Spartan Tree Service, The Greater Sacramento Area, CA, March 5, 2024…read moreWhen we first bought our house, the backyard at the time was a blank slate. Just dirt. We had fun creating a nice design and planting lots of awesome trees and bushes. Fast forward 17 years and all those little trees and bushes are fully mature. One of our trees is an olive tree. It was fun to watch it grow; however, one of its limbs shot up faster than the rest of the tree to over 20 feet tall. It was also growing over the fence into my neighbors yard. About five weeks ago, Sacramento saw some of the highest winds in recent history. The maximum recorded speed was 65 mph. That was enough to completely blow our backyard wood fence completely to the ground. With the fence down, I took the opportunity to do some major trimming of the backyard trees and plants. The olive tree, however, was just too high for me to feel comfortable about climbing up and trimming. I decided it was time to call a tree service. But which one? Yelp to the rescue! I did a search for tree cutting services in our area. It was pretty cool. Yelp found tree trimming companies and gave me the option to request quotes. So that's what I did. Four companies began correspondence through Yelp almost immediately. Christian, owner of Spartan Tree Service, was the first to make an appointment with me. He showed up at our place in less than an hour and gave me a quote. I was happy with the quote that included hauling off the debris, so we set up an appointment for him to come back later in the afternoon. Christian showed up at the appointed time with his 30 foot boom and tree cutting and disposal equipment. He and his assistant Carlos made quick work of cutting down the tall branch and taking it away. He also took away some other debris that I had trimmed. I was very impressed with his service and I highly recommend him. Spartan also comes with a $2500 Yelp satisfaction guarantee to support this five star service.

As soon as they started digging, I could tell these guys were experienced professionals. They dug the holes properly, mixed the native soil with planting soil, added gypsum, and carefully planted and staked the trees--some of them over 8 feet tall. They worked efficiently, carefully, and professionally throughout the entire job. The real test came during the following weeks, when Roseville experienced triple-digit temperatures day after day. Of course, I made sure the trees were properly watered, but I'm very pleased to say that all eleven trees have done extremely well. Two months later, they are healthy and thriving despite the intense summer heat. I'm very happy with the quality of Jon and Steve's work and would wholeheartedly recommend Arborguard for any tree-planting project.

If you're looking for a tree service that actually backs up their words with action, look no…read morefurther than Reddings Arborist. They recently took down a massive oak tree on our property, and from start to finish, the experience was outstanding. Their quote came in better than everyone else we contacted, and unlike some companies that low-ball you and tack on extras later, Reddings stood firmly behind their original price even when the job ran longer than expected. That kind of integrity is rare and it didn't go unnoticed. The attention to detail throughout the process was impressive, and the cleanup afterward was thorough. You'd never have known a large tree had just come down. Just as important, they communicated with us every step of the way, so we were never left wondering what was happening or what came next. A lot of companies throw around words like quality and integrity but Reddings Arborist actually lives by them. Highly recommend to anyone who wants the job done right, at a fair price, by people who take real pride in their work.
