth it!

While I…read moreunderstand that unexpected issues can happen, the level of unprofessionalism I experienced was completely unacceptable. Their vehicle broke down, which I was patient and understanding about. I waited over an hour for pickup, even rearranging my evening plans to accommodate the delay. Despite this, communication was awful -- I asked multiple times for an update and got no clear response. When they finally arrived, they didn't bother to call or text me to say they were outside. Instead, they left without me, after I had been waiting in the hotel lobby the entire time. This was a complete waste of my time and money. I didn't receive the service I paid for, and the poor communication and lack of basic customer service made the situation even worse. Amigo Tours needs to take accountability for how poorly this was handled.
